I'm kinda scared because my first one comes up next week. I've seen a few horror stories like https://broadly.vice.com/en_us/article/for-trans-people-on-hormones-doctors-can-be-the-worst-part-of-the-treatment and I'm genuinely frightened, even though a trans friend I have said it should be fine.

I'm not paying for my treatment and bf who is has a tendency to trust doctors too much and think I'm histrionic and distrustful even though I have reference charts and studies to shove in the doc's face in case he says something stupid, but I feel like it won't matter.

I wish I could just go, get recommendation for bloodwork (not free with my insurance without doctor's recommendation) and leave, but I'm scared he'll try to intervene more and change my dosages that have been working so far.
