The free floated barreled upper I just ordered from PSA, I think the rail is out of alignment to the upper.

It's hard to see with the eye (I assume would not visible in pictures) but it is enough to notice during the zeroing.

I had to adjust the rear sight (carry handle) 27 clicks to the right.

Later at home with a bore sight I confirmed this with a different pair of front and rear sights, to rule out anomalies in the sights themselves.

I tried one thing to see if I could improve it.

I slightly loosened the hex nuts that attach the free float tube to the upper, and placed the carry handle *across* the gap between them and tightened the lugs on the handle, hoping this would force things to line up.

After doing this a couple of times, it now only requires about 16 clicks right (from center of rear sight), with the bore sight. Has not been tested at the range.


I'm not really set up to work on uppers here.

Is this worth trying to fix more, or just live with it?

Any chance of PSA making it right?
