I've been curious how to identify an Egyptian slant so I took some pics of my new ones next to two Russian slants

Granted, I'm only comparing the Egyptians to one other country's slants but that's all I have outside of a Chinese slant and Chinese slants are fairly easily identifiable themselves

Russians on the left, Egyptians on the right. From the top, the only real distinctly Egyptian thing about them is the thick gloopy crappy paint job. The one on the far right has some really thick runs on it, and that's something that I actually like because it just screams Egyptian

From the underside, the only distinctive difference is the straight groove running length wise. On the Russian slants it stops once it meets the groove going around the brake, while on the Egyptian slants it cuts back a little farther

Again, I'm only comparing these two but it's interesting to me because everywhere I asked and got an answer I was told should be an exact clone of a Russian slant and that isn't the case

It might be dumb but I find this kind of stuff interesting, especially considering I've wanted to know Egyptian slant specifics for a while now

The back cut is the only major difference besides the paint quality. I think there was one Eastern European country who went past the intersection on the wrench cuts, possibly Hungary, but I can't remember for sure.

Most people don't even know there's a wrench cut on the back of the slant brake, so getting incorrect info is pretty par for the course. CNC Warrior and Tapco slant brake clones are incorrect for this reason; I think only AK Builder makes theirs with the correct "T" cut to make it identical to the Russian slants.
