I've been carrying mostly 9mm's for the past few years, but I want to step it up for some more power.

I want the most power in the most controllable round that'll handle well in your typical compact frame.

Should I go .357 sig, .40, or .45 acp?

That would be a pain to stick under your pants.

>controllable round
No round is controllable when it's chambered in a SIG 320. SIG stands for "self inflicted gunshot."

I carry a glock 29 10MM. Its the same size as a glock 17, hardly larger than an M&P compact, and can put down a bear.
>>
Stopping power in self defence is a myth. A .22 in your eye socket will kill you the same as a 9mm.

Shot placement is far more important to save yourself than the calibre of the round.

>>34820355
12in .357 magnum

9mm is the perfect caliber. Period.
>>
>>34820369
9mm hollowpoint is my carry and knowing its there makes every walk in the city/forest feel great. Either nothing happens, or something great happens.

You shoot for the center of the mass you nogun Canuck faggot. Contrary to call of duty belief, it's not very easy to hit a 360 no scope headshot under pressure. A 22 in the tum tum won't do shit.
>>
>>34820367
That's pretty much bullshit in a real life encounter where everything is happening faster than you can process. Just have to go for center mass, and hope you get good damage.

9mm = more rounds for you to miss with.
Real men (by that I mean me) use well placed .45 acp.
>>
You need something with a bigger diameter like .357 or .38 special .
>>
>>34820355

OP is a faggot.
9mm will kill, it just take twice as many rounds

I shoot really well with 357sig, timed and slow fire.

There is little practical difference in the terminal balistics. Unless you are willing to go to 10mm or a magnum revolver, ther rest of the available calibers are up to personal preference, and maybe a couple other factors

.357 highest energy, snappy, expensive, I like it
.40 medium energy, snappy, cheap, abundant
.45 frontal area, 1911s, low capacity, proven
10mm big, high energy, low capacity, deadly
.357mag high energy, expensive, proven
.41 mag high energy, rare, expensive, proven
.44 maghigher energy, more expensive, dirty harry, reloading, RECOIL
.45 colt Versitile, reloading, cowboy shit, fun
.454 casull RECOIL, deadly
.460 s&w fucking RECOIL, deadly

.500 overkill

YOU WOULDNT WANT TO STAND IN FRONT OF ONE, NOW WOULD YA!?!

I wouldnt want to stand in front of a piss filled super soaker, doesnt mean I'm gonna carry one.
>>
>>34820379
Nani?
>>
>>34820355
You don't need more power than a 9mm; You need more training.

Go get you some, and then carry 147gr PDX1's or a similar load

So 9x19mm
>>
Is it a gay idea to get a Glock 32 and then just get a .40 barrel?
>>
>>34821382
Precisely
>>
>>34821382
You misspelled .357 Sig anon
>>
>>34820355
9mm is ideal for CC. Adequate power and good capacity.

The highest I'd carry is .40, and personally I wouldn't make the investment to buy one and feed it. I only own one because it was given to me for free. The upside is you can get .40's for very cheap, though it'll cost more to train with than 9mm.

Protip: shoot +P through that bad boy and you've got yourself a cheap 10mm bear killer.

.40, then 10mm.

Not memes.
>>
>>34821389
Not at all. It's what I did, since .40 is about half the cost and the guns are identical part-for-part with the exception of barrels. Just make sure it is a Glock 23 barrel you're getting.

Bulk .40 for practice, .357 SIG for carry
>>
>>34820365
Trying to trigger /k/ I see.
>>
>>34820355
20mm or .50bmg is the only option.
>>
BFR in .30-30 or go home
>>
>>34820505
You dumb shit, in a properly executed self defensive shooting it's most likely that the guy you shoot at attempting to attack you with a deadly weapon. Adrenaline rushing strong as fuck and you think a .22 is going to stop him? Theres a reason the term "man stopper" exists, it stops an attacker in his fucking tracks so wont fight through the pain of a small caliber and still get to you.
>>
>>34820361
but .45 is literally inferior to 10mm in every conceivable way.
>>
The judge is obviously the best gun for concealed carry+power.
>>
>>34821285
What if it was filled with doe urine and you were goin hunting?
