>>35074880
Its not, some people have bad expereinces with their hobby builds and they choice to avoid this in the future by leaving it to professionals.

You need to drill divots for set screws, and you need a welder to weld the pin. You also need a torque wrench for the barrel nut. All things I don't have.

>You need to drill divots for set screws
In my experience, this matters little, especially if you use gas blocks that have a lot of set screws. MI gas blocks with three set screws are pretty bomb proof once you tighten down all three screws. I literally haven't dimpled any of my barrels and have yet to have problems with any of my gas blocks after ~23,000 rounds .

I am not looking for a rifle you dumb fuck I know what I want. I specifically asked about FF rails that attach to the standard hardware. Then one fagot went "why? just unbuild your prebuilt gun like a fucking idiot since I think its easy". I then addressed some concerns with this and said no thank you and you spergs went on some bullshit about changing tires.

Literally what is this thread for if not to help people learn about AR-15 products and how to use them? Oh I am sorry I forgot this thread is for trustfund babys and office fagots to bring the never shot ARs and show them off while acting superior to people who don't conform to their bullshit.

>>35075129
If you are going with a 16" build and you will be using a can you might as well do a 14.5" pinned.

If you need absolute compactness go with a 10/11.5" but 99% of the time people over estimate how compact they need the rifle to be. Most people are putting the AR in the safe and range bag not jumping in and out of cars.

okay, use thread locker for everything firearms related in the future, and I imagine the screws weren't very tight

as for the rear sight, I'd try to make sure the rail is centered to the barrel
KMR's have pretty substantial flex in relation to the barrel

So its a KMR thing, and not just a free float thing? I replaced the little timing u tab thing already. Though if its just the fact that its a shitty rail I will probably just put a scope on this and turn it into a comp rifle. Its accurate at least.

I can confirm that using set screws is an effective way to secure your gas block.

Maybe if you're this quick to sperg out, you should rethink owning firearms. But the point of these threats are to contain all the tripfags from 'MUH AR'ing every other thread on this board. People MIGHT help, but aren't required to bow to every anon that wonders in.

this is wrong
use thread locker and proper torque
there's a lot of carbon buildup around gas blocks
this makes them seal better and be more prone to stay in place as well

I think the larger sized ones line up easily with a magnifier if you want to go that route. Maybe they use a bigger battery, AA instead of AAA or the camera lithium ion etc.

I think they will all co witness with your irons. Go to a store and ask to finger fuck them all and try them all out. EOTech has the square with an outer ring and an inner dot. Kinda cool.

I personally prefer small, lightweight. I like mobility. I like being able to transition into and out of vehicles quickly. Small. Lightweight.

I don't really know man. I am sure someone is out there making a nutnfancy youtube examination of the structural integrity dynamics of the shock cohesion of red dots and mounts.

Figure it like this, if it is so bad that you are in combat and your red dot goes down, it is probably bad enough that there are plenty of different rifles and scopes laying on the ground on the bodies of people fighting to pick one up and try it out.

LWRC A5 Piston

LWRC A5 DI

A4gery with a 20" barrel

A4gery would have an M-LOK. I'm gravitating more towards 20" but I'm wondering if 16" would be better

How hard are DI guns to clean? Does gas length make a difference in how dirty it can get?

6061-T6 is the primary aluminum used in aircraft manufacturing. 7075 would be much less common.

It's cheap because of it's build quality.

it's a good rail.

6013 has been all the rage lately for some reason. But I see 2024, 6061, 7050, 7075 pretty much day in day out, then of course A356 & 357 castings. It's a pretty even dispersion in the parts I manufacture.

No, because I provided source material that backed up my assertion. I was in the Navy for 6 years and was a very good technician. Calling me a larper in order to save face only devalues your opinion no matter how much you may be right. Since you have proven that you can't handle being wrong with any grace.
>>
>>35078104
> I provided source material that backed up my assertion.
You provided one website that sells 7075 aluminum.
You did not discredit the many MANY websites on google that list 6061 as an aircraft aluminum.
When you google the term "Aircraft Aluminum," 6061 is the most common return.
Your source doesn't mean shit in that context, and it's not even related to your claimed experience.
>I was in the Navy for 6 years and was a very good technician.
Yet you post no proofs. Sounds like a pretty serious larp.
>Since you have proven that you can't handle being wrong with any grace.

This is my upper with an MI gen 3 15" MLOK rail, lacking flash hider and gas tube

The handguard's 12 o'clock rail does not have the totally same specs as the upper, it does bug me quite a bit, I don't get how an AR upper can have different profile rails compared to the handguard.
