I just figured out why the Army is adopting an Interim 308 battle rifle.

They want a next gen 6.5 assault rifle but congress won't fund it because they think it's just a waste of money like their other attempts. So instead they're pitching the 308 ICSR as an emergency stop gap intended to penetrate new Russian armor. The Army knows that a bigger bullet isn't better but they're trying to put in terms that the simpletons in congress can understand(overmatch and muh Russians).

After the 308 "Russian killer" battle rifle is officially adopted, the Army almost immediately adopts 6.5 and slowly starts re-barreling it to 6.5. Eventually the rifle becomes standard issue with the M4 serving in a sort of "SMG" role.

This is how the Army is getting it's next assault rifle, congress is so fucked that they have to sneak it right under their noses.

I doubt anyone cares but I came across some Ram Line brand mags and decided to buy them without knowing anything about them or if they would work. For those who dont know Ram-Line was a brand of Pre-Ban poly-carbon/polymer mags made for use in the AR-15, Mini-14, and AR-18. I tried them in my Olt Mall Rms Ivision SP-2 made in the late 70s.

So from what I can gather the mags are okay, but definitely only good for dirt and paper shooting. All 5 of the magazines I shot only loaded to 28 rounds before it felt like the mag was going to split apart. The worked fine until the 3rd to last round in the mag before one round failed to feed and the bolt slammed into the brass. The mags fit very tightly into the well and arent drop free, they also can be inserted to far and are hard as fuck to get out.
Side note I can not for the life of me figure out how to take them apart

TL;DR Ram Line mags are okay, not great. Not worth 40 bucks like they are online but pretty cool Pre-Ban polycarbon mags. Pretty neat idea for the time but I guess it wasnt really done as well as it probably could be. Hope you enjoyed my blog post niggers

Saw the strangest foregrip while at the range today, guy had an adjustable vertical foregrip attached to his left rail. Asked him about it but since I gave my electronic earpro to the qt3.14 with me I couldn't hear his answer too well.

accupowers are pretty good but unfortunately I can't comment on their illumination, I've heard that some people wish they were a little bit brighter in daylight

this can be avoided by getting an accupoint instead but the trade-off is that fiber optics rely on ambient light so if you're in a dark room trying to shoot into bright light, your reticle isn't going to be very bright either

I think the ultimate solution would be a tritium+fiber+battery combo that used a forward facing light sensor and an LED light shining into the fiber to dynamically augment the brightness. The drawback to that of course would be the additional weight and potential failure of the electronics.

Anyways my question centers around the ALG EMR and Magpul type 2 covers. Would you be willing to put the covers on only the 45 degree sections and take a picture from the muzzle end facing the front of the handguard. I'm curious if that is even possible and how it affects the shape of the handguard.

Also there was someone in here a while back with BCM covers on an ALG EMR but I don't remember who it was, that wouldn't be you by chance?
