Using only a ssd isn't wise as they have shorter lifespans iirc, most use a ssd in conjunction with a hdd and only install their OS and programs on it for lightning fast startup and loading.

Can someone school me on how much recoil reduction I can expect were I to install an adjustable gas block?

I'm running mid length gas on both of my AR-15 uppers at the moment, both have milspec BCGs, and both currently eject casings at 3 o'clock.

Were I to tune this to just the amount of gas necessary to cycle the action reliably how much recoil reduction could I expect? Or is recoil reduction only a thing with lightweight BCG's? Are the advantages to these gas blocks blunted by me not having significant over-gassing issues?

Probably not a whole lot, if you are already ejecting correctly. If you shoot nothing but high power stuff and it's ejecting at 3:00 you would probably notice a bit of recoil reduction with an adjustable gas block, but if low power stuff like PMC or Wolf Gold is ejecting at 3:00 probably not.

But if you buy from an excellent retailer like BROWNELLS you could try the gas block and still return it after it's caked in carbon.
