Will a mini 5.56 can have more or less blowback than a full size can?

Is it true that they get worn out faster than full size cans?

I'm between a KAC QDC and a SOCOM. I know they're far from the quietest or cheapest but I want something cool and pretty. Can't figure out if I would regret getting a mini can though.

Also if anybody knows how backpressure differs between the KAC QDC and SOCOM line I would like to hear it. I'm attracted to the KAC cans because of the inconel and because I could use a MAMS.

All this talk this thread and last about suppressor wear is at odds with the things I've read on other parts of the internet. Properly maintained, with a muzzle brake or flash hider, save for catastrophic failures like baffle strikes, a can should provide functional suppression regardless of its wear status all the way out to the lifetime of a the barrel. We're talking tens of thousands of rounds. Especially if you're looking an Inconel. Also keep in mind any reputable suppressor manufacturer should have a pretty solid warranty.

By technical standards there are few suppressors out there that aren't hearing safe using a standard length barrel. Hearing safe means 140dB, technically.

The Sandman K is technically hearing safe out of a 16" 5.56
For an SBR it won't be hearing safe.
It doesn't matter though because shooting supersonic 5.56 through a semi auto AR you should be using hearing protection regardless. You just won't have to double up, or worry as much about a muff coming up for a second.

Hell shooting supersonic .22 out of a bolt action isn't actually safe.

The bottom line is you should be using at least one layer of ear pro until you're using subsonics.

I think your getting too far into it.

What I mean by that is its like burning your clutch on your car. It lowers the life of the clutch, but you wont notice the overall wear of the clutch being much different.

I figure its somewhat similiar with suppressors. having a break takes some of the wear AND carbon away from the suppressor itself. But unless you are putting hundreds of thousands of rounds through your gear frequently. I doubt you would notice the difference.

I have had some cheap metal amazon backup sights on for a while, and there is about half a mm of play back and forth on the back sight. Much less play on the front sight but there is some.

The k16i has an 'aimpoint on 8/9' bright reticle. Glass, is well kahles. No parallax asides from the objective lens being further forward than your non dominant eye.
