My best friend is /k/ and he's taught me a good bit and i like going to the range with him and i like looking at all the separate parts and diagramming them and taking them down and putting them back together. I mean I'm sure a lot of that didn't stick but the average gunowner's ive encountered down here in texas typically they own at most 1 longarm, 1 handgun. And they couldn't tell you a damn thing about either one beyond round size. Not exactly a threshold set high.

Knowledge about guns won't help you much in the military. It's more about keeping yourself calm after your unit is getting ITed cause a cunt sneezed in formation. You'll made fun of if you wanna be all warrior philosopher, unless your a baddass like Mattis, even then I bet he was made fun of. You will have plenty time to read and study though during standbys and shit. Pretty sure if you do join you'll be in logistics or finance, which there's no shame in being but rifle warrior philosopher knowledge ain't gonna do shit there. Last thing, if you're mentally strong you can physically overcome pretty much anything.
