I highly recommend it. I picked up the whiteboard for like $7 on clearance after school started back up last year and spent an afternoon counting everything but my bulk .22LR. Every time I go to the range I just subtract however many rounds I'm taking with me from the total, erase, then update it. Same deal with keeping loaded mags; I just tack it onto the end of the line as the "+X" so I don't spend time rummaging through dozens of AR/Glock/Scorpion/AK mags trying to figure out how many rounds I've got ready to go.

Every now and then I snap a picture of the whiteboard and upload it into Microsoft OneNote too, which it automatically cleans up as a scan. I keep a little note in there with a scan of the whiteboard and the current market price of each caliber I shoot on a semi-regular basis so I can quickly pull up how many rounds I have of whatever and see if it's worth biting on deals at brick and mortar stores.

So visibility was good enough to go to the range today. I shot everything from 25m standing to ~450m supported and I have to say, "rifle is fine," is definitely true. I've been going back and forth on getting an optic for it and I think I'm just going to leave it as is. The slav T1 knock off or Rakurs sure do look enticing. Especially the Rakurs since I have astigmatism.

Wolf ammo really is shit though, holding the same sight picture at 450m I would have one round go above the plate and the next one would be 6ft below it. Totally shit ammo, and most of the round were stupidly low, it's definitely underloaded ammo.

I'm also going to replace the Arsenal trigger for sure. It's gritty crap and failed to reset on me once.

4.5mm is the most standard stock pin size the other is 5.5mm, most likely you will never see this size pin. You can only put a folding stock on a right that has a rear folding stock trunnion installed. Otherwise for a fixed rifle you need an adapter to utilize a side folding stock.

You can fix the deact bolt carrier or weld up a standard AK74 bolt/carrier for blowback, Vityaz uses a pretty standard receiver.

Anyone with enough mechanical aptitude to change the oil in a car can see the similarities between the trigger and bolt on an AK and M1 if they give it 30 seconds of critical thought. It triggers me to no end that just because an AK bolt has an extra bulge "gun" people don't see how it works just like an M1s. Conversely the same is true for when they think the StG44 and AKM are the same because they have a similar general outline and are stamped metal. The StG44 doesn't even have the same magazine release ffs, let alone anything about it's operating system.

Interesting. I wasn't aware of too many private builders working on their own Vityaz clones aside from Volk (if that's even up for consideration any more), Zasta, and a couple guys on the Files. I tend to follow this stuff pretty closely too.

Got any links or are these just guys you know about?
