So a friend and I bought a shitty polymer lower for $30, a Bear Creek complete upper with bcg for $200, and then the absolute cheapest lower parts kit and accessories on ebay. After a coat of some cheap spraypaint this is the safety hazard abomination we are left with. Will let you know if anyone dies when we go to shoot it later this week.

Parts so far: Failzero BCG, Faxon 416r Nitride carbine gas 10.5 barrel, Aero standard upper, and Aero lower. Nothing else so far. Will probably go with a kak brace, and standard BCM or spikes lpk whenever I have some extra monies.

Alright boys, same faggot with the canted barrel-clamped magpul foregrip from a few nights ago.

I was at a machine gun shoot yesterday and I got to shoot an m16a1 and holy fuck it was so goddamn smooth. There was absolutely no fucking grittyness at all in the action and it was way easier to pull back the charging handle. This is obviously a very well worn rifle however how can I get the same smoothness from my own mostly-stock DPMS Oracle? I've put probably 1000-1500 rounds through her, and i can see some of the finish wearing away at certain points on the BCG, but she still feels gritty. I keep her very well lubed with remoil and clean her after every time i shoot. However, I'm thinking about doing a few things to smooth her action more and i wanted to ask for input:
1. Lube buffer spring with high temp wheel bearing grease
2. lube outside of BCG with same grease
3. just shoot more
4. polish inside of buffer tube
5. perhaps install a lighter buffer? I'd prefer a faster cycling action so does anyone have recommendation for a cheap one? I usually shoot 55grain wolf steel ammo but i dont have an adjustable gas block, will a light buffer destroy my rifle? What kind of buffer wieghts/spring would be in an m16a1? i liked the feel of that rifle.
6. Am I insane for considering putting some very fine lapping compound on the outside of the BCG and CH, working the action a hundred times or so, and then THOROUGHLY cleaning the rifle to remove all lapping compound? if i were to do this what grade lapping compound should I use? I know this is a thing with 1911s and AK rails, but since the AR doesnt really have conventional rails should i just put lapping compound on the bottom of the BCG where its already worn away?

What else can i do to make my rifles action smoother?

Today I shot 6 groups, 3 from the bench and 3 from the rest.

this is the first group from the bench and after shooting 60rds trying to figure out where it was hitting and adjusting the scope. the rifle was hot but not super hot.

Yep 100 yards. It hovers just under 1 MOA with factory Hornady, about 1.5 with the Wolf Gold / PPU 120 stuff, this particular handload is working out nicely though.

I'm very happy with all the Odin Works stuff i've purchased. Good quality, reasonable prices.

I have an 18inch 3-gun profile .223 that shoots sub MOA as well.
