Soon to be hazguns boys. Just checked my status and it says it's been issued. Pretty speedy at just under two months too.
Now I just gotta decide if I want to get an sks or a left-handed savage mark II

I love my. Savage mk2. Cheap good rifle to learn on if you good a decent scope.

The sks is a shtf rifle, i don't find it fun to shoot anymore unless i had a red dot or another scope on it.

I need this for my sks if i was gonna shoot it more

Not getting a nugget as my first gun tho.

Alberta = Saskatchewan > Manitoba > Ontario (Minus GTA) = BC (Minus Vancouver) = Basically all the Maritimes (Minus NS for plinking innawoods) > Quebec

>>
>>34898387
Dominion Arms is just their house brand. They have stuff manufactured for it in China, Canada, the US and Turkey.
>>
>>34898387
It's a rebrand of Norinco for CA. Same fit and finish, same general quality. It goes bang, it just looks ugly doing it. That said I still want it just because it would be simple for me to replace the internals when I can afford to, and gives me a cheap M16 clone in the mean time, which is what I want.
>>
>>34898438
eh gonna pass on that then. Not interested in another norinco. my m305 was a shit show until i fixed it.
>>
>>34898457
When did you buy the M305? Older models of that had inconsistent QC. The 1911 and various AR15 models haven't had that.
>IIRC Norinco is actually a representative corporation for a series of state run arsenals of varying quality and products lines which change on a year to year basis.
>>
>>34898477
4-5 years ago, got it for $400 new, then $50-$75 bucks for parts, and a legit scope mount. Havent had a single issue with it since i've fixed it so i guess theres that.
>>
>>34898495
Can't say I'm too surprised then. That's the height of the issues for that model, the last 2-3 years they have cleaned up their act for that one at least. I know their 1887 model is consistently rough though. Haven't heard anything bad about their various SIG clones though.
>>
>>34898457
Norinco isn't a manufacturer. It's an entity that all Chinese manufacturers sell through.

It's pretty good. I got one for $530, but now they're quite a bit more. The M&P15 (heavier barrel, great quality gun) as well as some of the cheap DPMS rifles are probably about the same price now. I have shot hundreds of rounds of Tula until I encountered a problem. The chamber was dirty from all that shit ammo and giving extraction issues, but now that it's clean it's running fine again. It also has an ambi safety which is nice for a lefty like me. Some day I'm gonna toss a red dot and some accessories on it to tacticool it.

>>
>>34909041
If you're patient it's possible to build an AR pretty cheap if you keep an eye out for deals or look on the CGN EE. I tried mathing out the cost of building one awhile ago and it came out to be more expensive than buying a pre built but that was a year ago.

If all you want to do though is fee float it I would just say get an M&P15 or something since its a great gun out of the box, and as far as I know all you would need to do is get a new gas block and a front sight.
>>
>>34909059

also, you know silverdale lets you shoot restricted rifles with no membership, right?

Don't rush into UT. It's my only option for shooting handgats with no membership, but I'd never buy membership there because I hate how half the people there are non-licensed normies getting the fucking call of duty tour by some staff member speaking at 300% volume one lane over. they also have no AC, so it's brutal in the summer. ventilation seemed mediocre too.

I'd read about that, that's why I got a flash can. What kind of buffer and spring are you running? And neat grip, the exposed gas tube is unique.
>>
>>34910756
how do you see through that scope?
>>
>>34910780
Not him, but focal distance means the front sight post won't block anything. And the rings are gas tube are fine. It's an AR. Build it how you want it.
>>
>>34910831
there is no comfortable shooting stance which involves getting your head low enough to see through that scope.

>focal distance means
I know how it works on a set up with normal height rings that place the post in the lowest 1/3rd, but I'm skeptical with its function at absolute co-witness. you'd have to be running serious magnification, at which point your level of magnification is being under-served by the short barrel length. everything about this build seems wrong.
>>
>>34910875
Fair enough. I'm just saying that the build will function, but as you said, probably not very well.

I could be wrong but I think it's 80$ if you send both at once.
I'd say go for it unless your restricted class doesn't happen for a while.

I've had my PAL for years but I've only just applied for my RPAL and I'm regretting not having done it sooner.
>>
>>34920719
do your restricted asap and send both in at the same time. I think there's a different fee for including restricted ($80?) but its still cheaper than if you were to send two separate applications at different times.

no but faggot leftists will lump them into instances of "gun violence"

it's a pretty great optic, but personally I find the new trijicon 1-8x the best for the price point vs quality in the variable power game.
>>
I bought pepper spray and a telescopic baton at surplus store and i wanna buy a ka-bar 1211 soon enough with some edge pro stones for super sharpness

that aside, i got my restricted weapon handling permit months ago but i still dont have my card for buying guns

what do i need to do? can i just do the papers now or do i need to sign up at a gun shooting club first?
>>

fuck off with your administrative terms idgaf i passed the course easily
>>
>>34921997
passing the course doesn't equal getting your license. did you submit an application to the rcmp?

all these documents are fucking bilingual for a reason.
>>
>>34921997
Just goes to show that you'd have to try really hard to fail this class
>>
>>34922061
no i didnt yet

>>34922070
i had 96%
>>
>>34922081
did you completely miss his point? nobody cares about the fucking grade, everyone aces it.

complete the applications forms and mail your shit. don't worry about range membership when you don't even have a license.
>>
>>34922122
cool so i get license, then range membership, then i can buy restricted guns? thats literally all i want to know. i really dont care about the exact names of all the fucking papers fucking administrative bullshit as long as i get them it's good enough
>>
>>34922140
well you described it in a way that made absolutely no sense. for the sake of communication, that isn't helpful. people stick to common terminology because its easier than everyone having their own description.

and yes your process is correct.

When I get it I'm buying either a USP or a FNX 45 thank you very much.

Glocks are not only ugly as fuck, they're downright not even fun to shoot.

Im a rabid "slavaboo" that irrationally hated glocks, until i tried one. Theyre amazing guns, but theyre just so common place and plain looking which is why i didnt like them before

Honestly you're a faggot. You don't care about the country that gives you almost limitless freedoms, but you want a patch for a fucking video game made by xenophobic chinks? Jesus christ.
>>
>>34912688

>this country is fucked

>warm food and a warm home

I mean please anon, cut this bullshit. No country is without its problems, and I don't mean that in a complacent sense, we should always strive for better. But holy shit, this place is a paradise compared to the other 90% of the planet. Even when compared to many other first world nations, we have pretty lenient gun regulation when speaking relatively.

Not even just guns, but like I said before, this country offers so much that a large portion of the rest of the world just can't.

1911: Single-action, single-stack, widely varies in price and quality by manufacturer.

Sig Sauer P220/P227 are selective double-action (fires in both single- and double-action) with a frame-mounted decocker lever, no manual safety, aluminum frame. P220 is a single stack with 8-round flush fit mags and 10-round extendos; P227 is double-stack. Both will fit holsters designed for P226. I have a P220 and it feels like I have to try to miss with it, it's great.

Fabrique Nationale Herstal FNP-45/FNX-45 are selective double action with frame mounted combination decocker and safey lever, polymer frame, double-stack mags. All controls are ambidextrous, tactical versions exist in both black and tan with extended threaded barrels, suppressor-height sights, and red-dot sight slide cutout. I had and FNP-45 and it was fun to shoot, but it has a huge grip with very aggressive stippling. My hands weren't manly enough to fully grip it or to comfortably shoot it without gloves. It wasn't a bad pistol, I sold it to fund other purchases I wanted more. Light-bearing holsters are hard to find for it, I had to butcher one made for a G21.

Glock Model 21 or 41 are pre-set striker fired with no manual safety and double-stack magazine. Model 41 is more like a plus-size with a barrel about 5 1/2 inches (see Hickok45's Nintendo Zapper). Glocks are popular for many reasons, I have a G21 and thoroughly enjoy it. Extra mags are easy to find but pricey, holsters easy to find.

CZ97 is metal-framed selective double-action with a manual safety. Decocking must be done by tweezing the hammer with the thumb and forefinger of the support hand while pressing the trigger with the shooting hand.

Springfield XD45, S&W M&P45, and Ruger SR45 also exist. They are the same configurations as Glock with variances. XD has a grip safety, M&P can be had with a manual safety, SR has a manual safety.

also H&K HK45 or Mark 23

Depends what province you live in. Some provincial governments let us peasants wear whatever protective equipment we want. Others require a license to purchase or possess ballistic armor whether hard or soft. For instance, a PAL or RPAL counts as a body armor license in AB while MB requires a separate licence (with application fee of course).

Just remember, we're restricted from protecting ourselves for our own safety.

Not him but ArmsEast stocks ALG Defense handguards, which come in M-lok flavors. I have a 13-inch with railz sections on an AR and it's breddy gud. It comes with a short rail section for a front sight and two short rail sections for accessories. It's slim with no full-length cheeze grater on top so perfect for thumb-over bore/c-clam/tactical dymanic grip.

Please ignore the godawful vert grip/light mount combo.
