The carbines are restricted length and the cost of getting a custom barrel makes it not worth while over a sub2k.

I think that countries should assert their independence not celebrate being ruled by a foreign power.

Also yeah, monarchy is retarded, even when it's symbolic. Also the parliamentary system is bad and should be replaced with a presidential one for greater separation of powers.

Ensigns as a design can be okay, but I thought ours had too many clashing colours. Australia's is probably the best since the blue background matches the Union Jack.

Also Taiwan's would be good if they had something on the red field.

I'm just more triggered by how people who bitch about muh Union Jack and muh queen are usually insufferable bootlickers.

Do you think it was worth the price?

I can afford one no problem but if it's not worth its cost I'll just get a nice SKS or something

I bought mine when they were still going for a thousand bucks, so at that price I think it was worth it. The $1350 to $1500 they're going for nowadays seems a bit iffy IMO.

Honestly it makes sense if you think about it. Animals can't really bullied into fucking something they don't want to the same way humans can. If the animal mounts and fucks as they do, then it clearly wants to breed. Whereas if you stick your dick in an animal it can't exactly tell the police about it.

Just get a blackmarket AR and pistol. It's the same as RPAL AR because I can take neither to plink innawoods.

Difference is, with no RPAL, I don't have to worry about RCMP searching my house with a warranty (suspicion of having more than 10 guns), and finding my fully loaded Mossberg sitting beside my bed.
>>
>>34692177
same poster. I will never take an AR (blackmarket or RPAL) to a certified range to plink because I'd have to pay an annual membership fee ON TOP OF an entry fee each time I go.

>tfw there are no courses near you for either license so you can't get a rifle for hunting or revolver for can shooting

It hurts anons
>>
>>34692186
So

BM AR: unable to plink innawoods (risk too high to be stopped and search driving to/from)
unable to plink at range.

BM pistol: possible to plink innawoods (easier to high in car, easier to hide while innawoods)
unable to plink at range

RPAL AR/pistol: same as above, cheaper, with the added option of paying exorbitant range prices just to plink them legally in an extremely boring location.

With this added option that the RPAL provides I now have the risk of RCMP searching my residence with a warrant (suspicion of 10+ guns) and finding fully loaded HD shotgun.

So what do /k/bros? Please help me solve my conundrum.
>>
>>34692212
Ah yes, there's another factor to my problem. RPAL pistols don't even have what I want, which is compact pistol that I can easily CC should the need arise. RPAL pistols have barrel length limits. BM pistols can be CCed better.

So, should I get RPAL or noRPAL? BM or legit AR? BM or legit pistol?
>>
>>34692220
Or should I just resign myself to an overpriced, underperforming (compared to the AR) VZ 58 to be able to plink with friends innawoods?

Lets say hypothetically, something bad is coming up. There will be lots of death. The Happening can start anywhere from the next week to within 3 months at the most and will last 3-5 months. You arent sure what it is, maybe its a plague, collapse of law/infrastructure, famine, invasion from another country, or a solar flare.

What is everything a Canadian without a firearm license can do to prepare?
>What are some simple ranged/hunting weapons that anyone can get a hand on?

AR
>Cheaper more available parts
>Lighter weight
>10rd pistol mag for legal range plinking
>More accurate
>MUCH less recoil
>easier to mount optics
>better ergonomics

Basically AR has much more bang for your buck than VZ

>>
>>34695805
there are no paper ATTs anymore, your RPAL is your ATT for all your restricteds as the transportation conditions are now attached to the license.
as long as you are the member of that range or the range is ok with your brining Rs as a guest (most are not, without at least proof of membership from somewhere else that shows you did range safety course at some other club), and as long as the range is cerfiied for Restricted, you can double lock your shit and go there. same goes for gunsmiths, gun stores, gun shows and port of entry if you are traveling with your Rs. you don't have to apply and wait for a long term or short term ATT anymore if you have one of the newer RPALs with special conditions attached (if you have a pre-change card, new one is automatically printed and sent to you the moment you buy another R)

if you are you asking about the Registeation/Transfer process, that length of time depends entirely on the province. BC and NB can take a couple days, Ontario can take a month or more (mainly due to the fact that they're understaffed and the amount of people into restricted black rifles and handguns in Ontario is the highest in Canada, so the wait times are also the longest)
>>
>>34695805
varies from province, ontario takes 4-6 weeks they say. Got a gun the other day and the guy said applications are taking 2 weeks now which is nice.
>>
>>34695711
He wouldnt sell you anything to begin with, hed just tell you to find them yourself, its actually fairly easy, it just requires making friends with the right old people
>>
Does the ATT between the store and your house get created when you buy the gun or is there a waiting period?
Knowing how impatient I am I'm sure as hell running to my LGS as soon as I get my RCMP mail envelope
>>
Do I need a STATT to make my restricteds to BC for plinking? If so, who's going to check?
>>
>>34695992
yeah , pick out the gun and the form gets filled out. They send the form, review it, send it back, then call you and say you can pick it up.
so you gotta wait at least a few days before you can get a restricted gun
>>
>>34692177

Uh...having more than 10 guns is not a criminal offence. Judges issue warrants when LEO's believe evidence of a crime is present there (that is, persons/property will be found). A judge wouldn't issue a warrant for what's a essentially a fishing expedition.

Good job familia
>>
>>34696310
I'm beginning to think you don't know what a strawman is
>>
>>34696365

It's not as fictitious as you think, considering that such scenarios basically existed in North America in the early 20th century in places like Pullman Town. Workers there were required to live on company property and pay them for rent, electricity, water, etc at much higher rates than normal, and go into debt to the company to do so. This meant That they couldn't leave before their debt was paid, but it grew faster than they could pay it. They were literally serfs. How would this be prevented in AnCapistan?
>>
>>34696428
>the stifling of competition by the strong arm of the law is an-cap because i dont' understand what it means
that's not ancap. that's corporatist, the use of state power to secure corporate wealth and power.
>>
>>34696452

There already exist today that are larger and more powerful than medium sized countries. Do you seriously think that they won't act in similar capacity to a state? Who is going to stop them?
>>
>>34696479

*corporations lager/more powerful than some countries
>>
>>34696479
>>34696493
you do realize that no an-cap societies exist in the world right?
all the largest corporations in the world use the power of the government (usually US) to enforce their will on people.
if the state didn't have the power to make people slaves and to steal their wealth, corporations wouldn't have that power either

additionally, corporations are strictly non-ancap, as it goes against the private ownership of wealth. corporations are not owned by anyone, rather they are entities given "life" by a state. they are above the law, in the sense that if a corp is responsible for someone's death it is not tried and imprisoned or executed (dissolved), rather it is fined and fee'd
>>
>>34696479
They never would've gotten this powerful if it wasn't for states.
>>
Anybody not too far from Montreal wants an Auto-5?
>>
>>34696526
Not necessarily true, Rockerfeller became the richest man in American history not by government handouts, but by dominating the small oil refinery industry in the country and used brutal business tactics to drive out any competition by drastically lowering refinery costs that other smaller companies couldn't compete with and eventually drive them out of business.
>>
>>34696524
>>34696526

>They never would've gotten this powerful if it wasn't for states.

Why not? With every dollar they reinvest into their company, every competitor they crush, their ability to expand grows exponentially. It isn't hard to imagine corporations large enough to muscle competitors out of the market mafia style. Even a smaller corporation could do this to its competitors. If one company sends hired guns to wipe out their competitors, who is going to stop them?

I want to get an AR but I'm poorfag. Is Norinco's CQ-A a viable cheap alternative or is it just trash to be avoided?
>>
an-caps online are usually impressionable NEETs who watched too many Molymeme and Alex Jones videos.

socialism and communism being obvious garbage doesn't make an-cap any better, it's a different side of the same extreme simpleton coin.

the only people who would benefit from an an-cap society would be the elites.
t's funny to watch people gripe about "dah jooz!",Soros and the bankers or "the cabal of the elites" and then in the same breath advocate for a society where these people would have their own armies and you would be a literal slave to them, not just a wage slave or a debt slave.

because of overatock in US, they're the same price as Norinco -- you get an American made AR by one of the oldest gun manufacturing companies, which gives you a literal lifetime warranty on it, vs what is a decent AR, but Norinco

also
>>34697109
Norinco isn't fully to standard spec in some areas, so certain handguards won't fit, some barrel nuts won't fit. not sure about the gas system seat. trigger is to spec.

S&W on the other hand is milspec as far as dimensions are concerned (yeah the bold isn't M4 FA bolt and the barrel is nitrated instead of chromed, but that's not what we're talking about). also, they are reported to have surprisingly good triggers and be above average in terms of accuracy (possibly due to the barrel being on the thicker side)

it's up to you, Norcs used to be a no brained budget recommendation when they were $499 and $599, while the cheapest S&W, Ruger and Colts were over $1100
but because of the supply-demand imbalance in US we have a massive sale on S&W while Norinco is in the $700 and above range, which is why I see no reason to go with a Norinco, when you can have a S&W for the same price

Yup, men have to stop cucking themselves to shitty women. MGTOW exists for a reason, men are getting sick of their shit. If I ever give actual thought to having kids or getting married, it will be after I've been with a chick for years, know she holds traditional conservative values, and that there's an outstandingly low chance of her ever dropping the "I'm not happy" bomb to divorce me and take me for all she can get her whore hands on while also ripping my kids away from me and getting the Government to force me to pay her for having done so.

So yeah, I'm not putting up with extreme bullshit like that, and I'm not going to put up with 'small' bullshit like motorcycles or cats. I have neither, but if the issue is money then I'd tell her to get a job instead of thinking of some of the things I have that I could sell. In terms of cats, her having a new dog and me having cats I've had since they were kittens are two EXTREMELY different things. I would not budge on the matter, and more men should take such a stance. If they fear that her getting unhappy could mean their life being turned upside-down in a divorce, then they fucked up in choosing a woman that they can't fully trust.

Haven't shot the 1911 yet, planning on doing so shortly. Had to strip it down and remove as much of the cosmoline as was there. Which surprisingly there wasn't all that much.

Its based on other people's experiences. For example, Chinese ammunition was prone to being absolute shit about 20 years back and people stayed away from it. It has since gotten a lot better.

You'll see a lot of people talking about issues of Chinese AR-15 an M305 from years back that had issues. Which is why it is better to get more recent batches as they have been less likely to be absolute lemons. Plus you can find plenty of people on youtube using Norinco firearms within recent years.

There can still be issues depending on the firearm, but that is why you should do your due diligence as a consumer and research what you can. Purchase from an informed opinion, not merely dumb luck.

>>34698106
I doubt I have anything you'd be interested in getting to be honest. What price would you put the K31 for and would you be willing to ship (I'm in Ontario).
>>
>>34698187
Ah ok I got you.

Ok, so that solves the problem of loaded HD gun. I guess hiding the AR apart from other guns would work while driving to/from innawoods.

But that still doesn't solve the problem being busted while shooting the AR innawoods though.

Some nosey neighbor or some city kids camping get triggered by gunshots, call the cops. You're there shooting your AR and only hear the officer come up behind you 15 feet away. What do
>>

I'm fairly new to Ottawa and don't have any friends, and given the popularity of the Canadian guns subreddit it was reasonable to assume there are people who frequent both websites without experiencing rage/elitism.

I mentioned the meetup to /k/ in case someone from here was wanting to try something different than what they do every other Saturday night of their lives but generally lacked Things To Do and/or People To See or who're worried that once they get to a social event, what will they say?

So I mentioned on here that I was going to let others here know there's at least one person there with whom they'd have something in common.

>>
>>34698006

>>
>>34698269
Nothing. It's not a crime, but they can still obtain a warrant for that. They do apparently ask you nicely before trying for a warrant though, so gives you plenty of time to sort your shit out.
>>
>>34698222
Not only that. Even if you see/know the officer is coming (friends at the front of the property warn the shooter in the middle of the woods) and hide your AR temporarily, they can still take the plate number of the car you parked at the front of the property. They then pull you over on your return trip, and search the car.

I have a Viking with 6 magazines. (A couple hundred rounds through it)

Two CZ, a 75B Omega (and a kadet 2 kit) and a 85B

Two AR-15 (Norinco Upper on a A2 built lower and an Olympic Arms A1)

M84 Skorpion

Alfa Proj .357 4.2 inch barrel

Tok Pistol (replaced the barrel)

Norinco 1911 (along with the CZ85 I just recently got).

Nothing of supreme high value on the whole. I'm a little attached to the CZ and the Kadet Kit 2.

Not too attached to the Viking or the Tok (have a lot of ammunition for it on the whole). I might be interested in giving up the Norinco 1911.

Might be interested in giving up the Norinco Upper as well. Doesn't require registration and I got it for about $500 from Ellwood Epps.

Everything else would be off the table. Really enjoying the Skorpion and the Revolver.

You would simply buy a new G26 barrel next time you're in the US. I assume that's what all the guys do that own G26's and similar guns in Canada.

I can afford .308 no problem but I'd still appreciate spending less on ammo. Plus I think I'm finally getting close to the point of being a halfway decent shooter and needing a more accurate rifle.

Shotgun? Could get a cheap break action single shot to fuck around with.
>>
>>34700440
Get a bolt action 223 man. If you build a Savage with a decent barrel that has a quick twist, you can push heavy bullets to 800 yards easy. It'll still shoot lighter varmint stuff fine too.
>>
>>34700445

>>34700447
I think that would be the reasonable thing to do even if the Vz gets my dick rock hard.
>>
>>34700454
Got RPAL? Honestly I had a Vz in 7.62x39 NR, sold it because it was completely meh, then I bought two RPAL Vzs in 556, both again left me completely cold...

Maybe it's just me but I just can't seem to care for them, I would hope that if you side with the Vz, that you do not also get my lack of enthusiasm.

by whom, the couple of drunken Slavs at Westeifle that sell Mosins and SKS and periodically try to trick CGNers into panic buying, but unsuccessfully trying to spread the rumor about SKS drying up (going on like 4 years now and every year they keep trying anyway), those guys?

They originally promised screw in barrels and then realized they can't actually do it, no tooling for that.

Who honestly believes they can make steel VZ receivers and press-fit the barrel onto them? they don't even make small aluminum shit like accessories and rail mounts, which means they don't have a basic CNC, and a steel receiver on a VZ is way above what say an AR lower requires, press fitting the barrel is also not just screwing it in with a barrel but, needing only a decent torque wrench and a table vice, like for the AR.

What, they suddenly got a soviet style weapinds factory in their basement? They haven't even done shit like offer us a bubba'd SKS or some other stepping stone, they just went from selling milsurp to MANUFACTURING the VZ? Fooking wot? Ae yoo fokin kidden mey?!

Let me tell you what is really happening:

1) they will get some barreled overrunn receivers from CZ or some leftovers at Chezhpoint USA or order some from CSA (they will request that barrels be melonited, maybe request a different re-finish to make them look new), get their logo, name of the rifle with own custom serial number on them
2) they will get Czhech surplus parts kits and get someone to beadblasr and re-finish those
3) they will assemble them in their office, garage or basement -- a job most of you could do with household tools and a few YouTube videos

rifles were put together in Canada, they were just a bags of parts and then the Westrifle made them into rifles -- Made in Canada!

It would come with all 6 magazines, and I'd expect an RPAL before purchasing. I will run them by the CFO office to verify them seeing as how I'd have to transfer the registration anyway.

Based on my costs (and with inflation) I'd be looking at selling the Viking (with all accessories and magazines it came with)for $820. That'd cover any shipping I'd need to pay for and transfer costs.

If that other anon wants to trade his K31 for the Viking that'd be cool but I will leave it up to him to decide on his response.

Pic related is another picture of the Viking I took back when I first got it. Along with one of the magazines for it. It isn't pinned, but the magazine base has a slightly larger block that stops it to 10.

Due note that the magazines are not your typical pistol magazines. You can't use speed loaders with them, as they are more like rifle magazines than pistol magazines.

You basically load them like you would an AR-15 Magazine. I had to find a youtube video to figure that one out.
>>
>>34702456
For what it's worth, dual-feed magazines are more reliable and higher capacity than double-stack single-feed, though it's more work to properly design the gun that they are used in.
>>

>>
>>34689445
just get a tokarev you fucking pleb
>>
>>34706044
Sks is more accurate than a vz, better build quality, and is simply more aesthetic, vz is only better cause it has 30rd mags you can actually use in pouches, and is technically easier to convert to full auto, sks is super easy but not meant to fire on full auto at all so youll damage it over time, fairly quickly too
>>
>>34706093
But that's all wrong, except for the bit about breaking the SKS to get it to fire full auto.
>>
>>34706093
My hands are a bit bigger and I hate the SKS, plus the stock is quite short. The safety gets in the way.

After having shot with both a VZ58 and an AK47 I'd take those two over the SKS in terms of handling.
>>
>>34706108
But its not. Sks's are inherently more accurate than a vz58, and vzs look like dogshit compared to an sks or ak. Unless the vz had really nice custom wood furniture then they look okay.
>>
>>34706146
Where are you getting this nonsense about SKSs being more accurate, and also arguing aesthetics is retarded.
>Hurr my personal opinion is worth more than your personal opinion.
>>
>>34706152
Are you saying sks's arent accurate? Im not saying vzs are inaccurate, im just stating sks's are slightly more accurate than them
>>
>>34706182
I'm not saying SKSs are inaccurate. I own both, and I've personally always shot better with the VZ58, so I'm asking what you're basing the assertion that SKSs are more accurate on.
>>
>>34706213
Cause im far more accurate with my sks than any vz ive shot. But ive also put damn near 10000rds through my sks and only ever practiced hitting 8in targets. I wonder if i still have my target when i got crazy good groups at 100m. Ill post that if i find it
>>
>>34706213
Not him, but in terms of regular barrel length the SKS would technically have better muzzle velocity. However, if you own a VZ 58 in non restricted barrel length you'd probably be close to the same muzzle velocity.

Of course dedicated and repeatable tests would determine which one is more accurate.
>>
>>34706260
Well that's just it. I have an NR VZ58. The issue is that I'm not seeing any formal tests done that prove his claims.
>>34706231
By all means, but I'm looking for something a little more than personal experience.
>>
>>34706260
I know for a fact sks's are more reliable that vzs and even aks its astonishing. I seen sks's run damn near perfectly after having hundreds of rounds through them and not being cleaned for months while being stored in a humid basement. Like the piston om the one i saw was seized im place, but one round cleared that right up.
