are you guys seriously this stupid? Teddy is just realizing he has feelings for Vincent. Read the previous chapter, and also have a good look at the first scene of this chapter.

He's crying because he realized his friend was gay for him THE WHOLE TIME. He's crying because his best friend has been hiding such a huge secret from him. He's crying because he's caused Vincent so much pain. He's crying because Vincent is fucking Louis because Vincent couldn't get with him. He's crying because that feels like Vincent is cheating on him. He's crying because Vincent cares for him so much that he went down the double black diamond just to make sure he's alright, and now he's going to the hospital.

I mean, this probably isn't spot on, but there is so much reason for Teddy to be feeling this way.

And there is no way that this is Teddy's comeuppance and that Vincent is going to get with Louis. That just makes absolutely no narrative sense. It's been thoroughly established that they don't want to be in a relationship with each other. This is going to end the only way it can possibly make sense to end, and that's with Vincent together with Teddy.

What I meant by comeuppance for Teddy earlier is that Vincent being wheeled off to the hospital, Louis of all people calling you out on your shit, and him realizing how dragging his best friend on a leash like a lost puppy is fucked up. Everything that kept his world together just shattered.

Like Louis said, Teddy is an egotistical asshole. He isn't crying because of Vincent's own struggles, he's crying because he knows that he can't have Vincent to himself, whether it be romantically or as friends. Sure, Teddy was shown to have his own issues caused from being harassed by John. Back then Vincent beat the shit out of John in a blind rage over it, and this was before Teddy was ever friends with him. Instead of trying to use that boiling point to make things right, Teddy further drug Vincent into his problems and prolonged the feud with John.

In the very beginning the dad was wearing his dead wife's clothes as some sort of way to cope/not cope with her death, and later was retconned to him just cross-dressing or some sort of non-binary thing. Then it possibly hinted at him and the vampire kid's dad having a thing, and now it's pretty obvious they got a thing for each other.

If we only posted comics that heavily revolved around LGBT subjects then we wouldn't have a lot to post, so people also just post/recommend ones even if they have just one LGBT character that at least shows up frequently. I'm fine with it, TLH is pretty fun.

I also noticed that she edited the dialog in the beginning where we are introduced to Mona and her dad awhile ago, and just saw this in the comments.

Since she changed it to pander to tumblr, she could have at least done it a better way. Vampire dad helped him a bit over his wife which eased could have eased his unstablity that tumblr got upset over. As for keeping him genderfucked, she could have just added him quipping something along the lines of, "Actually, I think I look pretty good in this.." in a response to someone suggesting him taking it off. There, not only is he getting help, but he's finding out he likes this nonbinary crap.

But no, it has to be retconned and hamfisted. It's obvious she just backpeddled about 'always meaning to change it' and for fuck's sake, in her first comment she uses female pronouns that implies the dad is trans, but after people started pointing out that a transwoman isn't going to grow out her mustache she then retracts mentioning trans at all and says she uses they/them pronouns for him. It's just a clusterfuck of her having no idea what she's doing which is a shame because this is actually a good comic.
