Yeah, it's not really outdated and I do occasionally use them for certain tasks, I can see where he was coming from though considering we're using C#. Depends on what you're doing. I'd use it over C/C++ any day. However my day job is mostly really simple Java/Kotlin stuff (Web and Android apps) , and Rust is just way too much hassle for that sort of stuff. Maybe I'm just spoiled by garbage collection.
