Move to Quebec, most people outside the cities hunt so most homes have a gun in it and most people in the cities are familiar enough with crime AND military culture (theres a gorillion units around) that no one really dislikes guns that much or thinks they're that foreign an object

There's some lefties who are anti-gun just because it's part of the leftie aesthetic, but most people here are okay with Canadian gun laws once they're actually explained to them.

>bbbut the premiere wanted the long gun registry!!

Honestly though, what is the risk in taking a RPAL AR-15 to shoot deep innawoods? You can place a camera at the entrance of the property, and a live feed at your firing position, to see whether any cop cars arrive, which gives you plenty of time to hide your AR and 30rd illegal mags.

You also need to choose a certified gunsmith and/or range somewhere beyond the property where you'll be choosing. That way, if you get pulled over and questioned on your AR, you can show your RPAL and tell the cops that you are on your way to the gunsmith/range, ensuring plausible deniability.
>>
>>34864096
Please help me find flaws in my logic.
>>
>>34864096
Pretty sure people here go shooting innawoods with restricteds all the time. Nobody is gonna really know, and if you're really far innawoods you'll probably never see a cop.
>>
>>34863707
I'd rather try to just get a K11 for cheaper. I'm not even that into them but they were cool when they were affordable.
>>
>>34864096

Theyre just super careful and only care if you have handguns and arent poaching, ive been stopped by fish cops with unpinned mags and they said we were lucky we didnt get stopped by the rcmp with them, also helps that we all had our id and pals ready and identified ourselves right away. They got spooked by our pistol holsters.
>>
>>34865464

>>

>ive never dealt with the police while armed past the teeth
I've run into a CO while carrying all our shit back from shooting. He asked if we are hunting, said no and we clearly don't have the weapons for it. He agreed, wished us a good day and fucked off. This was in the lower mainland of BC, so its not unlikely to see them. Especially during hunting season or near popular fishing holes.

All you have to do is run into some dickhead who wants to fuck your shit up. Then again, if you live in bumfuck nowhere within BC, NWT or Yukon..You could probably reenact the battle of kursk and nobody will ever notice.
>>
>>34865603

Who is the Norinco of black powder guns?
I want a few cheap muskets, carbines, and pistols. Flintlocks, caplocks, and maybe a wheellock.
And I don't want to pay pedersoli prices and I actually intend to use the things, so I don't care so much for pedersoli finishes.
Also I know some woodworkers and a smith who can all do custom shit anyway. No need for it to be pretty out of the box.

So.
Cheap black powder guns?
>>
>>34867805
You can find modern in lines for really cheap just before and just after muzzle loading season if you check armslist. There's about 6 inlines and 10 "traditional" muzzle loaders all under 200 dollars in my area.
>>
What are your preferences when buying guns online? I'm looking at buying a sig p320 even with the current issue with dropfiring. Cabela's wants $800, firearmsouletcanada wants 665 marked down from 719, and bullseyelondon wants 755. So what's the difference?
>>
>>34867843
Cabela's in store usually price matches, don't know if it has to be a local shop or what
>>
>>34861778
It only allows that within your province of residence. If you want to to go an out-of-province range, you need to get an ATT from your CFO to the provincial border, and the other provinces CFO from the border to the range.

Basically, he says that "As a small-bore shooter", he finds it absolutely terrible that people can purchase and target shoot with .45 caliber firearms. He uses the term "épouvantable" to describe the power of said rounds, which roughly translates to "appalling" or "atrocious" in the sense of it being "too powerful".

FYI, unless things have changed in recent years, the Fédération Québécoise de Tir that this asshole was representing in that hearing is the sole body which does firearm safety courses in the province. They are government funded and are 100% sellouts who throw all gun owners under the bus.

I was born in Montreal and spent a quarter century living in various parts of the province before getting the fuck out and moving to Ontario. If you have any questions about life in Quebec, I'll do my best to answer any questions.
>>
>>34869492
IIRC, there are gunsmiths that specialize in upgrading Norinco 1911's, but you'll learn a lot more doing it yourself.

Other than a trigger job, you may also want to polish the feed ramp and any bearing surfaces like the rails.

>COs acted a certain way towards me, so that means all COs, even those employed by a different provincial government subject to different legislation will act the same.

You probably don't know this, but COs on the East coast can literally charge you with poaching (and many have) for simply being in the woods with a gun that can't be used to take the game that they are legally allowed to shoot.

I imagine other provinces Police Acts are the same, but COs are peace officers under the Police Act here and can make an arrest in regards to Criminal Code of Canada violations such as having unpinned magazines or prohibited firearms possessions.

>If shit goes south well then you better be very good at persuasion and intimidation
If you think you are going to intimidate a police officer or CO, you are fucking stupid. Most cops receive tangible death threats from affiliated gang members/bikers/mentally ill criminals on an almost monthly basis. Some aspie in the woods dressed in flecktarn with the physique of a 15 year old swimmer isn't going to faze 99% of cops.

It really comes down to how far north you're talking about.
In my experience, no. There are a lot of gun owners, but very few of them have RPAL's (Most of them fire maybe a dozen shots per year. A few to sight in their scope and the rest for harvesting meat). In 2015, Ontario had more Prohib licensees than Quebec had Restricted licensees.
There's the "Loi 9" which requires you to pass YET ANOTHER safety course for you to be able to enjoy Restricted firearms and then there's the whole registry clusterfuck.

Well, to answer your question, we need a majority government because there's only one party that isn't anti-gun and even within that party we have to make sure the right people are in charge.

We need to act like ambassadors. Introduce people to shooting. When firearm legislation comes up, be the voice of reason. We have truth on our side and that's the most powerful weapon.

It's in fashion to bash millennials, but can you name a millennial who has never played a FPS before? Even hipsters are getting into firearms.

>>
>>34882191
Quebec. Everybody knows that.
>>
>>34882191

>>
>>34882592
Yeah, pretty much. What's up with Ontario thinking they're the shit in so many areas? I mean they're definitely the shit when it comes to mosquitoes and blackflies, but how is it the rest of us are just supposed to choke down their version of 'humour' which is just never funny, or their en masse adoption of American hip-hop culture? It's a bit strange. Of course Ontarians and especially Torontonians have long thought of themselves as *being* Canada. But why? Because Parliament is there?

As for Quebec... yeah, okay, Quebec is pretty great in some respects. But the Catholicism and racism are a bit past their due date. Time to get yourselves into the current century Quebec. Whiteness is fading out, polyculturalism is moving in, and ethnic enclaves notwithstanding (there'll be a few, I'm sure) there won't be any 'whites' to form a movement within another couple of centuries. Get over it.

Just be glad it didn't happen with something more expensive. I learned with a Meprolight. Get a prism scope now that you know.
>>
>>34884979
Yeah I only spent $200 on it. It's not as bad when viewed outdoors, at least, but it's still annoying. I'll use it for awhile and see how I feel, but I can probably make most of what I spent back by selling it again on reddit or cgn.

Are there any good, inexpensive prism red dot sights out there of note?
>>
>>34884955

What does the dot look like to you because of your astigmatism?

I see two blurry dots when I look through my Aimpoint micro without my prescriptions.

It's a starburst effect where the dot kinda flares out, instead of being crisp and clear.

I know that feel, I was really excited to buy an Aimpoint PRO for my first AR but then I looked through a red dot, then another and another and 3 or 4 more but all are a blurry mess.

I ended up buying a Spitfire AR (I assume you were talking about the sparc, its the red dot) and it works great. Astigmatism sucks but 1x prism scopes are pretty good.

How long does RPAL upgrade application last?

I've already done the NR course.
The restricted course I have is at the end of September. I'm deciding between sending the PAL application now, or wait till end of September and sending both applications.

Please help out a newfriend

I've done CFSC, can submit PAL application right now.
My CRFSC is at end of September.

Do I wait till then to submit RPAL applications, or do I submit PAL application now then submit RPAL upgrade at end of September?

Plenty of ranges.

Also there are plenty of innawoods shooting spots, but the minute you post about them in a public space they get ruined by fags who don't clean up after themselves, who break laws, etc which gets the cops called. Look on crown land maps and find your own.

They do.

>>
>>34887171
I haven't worked for either of those companies and cannot attest to whether internal communication is done in English or French. Can you? All you've done is been dismissive. Just how much of your personal identity is tied to the province?
>>
>>34887171
>>34887204

I'm not bantsanon, but this could be relevant to the subject at hand.

>All workers in Quebec have the right to work in French. They can speak and write in French and ask for French work documents and tools, including computer software.
>Workers can't be fired or refused a job just because they don't know English or another language well enough. The only exception is if the job has to be done in another language. An example is a call centre job that involves talking to people in the United States on a regular basis.

So this is basically the law concerning language in workplaces.
