AR builder noob here. My black upper receiver(aero precision) has a VERY tight fit to my lower receiver(same brand) to the point I have to tap the break down pins loose with a mallet. I didn't have this problem with a fde cerakote upper receiver(also AP brand). It was just fine.

TL;DR - how to fix very tight fit between upper and lower receiver, or possibly the fitment of the pins.

On the other hand, the 806 seemed promising so far, even though I only had enough time to put a single mag through it during the demo.

Anyway, why would you think the EC directive is going to affect 806 imports?
CZ is pretty hungry for $$$ and the EU civilian market is tiny, it would make zero sense for them to drop the semi 806 just because they won't be able to sell it in the EU.
And it's not even true that they won't - rifles already manufactured as semi are a-ok, and they either make them 60+ cm or make the folder inoperable.

Doesn't the Savage base model hit $499 sometimes? Seems like that would be a good deal. I've seen the Springfield Saint in $650 territory, and of course you can always get a Colt LE6920. Aero sells complete rifles and furnitureless rifles for fair prices.

That said, nothing wrong with the S&W or the Ruger. I prefer the S&W myself but just because the billet front sight on the Ruger looks odd.

Can I legally own a rifle ar without having to get a stamp for an sbr?

Additionally, if I get a stamp for an sbr (with all the doodads for a complete build), but later get another ar lower, do I have to get another stamp since that potentially could be built as an sbr as well (that whole constructive possession thing)?

Every rifle lower needs a functional rifle upper. As long as you have a pistol or SBR lower, you can have multiple short barrel uppers, but any rifle lower has to have a corresponding legal length upper. If I get what you're asking

If you have a pistol lower, a 7.5 upper, a 10.3 upper, and a rifle lower, you're in trouble

If you have a pistol lower, a 7.5 upper, a 10.3 upper, and a rifle lower with a 16" upper, you're okay

Basically, if once all your lowers are put together into complete guns, if there's no way for one of the lowers to meet a legal configuration, you're in the shit.

You can even take the rifle upper off the rifle lower and leave the rifle lower empty, but you have to have a 16" upper in your possession that belongs to that lower to not get killed by the ATF.
