i saw the screenshot, you dont have that much debt. if you found a job that paid even $5 more per hour and worked 70 hour weeks you would be debt free in less than a year. fudge those numbers either way you like for your comfort, more pay or less hours, but it would not take long to not be a loser anymore then you can be rid of your parents grasp forever.

you can do it. i habeeb

I took the rail off, but it back on.

I notice that when it is back on with the screws that hold it loose or *just* tightened, it requires a much smaller windage adjustment.. If I give them extra tightening to keep them on, it requires more windage.

>>33960548

I have the same rail. I'm missing one of the smaller hex screws because it came loose and I accidentally cross threaded it and turbo fucked it when I went to Loctite it.

Rail still holds fine with the 3 big ones and the one on the other side.

If it's crooked I would call PSA and ask for an exchange or return it. I wouldn't want to fuck with it out of the box like that.
>>
>>33960545

I mean if you turn it with the hex key until it first starts to feel solid, that's how tight I mean.

I don't know that I have a screwdriver that would fit these.

Now that I recall, i actually tightened these slightly before shooting as they seemed "loose" to me.

Probably the best option for a Californian desu. You only need to register the lower, what you do with it is up to you. You can keep it with a bullet button and have a regular mag release button on hand if shtf so you can just switch back. That or an AK with monsterman grips, with a regular grip on hand.

And

https://danieldefense.com/upper-receiver-groups/mid-length-urg/daniel-defense-v7-lw-upper-receiver-group.html

Then an enhanced sopmod stock or a Vltor emod

something to keep in mind, 308 ars arent as easy as their 5.56 counterparts. not much harder though, it just takes a little bit more research into receiver patterns (dpms vs armalite/ar10) and receiver height (dpms high/ dpms low/ dpms g2/ armalite (and i think rra does their own thing as well)).
basically, for 308 find a receiver set you want and go from there.

you might want to decide what kinda rifle you want.

pick a caliber, pretty much any you can think of between the ar10 and ar15.
cheap to buy ammo for are 223, 762, 9mm luger, 22LR.

pick a barrel length (and if you silence/short barrel: gas system length)

decide a target weight to shoot for (wish i had done this on my first build)

choose parts/optics/ammo based on your use case. e.g: long range / short range / hunting / bench shooting, whatever.

lots of customization available, you might as well take advantage of it.
>>

>>

Something to keep in mind with the KAC though, while it is probably the best out of the box gun around, if you need work done on it or to replace parts it's going to cost significantly more.

They use a special bolt which is ground breaking and awesome, but if something were to happen to it the replacement cost is like $300 instead of like $80

However it wouldn't stop me from buying one. Just thought you should know.

MK262(77gr OTM) is the gold standard for precision and defensive use. 55gr M193 or Wolf Gold is good for plinking, training, and stockpiling.
>>
>>33961881
for cheap plinking most shoot some M193. wolf gold is very popular. marketed as .223 remington but is 556 spec. for more expensive shooting there is mk262, PPu 75 gr match, TMK, SMK, all kinds of stuff in various different weights and suiting different budgets. what your individual rifle likes to shoot well is a factor too
>>
>>33961881
/arg/'s plinking/practice ammo of choice is Wolf gold, defensive/combat ammo is a bit more divisive
>>
>>33961893
Unless they post an abortion.
>>
>>33961881
first try a few different kinds of ammo to see what your gun shoots best with, then buy that ammo in bulk if you can.

reloading is time consuming with single stage but if you shoot more than a couple thousand rounds a year its probably worth it for cost savings., if you have the time/patience for it.

The next service rifle will be a 6.8SPC AR.

The reason is because it has phenomenal ballistics out of very short barrels. A 6.8SPC fired from an 8.5" barrel will deliver the same energy as a 5.56 fired from a 20" barrel.

Also the military won't have to buy all new rifles with different parts and shit. They can just convert their M4s.

I'm saying 6.5 is slightly better at long range but it doesn't really matter.

Also the new SPC II spec ammo blows Grendel out of the water.

SSA 85 grain TSX fired from an 8.5" barrel has a velocity of 2678FPS

https://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_121/581459_Chart_of_velocity_for_6_8__300_5_56_velocity_by_barrel_length__Anyone_have_one_that_includes_6_5_.html

6.5 is terrible with short barrels. 6.8 is not as good as 6.5 at long range out of a short barrel it is
>>
>>33962149
>chart deleted
Muzzle velocity is nice and all but retained energy is what matters. 6.5g is great because it just keeps going. 6.8 loses energy faster than 6.5 last I checked and the army isn't gonna build new rifles in a new caliber if it still goes subsonic between 5-600m

Get an angle grinder and a dremel. The only one stopping you is you. I turned an A2 FSB into a low profile gasblock and it works great.

Shit, that's looking like a nice spot.

If I get some hold unit time between schools I have found out that I can go shoot rifle for my rifle ribbon here.

It really helps when you're doing range work. Takes the guess work and pacing out of it.

What does Letsgo have? If you get it cheap enough and it goes out 500 yards I'd call it good enough. Make sure to get a lanyard for it, what can be either retracting or just a necklace style out of 550. I like both.

PRIORITIES
also a flashlight only requires a 45* mount while a peq means you need NVGs, a helmet to mount them, and a filter on your optics to fully take advantage of them
