What I'm currently thinking, in short, is a story in which the couple gets to know each other for a short while, when one of them is still in the closet and coming to terms with being gay.
One of them goes away for a while, probably a year, and during this year they change a lot. Despite the distance, maintain the friendship, and in a way they both get closer and more callous with each other.
During this year, the closeted one deals with his issues and accepts hinself.
Once they meet again all the emotions slowly come back, but they also have to work out some of the issues that accumulated throughtout their time apart.

Stronglifts and Starting Strength are both good.
Stronglifts has more upper body work, while Starting Strength really focuses a lot on lower body. Stronglifts also has more volume (you'll do 5 sets, while SS does 3), which at first guarantees you some faster gains but this will become unmanageable soon, once you start lifting heavier shit.

I personally prefer Starting Strength, because squat and deadlift progression are so much fun, but both are good choices. If you tell us what you want to improve on yourself we might be able to give you some specific suggestions.

Then I recommend Starting Strength, and also that you really work hard to get good squat form. Try to go very low, below parallel, because that'll pay off in butt gains.

Pull ups/chin ups are good, you should DEFINITELY incorporate them. They're so good that the later stages of SS already have them.
If you want to increase butt gains, see >>6953763 . I personally am very favorable towards Romanian Deadlifts as assistance, they'll both help your deadlift and give you a nice ass.
Some people are very autistic towards bicep curls. As you progress in SS/SL, I'd recommend that you do incorporate them, they won't hurt. Just don't go overboard, pick just one kind of curl.
If you have small calfs, which is almost a certainty, you can eventually do some calf raises/calf press. Most assistance work is meant to be done after your main lifts, but I do them after squats so I have a few minutes to catch my breath after a relatively intense lift.

These are just some examples of assistance exercises. Which one you should pick depends entirely on your peculiarities. But you should definitely keep in mind that assistance exercises should be incorporated, preferably, after you've been on strength training for a while, and that you should pick just a few.

Also, a little warning: cyclists are very likely to start with a relatively strong squat, because indeed the upward part of the squat is a similar movement to that of cycling.
The thing is, going down is not something that cycling prepares you for, so you might have an imbalance of sorts. And if you don't take care with that you might end up squatting a relatively heavy weight you shouldn't squat just yet, and you'll get the worst delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) of your life.
Bottom line is: start light with your squats, even if it seems too easy, because you're precisely in the group most likely to squat too heavy on your first session.

Go to the Starting Strength youtube page and watch the videos about form of the main lifts, that's going to give you a solid foundation. You probably will need to watch them a few times, there are quite a few details.

Ok, here's a pretty precise and effective set of suggestions:
1. Continue eating normally;
2. Start drinking milk, and
3. Drink more milk.

If your intestines don't agree with what I've just told you, drink lactose-free milk.

I know how rough it can be. Luckily the best things in life are pretty cheap.

For fitness the most important thing is hitting protein and calorie goals. Even lifting at home or doing calisthenics will get gains if you can't afford a gym membership.

Buy a 5 kilo bag of brown rice. Add frozen veg and meat.
Make stews with cheap vegetables and cheap cuts of meat. Add a load of pearl barley.

If I had to guess, you're probably over estimating the amount you eat in a day. I did the same thing for years. Once your start counting calories you'll get a better picture of where you stand.

As an ex skelly, eating enough to bulk up is incredibly hard. Your stomach just isn't used to it, and hitting you calorie goals can be physically painful.

My first bulk, I ate what I would normally eat in a day, then an entire frozen pizza. Cheap frozen pizza if pretty good bulking food. $3ish for about 1000 calories and 60+ g of protein.

That's precisely what I've been thinking, anon. I've been tying myself too tightly, trying to hide all these things I've been feeling and consuming my mind. Maybe that might have been sustainable for a while, a few years ago, but now it's only harming me with each passing day.
I don't plan on holding back at all. I got along amazingly well with this psychologist and opening up to her was easier than I expected.
So I'm cautiously hopeful for the future.

I've seen a handful of threads on /fit/ about bearmode, I don't think they would meme you too much.

That said, as far as I've heard, bearmode is basically strength training (Starting Strength/Stronglifts until you reach Intermediate level, then progress with Texas Method) with a permabulk (eat a lot but clean so you don't get too fat).
Bearmode is essentially very similar to husbando mode, the main difference being that you're aiming for a higher bodyfat%. You can take a look at the husbando mode pastebin, it'll give you some good info.

You're supposed to research the stuff I mentioned, because it would take a long time to write out everything and there have been many people more knowledgeable than I who have written about it.
But here's the basics. These two programs, Starting Strength (SS) and StrongLifts (SL) are programs which mostly focus on barbell exercises (Google that). These barbell exercises are what we call "compound lifts", because they use your entire body or, at least, many muscle groups.
The main compound lifts are the squat, deadlift, overhead press and bench press. These two routines do have some other exercises, but these four are the most important ones.
These routines aim to make you strong, plain and simple. You'll start out with a small weight and increase in increments with each training session. You should work out 3 times per week, always with at least one rest day in between sessions, so your body can recover from the stress.

Give it a bit longer. If you still aren't losing weight then either your intake or your maintenance are incorrect.

Just like there are some people who have high metabolisms, you might be in the low side of the spectrum. You might have to drop your intake more to hit your goals.

I don't think I have any pics from back then. They weren't really impressive by most standards, it was just a practical consideration. I had to use shirts often and they just aren't designed for big biceps.
