I've got a Fastfire 3 and I'm getting one of the Attero Arms rear sight mounts for it.

Can't decide if I want to put it on my Wasr or my M74. Both are wood stocked and I'm kind of a purist.

I'm leaning towards the wasr since the front sight is out of adjustment and it always shoots to the left. Broke two front sight tools trying to adjust it. M74 is dead on.

I want another 88 74 kit, I want an AK74M clone, I want a krink kit, I eventually want to start accumulating South African R4 parts for a build, and I really want to start collecting East German AK stuff. Those are what I want the most. Before I really get into East German stuff I at least want an AK74M clone but I can't get to that until I'm finished with my kit, and after my kit and an AK74M clone I'll have my two favorite Russian rifles and will be comfortable to start focusing on East German stuff more

No domestic. Centerfire had a sale of rusty/beat mags. I got over come with the urge to spend $$$.

Until the recent freeze with RU customs I got around 3,500 mags over the last year. Never more than 100ish at a time however.

You could just clean with acetone and perma blue it to make it black. It should blend in well and a whole bottle of perma blue is like $7

also. Strip everything off the gun before taking it to the shop. And maybe even ask before taking it in if they have a problem welding a small superficial crack in a non critical area on a gun.

Trying to decide between a SAM7-UF, SAM7R-61, or a SAM7SF-84. I love how underfolders look but I've heard sidefolders are way more comfortable. No I probably won't be dismounting from vehicles often but folders look so cool and are easy to store.

As far as the "best" cheap mags, it's whatever combloc surplus mags are the cheapest.

Aim still has Yugo's for $10, and painted Polish's for $11.
I'd steer away from those Poles, as the reports from people say the paint is too thick and needs to be worked for them to fit properly.

There's nothing illegal about putting together a parts kit, provided you don't build it into something that is illegal in its own right, like a machine gun.

By restricting it to the 50's it means you want an AK47 parts kit, because AKMs weren't built until 1960. That means it's going to be very expensive.

As I say this, you get what you pay for, a barebones AK in 7.62 that may or may not be comfortable to shoot. If you just want to put holes in things look no further. Better options exist but demand a higher amount of money, like Bulgarian Arsenals that have better fit and finish. I'd personally recommend nothing less than Bulgarian because they're in fact better than even Russian VEPR's, but to each their own.

Still, you're doing yourself a favor and not buying shit that will blow up in your face.

The gun was originally a shoddy homebuild I had done (screwed instead of riveted...I was an idiot). I realized later that my AKS deserved better and sent it to Two Rivers. They took it apart, rebuilt it on a new receiver, refinished all the metal, and scrubbed the Bulgy markings and replaced them with Soviet ones.

My last Saiga only needed the 3 barrel components pressed off and new, correct ones pressed on. It sat at Meridian Ordnance for 6 months before they got to it and then it took 2 weeks. For about 1.5 hours work I estimate. Maybe 2.
Fuck Meridian Ordnance. They will never get another penny from me and any time anybody asks about them I will try to convince them to go somewhere else.

All I'm doing is sanding with 0000 steel wool then soaking in mineral oil. Not even going to bother taking a pic of the bakes because the camera won't capture it clearly, but the cleaned and oiled ones are now a few shades lighter and much brighter than the untouched ones

Mineral oil is too heavy in my experience and will not absorb, so any benefit will be from the steel wool.

It just sits on the surface and when you wipe it off, it does just that, wipes off.
