So I ordered a dynamic chest rig waist strap from Down Range Gear since it seems pretty useful for keeping things tight, but I haven't gotten any shipping confirmation and after digging a little more it looks like the business isn't even active, and they haven't answered any of my emails. Does anyone else make something similar, because I would really like to use something like this to keep my chest rig tight even when I'm adding or shedding layers and would prefer not to manually adjust it each time

Do you understand how plate carriers work? 90% of people here with plate carriers don't have side protection.

The USGI carriers kinda suck because they use a buckle system instead of a cumberbund system which makes things sag and feel loose for many people. Of course I don't think anon has a choice to use something else judging by the hearts on his helmet.

I keep my NODs in a canteen pouch because the PSQ20B and it's rhino mount don't fit in anything else.

My IFAK has the usual shit; a TQ, pressure dressing, gauze, quik clot gauze, an NAP, chest seals, medical tape, gloves, marker, and feeder cards.

I keep a Gerber in a pistol mag pouch because belt fed problems.

And the larger IFAK pouch is other stuff i typically need; lens pen, extra marker, tape, aspirin, lighter, batteries (aa, aaa, 123s), headlamp, compass, and a 9 line cheat sheet.

I like it. Have you considered getting a piece of plastic (same thickness as the backers in the assault pack) and cutting it to make a bit of a shield for your NODs inside the canteen pouch?

I guess I should let you know what I have..

1.75" belt with a cobra buckle.
Temporary holster and pistol mag holder (usually wear this on my IPSC belt, but added it here while I wait for belt mounted HSGI pouches and a new semi-low holster).
The uniform isn't legit Crye, sadly, but it's a very high quality replica made by some Ukranian named Roman Kurmaz. Was difficult to find one in Norwegian Woodland camo.

Well, when I was deployed a lot of guys in my units actually did carry bayonets or similar fullsized knives with them. These were for digging up IEDs and stuff not fighting, but they carried them quick access. Most guys would carry them in the kangaroo pouch of the plate carrier, inside of a premade or DIY shealth (some plastic and tape wrapped up, and then velcro glued to it to keep it seated in the velcro lined pouch.). This kept it behind the mags and out of the way.

Don't know if you're going to plate carrier up on hog hunting though, so it sounds like just running it through a belt is more practical.

PCs are sized for the plates they contain, not the user. Most carriers will have plenty of external adjustment. Cummerbunds are typically elastic and velcro, for instance.

Upgrading my chicom soon. Right now I'm planning on replacing the back strap with a 2 inch nylon strap with a buckle, and adding a map pocket inside.

I wear it more without armor than with, so I don't think adding buckles to the front to turn it into a chest panel are for me.

Nothing wrong with that. I'm hitting up a local store tomorrow to browse their selection, the only place locally that stocks tac stuff that isn't condor/blackhawk/5.11 shit.

Last I checked they had Eagle RRVs for $100 which if I recall is a pretty damn good deal. Whether it's there or online I'm in need of some torso LBE.

I'm sure it's been covered before, but surplus 40mm pouches hold fullsize / compact 9mm mags reasonably well. Would prefer velcro closure but at the price point...
I just nabbed a pile of them for $1.95 a piece at the surplus store, they look barely used.

Anyways I'm looking for a Molle-based holster to put onto a chest rig, any suggestions?

I'm really sorry if this is a retarded question. So, I'm looking at rigger belt options to upgrade my battle belt. Currently, I have a 1.5" Cobra belt from HSGI holding all my gear. I'm looking at getting a 215 Gear Ultimate Rigger's Belt. Since this is mostly for LARP reasons (read: fetish reasons) and I obviously have no occasion to hook into a helicopter, I know nothing about how to properly use a rigger's belt and personal retention lanyard. Can someone explain the procedure for this? Does the lanyard go from the hardware at the front of the belt to the anchor point in the helo? Or does it go from the back of belt itself to the anchor point in the helo, with the hardware on the front only being there to clip the lanyard to when not in active use?

Honestly it really is the best place to live in VA, although I wasn't a fan of the numbers of people starting to move into the area. Where I lived at I could walk about 30-45 mins out into the woods away from my house and shoot to my hearts content. There was a huge clearing out to about 150 yards that I would shoot at. Do you know any ranges in the area that go any further than that? Amelia only goes to like 100y, and colonial and the one behind southern gun world are basically worthless for rifle shooting. I guess the real answer is to find someone with decent land out past Amelia, or out in Prince George.
(Also being able to hit Shenandoah or Norfolk in 2 hours flat was the absolute best part)

Honestly the only range relatively close worth belonging to full time is Cavalier and that has a multi-year waiting list plus requires and existing member invite. That being said, it is an amazing range with great people.

They have multiple rifle ranges, one out to 800 yards with steel all the way out. Multiple 3 sided square pits for setting up your own tactical shooting, pistol ranges, skeet, a few other. No people watching over your back, they trust members to be responsible and take care of the range and each other.

Outside of that, private land is the way to go.
