For cheap plink ammo I've been getting wolf gold 55g for about $270/1000rd cases from an lgs that price matches. For nice heavier Target loads I've been picking up the 160 round packs of Prvi partisan 75g HPBT for around 70 bucks if I shop around. What is the twist rate of your barrel? There are better 77 grain loads from black hills you could work with if you don't mind the cost and really want to push your accuracy out father.

My rifle isn't the prettiest, but I try to work on shooting more than aesthetics.

I don't have one but if I were building a precision .308 AR that's what I'd use. The guarantee is all that matters, because it means they will take the barrel back if it doesn't perform in your gun. Paying more for the same thing makes no sense; you won't do much better than 1 MOA, even that is a lofty goal for an autoloader.

The the Aero, being basically the same price as the Ballistic Advantage, is inferior to the literally identical Ballistic Advantage.

One could buy an Aero, a quality product manufactured by BA, and end up with better than 1 MOA accuracy. But if it weren't better than 1 MOA, the user would then have to troubleshoot and replace parts on their own dime in search of accuracy.

One could take that same money and buy the same barrel from BA instead, and be guaranteed that barrels will be replaced over and over until one that works with the host gun is found.

That's the whole point of the accuracy guarantee, and without it, it's just a pipe. You might get lucky or you might not.

I went through this with my old .308, it was so frustrating trying to get that thing to 1 MOA even WITH the Rainier Arms warranty. I went through four barrels and $1,000 in parts swaps to get to 1 MOA.

I ended up trading it for my Remington 700 LTR plus cash and have been much much happier with the bolt action.

tl;dr The barrel accuracy guarantee is literally worth hundreds of dollars.
