A place to share books, stories, and assorted writefaggotry.

All writing is welcome, even if it's only tangentially related to /k/.

Give thanks to Polybus a
nd Archivefag for keeping /wfg/ afloat.
It's been unscientifically proven that a lack of (you)s for writers can lead depression, alcoholism, story abandonment, and an hero.

But it's so easy to make a difference in a writer's life. Just one (you) a day can make the difference between a happy writer and a writer on permanent hiatus.

Please, post now. Help make a writer's day.

For some of the questions in the prior thread:

>>33906000

It's a strange-real WWI/Interwar visual novel. Think how Ace Combat does their settings but with real equipment; 1920-1930s timeframe. The novel itself will progress through the main character's point of view and will be kinetic (no choices) since it is my first VN. A really quick summary is that it's the main character's experiences in war and his adventures as he struggles to get back home. Mainly focused on perseverance and char development (hopefully). Will be a lot about his interactions with the people he meets in varying circumstances.

>>33906130

Story itself lasts around roughly a year - in terms of development timelines I'm looking to actually start the fundraising in June once my demo is complete. Originally I was going to have a pretty polished demo, but with the cost of resources driving things, I may shorten it to be half the prologue/min assets versus the full 25K word first part as planned. That should make the timelines go forward! Development can take anywhere from 4 to 12 months, depending on how much money I get/how willing my artists are willing to push my content.

As an idea for progress, here are some rough estimate percentages

Writing (95% - final editing)
Art Assets (10%, BGs/CGs,Sprites)
Music (20%)
Programming (25%)

I think the hippies back in the day actually had something worth fighting for; Vietnam was bullshit that cost a lot of American lives and only in an attempt to get South Vietnam to win so as to make them capitalist instead of Communist. Even if the US won, it would have been a waste of time, money, and lives. They didn't even win though; they lost.

The Marxist SJWs now though, they're not hippies. They're just degenerates who quite simply have no fucking clue how life works. They scream patriatchy when there is none. They scream sexism against women when there is misandry. They scream for equality when in fact it is the women who have more rights than men but they want more women's rights. They scream about a wage gap when it is a total non-issue created because of the decisions of women and women alone. They scream about white supremacy when racism is still heavily demonized by society. They scream about rape culture when being merely falsely accused, let alone convicted, can single-handedly ruin a man's life.

Yet what is there for over 90% of men who lose custody of their kids? Silence. What is there for alimony; a system made to protect 19th century women who did not live in a time when they could safely work and provide for themselves which has no place in this day and age? Silence. What is there for women who take children from their fathers yet still get child support even though THEY were the ones who filed for divorce because over 60% of divorces are done by women with no-fault divorce? Silence.

I have those fucking SJWs, BLM, and 3rd wave feminists...

It's not meant to be political commentary, just a friendly picture to accompany the message. Not that I disagree with you, however, this in not the place. Anyway, the message is simple. I have shit to do, an alcoholic family member I must lead to the light that ISN'T my muzzle flash, and video games to play and stuff to read and watch while I'm waiting for another family member to show up so I can tell them what's going on and get them to help me dictate to this other family member, because the situation is just getting fucking pathetic. In any case I'll repeat the message and leave hopefully a better and more related pic. If you're ever missing me, just call for me. I'll hear you.

>>33917332
Such a shame. I'm borderline alcoholic, in fact it's been 3 days so imma get drunk again tonight (I've cut down a lot). I feel very thankful that I'm normally a very cheerful, happy drunk. If I ever get upset, it's for a damn good reason, and things won't come to blows unless someone else makes the first swing. I'm also not a horny drunk, which is kind of a double-edged sword. I don't become a big horny perv, which is nice, but also if I get TOO drunk I have a hard time even getting hard, in fact sometimes it's downright impossible and I basically become impotent. Very strange, considering I'm still young, but oh well. Hey, I think imma use rupissed.com to track my drinks and see just HOW drunk I'll get tonight. I've had up to around .22-.23 BAC before.
>>
>>33918407
I've teetered on the brink of alcoholism a few times. Eventually I just switched to pot instead. Less hangovers and liver damage.
>>
>>33918694
I agree that pot is healthier, but it completely turns me into a recluse. With booze, I'm more social. It's also cheaper, since I do tend to become a big-time toker when I'm a stoner. What was it, an O every two weeks, so about two quarters a week? Well, it would seem that it's actualy more expensive for me to drink I guess, but I prefer it even though it's unhealthy. Pot could be legal in Canada come Canada Day next year so that's good, and I'll definitely pick up a pack of joints. I prefer to roll, but there's just something about buying a pack of pre-rolleds that rings 'freedom'.

Also, I barely ever have hang overs. Seriously, I have a process, and it's incredibly simple. Prepare: Drink some water and eat something not long before I start drinking. An ounce of prevention: have water on-hand for me to sip at when drinking alone, and also if I start to get the drunk munchies, get something to eat, preferably with bread in it because it's said that it helps soak up the booze. One more ounce: After I'm finished drinking, I try to stay up for a few hours. Firstly, so that I can enjoy the drunkenness. Secondly, so I can drink water like I'm taking a stroll through the Mojave fucking Desert. Thirdly, I'm probably up for another bite to eat or at least a snack by this point, so I can eat before bed.

With this method, I can pretty much count how many true hang-overs I've had on my two hands, yet I've been drunk likely over 1000 times since Spring 2013. DRUNK! Not buzzed. DRUNK! Also, I've been so hung-over that I nearly puked, but only once, and never actually puked from a hang-over. That was when I was still a teen I think, likely back in 2008-9. As for puking while drunk, maybe twice a year? Thrice a year at most?

I'm trying to think of how you'd make really stylistic gunfights without going all the way into retard territory.

I watched John Wick and John Woo's Hard Boiled recently and while I felt Wick was more accurate I preferred the style of Hard Boiled, where the jumping and diving felt more desperate, like the heroes actually knew they could be shot at any moment.

What I'm asking basically is how I would combine the too into something that looks realistic but also visually interesting.

We're actually creating some animations for a game. Not professionally, just as part of a class.

I'm actually just kind of jotting down ideas, but we assume our character should be kind of old, a bit run-down, and I still want to go ahead with the stylish action thing but I don't feel an older main-character should be moving around pulling of shit like Leon in the new RE animated film.

Fuck it, Fiftythree adventures, Ch. 2

>Sleep in the old shack was quiet, and between the warm cat girl and flannel blanket piled around you, quite warm. You slept heavily for a while, dreaming of bandits, adidas and Soviet Nuclear power plants. You ruled the land of Tulas and Izhmash with a well worn and rusted Chongqing...
>But in an instant, you're yanked from your sleep to a yipping and barking of dogs. This found was familiar, but never this close. The coyotes were again on the war path.
>You scramble for your shirt, pulling it on inside out. A stint as a volunteer fireman had left you with a habit of keeping your shoes in your pants legs, which you slip into when you notice it, and smell it.
>The can of sausages, left out, had stunk up the shack, and likely drifted outside. If the bait and corpses of their comrades weren't filling enough...
>You kneel and gently shake your rifle. She blinks awake with a start, and you press a finger to her lips. A wordless sniff and listen later, and she knows. Danger's close.

It all started when they invaded.

I was but a mere farmer, tending my fields when I saw them falling from the sky. After a month of fighting we sent our loved ones away to the east beyond the sea while we stayed and fought.

Now here I sit, my last battle fought, my defeat no less certain than the rising of the sun. I suppose it's not so bad. I have her to keep me company, though every night with her I contemplate strangling her in her sleep and taking up arms once again. Life just isn't the same since the PRC took over.

The situation changes on a near constant basis, Russia having taken protection of the refugees of this war as their own personal responsibility, sending them to secured settlements in the wilderness. I hope my wife and kid are still among them. More in the coming days.

I escaped, though I decided to repay her mercy, affections and forgiveness of my opposition to her with forthright honesty and brutality. The best forms of mercy in and of themselves.

I didn't leave Yui wondering where the man she had claimed as some perverse form of war trophy and husband had gone, nor any delusion that I hadn't forgiven her for shooting me in the side the first time we'd met. I was honestly thankful for her mercy, she didn't HAVE to disarm me while I was clawing at the chestrig of a corpse, if anything, it was a very deliberate and merciful act on her part, seeing as her Type 56 was much closer at hand than I was, or the pair of zipcuffs.

I woke her in the middle of the night. I didn't love her, Jessica would be my only wife, but I'll never forget the look of betrayal and the tears that streamed down her face when I shot her in the shoulder socket with her own makarov, telling her not to come after me, to hope we never crossed paths again, that I would not kill her as recompense for her mercy and that she was a fool to believe I had lost sight of who the two of us were just because she had. After that, I just walked away. Enemies can't be lovers, after all.

Right the most that I can ask for is some shills when the KS comes out. My goal is $4,000.00 - though with all the other animay tiddy VNs and stuff coming out, I doubt I'd even hit that.

In a perfect world, the KS would get funded to $10,000 USD, and I could vastly upgrade the amount of art I currently plan to have. With each sprite running around 120 USD a pop and CG 100 USD, I think I've spent roughly the equivalent of an AR-15 on my VN. All is good for a passion project I guess.

Can't tell if this is a grim crisis or a metaphor for the struggle of life.
>>
>>33921963
I dreamed again last night. I was with Jessica, with Kenny. For that brief moment I was finally happy again. Two months have passed.

Ten months in total since the invasion. Six that I had lived with Yui, a chinese commando who somehow, by some perverse regulation or procedure pulled me from the prison camp as a trophy. Two months since I made my escape.

I was once a farmer, I used to be someone's trophy, a literal catch. Now I'm just another fugitive with a scar where a family had been, and occasionally dreams of a family I haven't seen in far too long. I pray that they're still among the refugees in secure towns, and that those stories are true, rather than "official stories." Tomorrow I start to strike back.

A week has passed since I last wrote in this log. I saw him for the forth time in my dreams last night. He was always there when a crisis erupted. A man in a blue suit, he carried a dark brown briefcase and spoke to me. He said to me, speaking as though human speech was a new dicipline to him, "Wake up, Mister Ryan, wake up and see the fire." His appearances always seemed to foreshadow something in my life, he first spoke to me two days before the invasion, telling me that the wrong man in the right place could make all the difference in the world, then when I got captured he told me he had reciever "offers for your services." and told me he'd take the liberty of choosing for me in that rather precarious way of speaking he has. He was next in my dreams when he told me that my hour had... come again. I shot Yui two days later.
Time seems to just pass me by.

Two weeks later.
I saw him again, his gaunt face haunts my dreams. He told me that he must extract from me some payment for my family's survival. Telling me to kill a sentry on the edge of town.

Ten days later.
Well, it was a fairly simple task, and the result leaves me to believe the man's tasking is not coincidence. What did they do to me? Was it the chinese? Yui? Did she even exist?
>>
>>33927438
Goddammit, keks. I woke my wife up with my laughing.

No, it isn't literal with a crisis or a vehicle, and it might well be damn good metaphor in the sense you stated, but I'm referring to my story. Got any ideas?

The eternal workhorse, the M4 Sherman served once again when it needed to. And just like in all previous wars, more and less serious modifications depending on what was needed of them. From simple things like fixing up the interior, getting new seats in to engine and drive train changes and complete conversions. The most popular of these was modifying the turret to fit the ubiquitous M68 gun, since ammunition was plentiful. This usually resulted in a very cramped turret unless it too was enlarged, resulting in a rather lengthy progress.

Another somewhat popular alternative was turning into a casemate Tank destroyer, similar to what was popular in Germany and the soviet union. Getting rid of the turret and extending the hull upwards, leaving room enough for the M68, or sometimes even the 120mm M256 gun in the Abrams. Because there were a lot of destroyed Abrams tank around.

One of the more… simpler modifications done to these vehicles was to an M4 that took a very bad hit to the side of the turret, that completely mangled and damaged it beyond repair. So, everything above the turret drive was removed, leaving only the bottom few inches that still could rotate. On top of this a thin sheet metal “turret” was welded, and fitted with a 6 barrel, 20mm M61 cannon taken from a crashed F15

And as to no surprise to anyone who has been working with 20mm guns, gatling guns or tanks, people around you will notice of you fire it up at 6 AM in the morning. A short burst, maybe just a second, followed by to longer ones, about 3 seconds each. The incredible thing with the M61 was it had more than 700 rounds of 20mm downrange in that time.

You and Natalya few up from the bed startled by the sudden road from the gatling gun. You both flew up from the bed, you running for the AK, and Natalya for her clothes. She was not even half done with her shirt when the IS-3’s big diesel engine roared to life.

She certainly had control of the machine, but no where near what Lily could do. Natalya could play with lights, most of the electrical system and simpler engine control. It was more than most could, but still a far cry from Lily, who could control things like boost pressure, fuel mixture, very precise aiming of the main gun and even minute adjustments of radio frequency.

Soon her crew had rushed into place and were scrambling to get into the old tank. Sadly there wasn’t a seat in the IS-3 going spare, meaning you had to dash out in the snow with an AK. Or even better, the M240 in the car

And just a few seconds later, seeing a few hundred tons worth of steel dashing to the north of the little village, you decide that running around among these machines would be fatal rather quickly. Staying away from the stampede, and keeping along the houses not to get squashed.

Due to your scouting you had a fairly good idea of where the enemy would approach from, the north. It was wide, open ground, but more importantly, not soggy and soft. It turned out that even the legged sky creatures had issues when the ground got too soft, much like their tracked contemporaries. Ground pressure and all that.

Just as you had gotten into one of the northernmost houses, the gigantic T95 super heavy tank rolled past, spewing out black diesel smoke behind it, just behind it was a few of the heavy tanks, acting as shield for the squishier medium and light ones. In defense of the little town, the tanks fanned out, each heavy having a few lighter vehicles behind it for support. The more you saw how well organised this whole thing was, the more redundant you felt. Instead, you sat a couple of hundred feet behind with two 7.62 guns. A little like an armed fishing boat at the battle of Jutland.

But the 240 had a belt loaded with many, many tracers. And if nothing else, maybe they could attract some attention. They didn’t. Among all the at least 30 tank guns going live and all the machine guns, no one noticed the one guy sitting in a window, M240 or not. You could let the gun sing a few times. All in all, a full 100 round belt and two magazines from the AK in about 20 minutes. Another little while and about 2/3 of the tanks started moving away, checking other parts of the town. You hurried back to the HQ.

After a battle, an equally important job was making sure everything was dead. These creatures had a nasty habit of starting to move a few days after they have been shot at. Their bodies slowly recovering, brain being inactive. As soon as it had recovered enough it could start moving.

Standard operating procedure therefor said that a small explosive device was to be placed near or inside the mouth, and this task fell on those who didn’t do much in the battle itself. Normally it was people who took great pleasure in this who lobbed hand grenades at dead or dying creatures but the freezing cold meant that people returned to their houses and gathered around fires

Yo, JT sended me an Email, that the ISP is being a shit
>>
[let's see if my internet still is a nigger]

But you went to the DIY headquarters and received a large box of explosives. A few months ago this would be M67 hand grenades, but do to the tide of the war this was now empty cans that one contained food, now filled with explosives, and a little detonator on top. Very cheap, crude looking, but effective nevertheless.

Now, fortunately , you didn’t have to carry the 3 50lb boxes of grenades, instead that attached neatly to the side of motorcycles that made the job a whole lot easier. One of those large adventure bikes that went around the world on that late night TV shows. It was heavy, as adventure bikes usually are but it was powerful. Not that any sane person would drive a bike within two weeks of new year's eve

Over two hours it took on that bike in the depressingly cold weather and light snowfall for you to get all the cleaning up finished. Darkness fell and you still had to be outside listening to the sound of the boxer twin clattering endlessly. Finally done with everything, cold to the bone, soaking wet and generally pissed at everything you head back to the house. You freeze in the door frame, and immediately realize your mistake

Eight or so women, probably caretakers, including Natalya stood around a map on a table, and now all looking at you

“Sorry, wrong house”

You turn around in the door, and get almost to the lowest step on the little staircase before someone shouts from inside

‘Wait a minute!’

One is never, twice is one time too much. You pretend not to hear and keep walking towards the car. You get as far as the door handle when the voice shouts again

‘Stop it!’

This is the time and place to look as tired and confused as humanly possible

“What?”
‘Knew i recognized you, Anon. Where have you been for the last month?’

It was Helen, and she recognized you. No point in playing stupid anymore

“Oh. Hi there”
‘Good afternoon. Could you-
“Sorry for disturbing. Houses looks the same in the dark. I’ll be on my way”
‘No, come in. I insist’
“Isn’t there some girl thing going on there? I mean, i don’t wanna get-”
‘I believe we have things to discuss’

That last line was spoken with an incredibly cold tone. Not only that, but her hand was much closer to the holster of her pistol

“Let’s not use guns”
‘Then come in and speak’
“Augh… fine”

You followed Helen inside and where they all are. And the looks you are getting are concerning to say the last. You thought you would face some sort of appreciation, but what you are getting back is almost… Disdain? And these were people you had fought with. Specifically the so called heavy section of the group. They all have seen what you could achieve together with Lily and her heavy machine. You were someone they wanted to like, but…

‘Everyone, i’m sure you remember Anon, who commanded the Jagdtiger, correct?’

A low murmur broke out from the group. It felt more than trial than anything else

‘He if anyone can explain the disappearance of the machine. Can you not, Anon?’

There were two things you could do right now. The first was to explain what happened in detail to them. They would see Lily as a traitor and her her shot on sight. Because at the end of the day, many never really considered her an ally, but more like an enemy they had to work with. The chance that they would actually help you find her for an explanation was therefore rather poor. This would also probably make them trust you

Another choice was to protect the one who had stabbed you, lose trust from the heavy section, and not get any help at all getting to talk with Lily, and making an utter fool of yourself in the process

Easy choice.

Right?

“I think Lily is kinda pissed off with me actually”

This time the reaction was way different. Confusion.

“I got shitfaced, and started to fight this guy and i ended up in hospital after being stabbed. I was there for like two weeks and then sorta drifted along for a little while before i found that car and got back here. And she isn’t answering my calls”

‘Do you know if she is alive?’

That was Miranda. Your first thought was her trying to play along. But then again, you didn’t know if Lily was alive or not

“I got out of a damn war zone with a handgun and a Honda, i think she’s fine. Has she made any attempts to contact with any of you?”

‘No’

Helen responded coldly

‘Which means she is dead or have deserted. Not surprising’
“Not?”
‘Tssk. Read a book’

It was a little hard to tell if they were disappointed or something else as they left the house

“Uhm…”
¤ That is very impressive actually, i’ve never seen anyone lose that much respect as quickly as you just did. Not only that, if the bridge between you and her truly is burnt, your tanking career is as good as done
“Figured that”

You say that with an heavy exhalation, with a hand rubbing the back of your head

¤ You’re putting an awful lot of faith in someone who has-
“Yeah yeah, i know stabby stabby. But i’ve given it all some though. And give me a few more hours and i think i have an answer”

Natalya didn’t look very happy about that information. Nor sad or intrigued. She has a very light rosy tint on her cheeks and a slightly curled upper lip

She was ashamed of something

“Natalya… do you know something i don’t?”

Her faced returned to her normal, somewhat cold stare

¤ Probably. Why so?
“About Lily”

¤ Not more than you have told me, no
“And, one more thing. Helen told me to read a book, that mean anything in particular?”
¤ Yes
“Care to explain?”
¤ You deserve that much. Now, i don’t know how much Lily has told you. But there is quite a process before you are bound to a vehicle. Or well, it was supposed to be, wartime speed things up a little. Anyway, the requirements and the trials to get to care for Stalin's own tank was… tough. But it seems like the Wehrmacht took this to an entirely new level. I doubt she will tell you, but i guess she was drawn into training even before the war
“So that is 5 years, minimum”
¤ Probably, yes. And i wouldn’t guess this is easy going either. They didn’t even made a hundred of those, and they were the biggest and the baddest vehicles that took part in the whole war. So saying Lily is part of the elite wouldn’t take anything away from her
“Yeah, i had figured some of that out myself”
¤ You’re probably thinking about some ulterior move here, aren’t you?
“Have a guess”
¤ That’s really all i do. I listen, gather information and try draw conclusions. But as far as Lily goes… she is loyal, as strange as that may sound right now. I am almost positive the whole Elefant and Maus business is behind all this
“Yeah, sure but why didn’t she bring me along?”
¤ It is strange. You are a mechanic first and a tank commander second. And i can see them needing both for what is about to happen. I’m guessing-

Natalya took a deep breath

¤ I’m guessing that we have either overlooked something big, or Lily wasn’t involved in that decision
“Right. Well, gives me a little more to think about. Good night”

As you headed up to your bed Natalya remained in the kitchen and lit a cigarette. Natalya was very good with gathering information and would never do anything as crude or vulgar as guessing. Instead, she acquired all the information necessary to make a decision.

The fun began afterwards, when deciding what information to share

DID SOMEONE CALL ME? YOU ASKED FOR IT, NIGHT REICH INCOMING!
>>
I thought you always wanted to surf on a two gigaton thermonuclear weapon in orbit right next to a small star and guide that shit into a spaceship to see what happens."
>"Hmmm. Yeah. I did."
"Well, good, lolnuke. Call me when we land."
>Jack took Pitra by the arm and the two retired to do what the rest of the crew aboard the ship could only guess was "something" at most innocent and "Yeah, no. Those too degenerates are fucking like three balled cats" a mere few seconds later.

Four hours later.
>The ship came to a stop, having bottomed out its landing gear on the surface of Grohmler three, a planet named for the eccentric billionaire who led the project to Terraform the planet, making it, in a matter of two years, the first planet to be terraformed by the Kino organization in 2157.
>Jack had always thought of Hans Grohmler as being an eccentric man, and had in fact met the man when he was in his mid teenage years in Rhodesia. He was about forty eight at the time of their meeting, though one could assume that Grohmler had been no older than thirty, having apparently aged less under intensive fields of gravity or relativistic velocities than any human naturally would in such times, though he was a prominent name in the galaxy by that point, having turned almost all of humanity into rural farmers and mining magnates in a matter of a decade, seeing humanity colonizing thousands of systems by the year 2167, just two years after Jack had met him.
>Jack's train of thought about the expansion of humanity into families with extremely numerous children, often times numbering between twelve and thirty in the colonies, came to an abrupt halt with the realization that he had been on the surface for minutes now. He stood and walked to the exit ramp of the ship, bringing his banking card and thanking the powers that be for the raise and exceedingly low prices of recreational thermonuclear devices in the kino organization's space.
>>
>>33937551
>Jack stepped off the ship and into the environmentally uncontrolled surface of Grohmler three, feeling immediately that this was his kind of place. His skin wasn't the suit, and his eyes were not the visor, but they told him just as true, though with pleasant sensation instead of numbers, that the temperature on the surface was one hundred and seven degrees fahrenheit, the sun beating down, almost scathing in and of itself in the sensation it caused him.
>Jack felt for the first time since he'd left Rhodesia that he was home. He was in an arid environment with a high temperature, a scathing sun, he was shopping for a nuclear weapon that he and about twelve other... beings... would surf into the side of a rather large cruiser. What more could he want?
>Jack walked off the pad as the nano soldiers took up guard over the ship. Heading into the nearby town and entering queries into his digital implant, one of the more advanced perks that a man in a nanosuit gets in order to interact with the suit's muscles, both physical and mental.
"Eureka." Jack muttered to himself as the name "Adam's Atom Armory" came into his mind, instructions of getting to it and inquiries about inventory flashed in the back of his mind, eventually coming to the conclusion as though by some psychic divination that they had one such nuclear device of the type he desired in stock, and for only two thousand dollars, the traditional reserve currency of much of earth still even after two hundred years, and the traditional medium of exhange of the Kino organization and Terran Alliance, only dwarfed in value by the Swiss Prill, a currency that had only recently formed some forty years prior and saw standard use in the Alliance of Pret, a factional organization that made use of Grohmler's technological breakthroughs to essentially separate themselves from most of man kind... How very neutral of them.
>>
>>33937553
>Jack eventually found his way into the shop, having worked up a respectable sweat on a jog to the place.
>"Howdy." The shopkeeper said as Jack's eyes adjusted to the ambient light of the shop, several sphere and oblong shaped devices of all sizes on the show floor.
"Howdy. I need a recreational nuke." Jack said, judging himself for even the utterance of such an obvious statement. The shopkeeper, professional as one could be refrained from shooting back sarcasm, and went on.
>"What kind of device are you looking for, friend, any particular application?"
"Well, it's a bit of a space demolition, and what I need is about a two gigaton nuke, nothing too fancy mind you, it's actually advantageous to have a bigger bomb." Jack mused to the now thoughtful shopkeeper, considering the challenges of such a weapon, and if he was up to it.
>"So Two gigatons, bigger is better. How big are we talking?"
"well, big enough to be carried by about twelve nanosuits, so I suppose ten feet long, four feet wide and cylindrical would work."
>"I'm up to the challenge, I've got something that fits that in stock... How much are you looking to spend?"
"I've got a few thousand to spare."
>"Excellent. I happen to have something like you want, and can have it ready to go in about an hour. How would you like it transported to your ship?"
"Well, precisely what are we talking about?"
>"Old school thermonuclear weapon, two gigatons, about eight feet by two, though. Two thousand and it's yours."
"Sounds good, I can radio the ship and get the crew going. Though I don't think we have the equipment to truck it to the ship."
>"Not a problem. We offer shipping. Are you qualified to use these weapons?"
"I'm a nano soldier, by interstellar treaty, I'm to be considered qualified with everything. I'd fly the planet itself if I had the inclination." Jack said, just the slightest hint of sharpness cutting into his voice behind his smile.
>>
>>33937557
>The shopkeeper shrugged and nodded. "Then We'll gladly ship the device to your ship, there's just the matter of paying for the device and informing us of the location of your ship."
>Jack pulled out his wallet and from it, his banking card, happily paying the two thousand for the nuke, and advising the shopkeeper of the spaceport his ship was at, and to look for the ship with "...A bunch of blue and gray skinned alien voluntary slave laborers and the nanosuit wearing soldiers guarding them, can't miss it."
>The shopkeeper's face lost all expression as he watched Jack's face to assess how much of that remark was truth and how much was exaggeration.
>Jack stared him down while sending a datalink message to Moon Man, instructing him to relay the order for the acra aboard to be brought out to pose as hobbled slave laborers, before returning to the present conversation.
"Relax, I'm joking! Okay, I'm mostly not, they're just xenos. They signed the agreement, they're slaves until they learn English." Jack said, the shopkeeper reeling in relief as he realized he WASN'T talking to a confessed xenophile in a shop with recording devices pervading every nook and cranny.
>In a matter of minutes Jack arranged transport of the nuke to the space port and began to make his own way back, much more explicitly than before ordering over the link that the xenos be brought out to act like slaves unfamiliar with the human tongue of English, save for precious few words.

depends what the kind of catgirl is. i'll assume standard human+cat ears+ tail for example.
so you mix human traits with those of the catgirl. most likely the offspring would be missing hair/fur in locations according to human hair growth patterns. so it would have strange hairless deformed ears and tail. it wouldn't be a good thing. people born vestigial tails intact are all you need to see to know.

Mamono, much like asari scum, are genetic parasites which merely use you as an accessory to creating copies of themselves.
>>

>>33944433
Ok, fine.
Assuming biological compatibility, there wouldn't be a litter because the human birth cycle is what this is based on. There might be vestigial tails like >>33944724 indicates.

Some weirdness might begin to form if you father a girl, because calico cats are formed by mixing the X chromosome from both parents, and both chromosomes are linked to fur/hair traits, so you could conceivably have a kid with splotchy skin and hair.

so what you're telling me is that I'm not going to be able to stud an army of aryan cat men and cat women who will serve as an army to wipe out most of the globe a litter at a time without them turning into a bunch of freaks who will need to be kept concealed from the rest of my world spanning empire or be gassed.

Which in turn reminds me that I really need to write more of that harpy story
>>
>>33945006
so... since we've explored what kind of deformities they'd grow to be, what's the least abominable they could be? I mean, cat girls don't have hair in any place a human doesn't, save for on parts a human doesn't have... I'm thinking they might lose one of their cat traits and keep the other main one, or the cat traits might be unaffected depending on gene placement, maybe go one way or the other... what other cat traits do they retain besides the tail and ears? Occasional pairs of eyes in different colors?
>>
>>33944433
Well it really depends on what kind of catgirl. Are there catboys too? Are they all female like most monstergirls seem to be? In the latter case, I imagine the female babies would just be normal catgirls, whereas male babies either wouldn't be born, or would look mostly human with maybe a few subtle neko features like moe fangs or cat eyes.

Nigga, people are gonna NOTICE the boy with the fucking slit shaped pupils when they contract, and even then the more astute will notice that shit on eye contact when the dilated pupil is A) large as fuck and B) not round.

In any case I'd assume that, if they DID genetically engineer catgirls, they're have anticipated this, and worked on placing certain genes on the X chromosome to avoid abominable offspring, or made them either ubreedable or genetically incompatible with humans.

>Humans have heterochromia too
Yeah, but as I understand the issue, it's much more rare in humans, or at least in a noticeable way, that is. Isn't it? I mean, I'm not talking about the kind where you see it commonly when you KNOW what to look for and pay close attention, I'm talking full on green eye blue eye heterochromia.
>>
>>33945388
After some digging, human heterochromia has an incidence of 6/1000, though it is usually simple and largely unnoticed. Feline heterochromia is associated with a white gene (no, really, like the whole fucking cat is white) and is more commonly seen as a genetic defect. Kinda like inbreeding.

Pure white cats with heterochromia have a higher incidence of being deaf in one or both ears, due to the white gene causing degeneration of the cochlea, but even small amounts of other colored genes help counterbalance the degeneration. Note, I said it helps to counterbalance, not that it eradicates the issue. At best, heterochromatic cats still have a 30%-40% chance of being deaf, regardless of their whiteness.

Next up, let's deal with CAT AIDS and glow-in-the-dark catgirls

I had a dream about harpies once...

In the dream I was walking home from highschool, heavy backpack loaded with every single thing I could have kept in my locker because that's just how I did things. the sky had a thin blanket of clouds, it was about midday, probably getting close to 3:00 so the sun was still beating down through enough to make nice sharp dark shadows but not enough that you had to squint.

I got down to my road passing by all the nice half acre properties in the first neighborhood and then I looked up...

Up in the sky there were three little black spots circling way high above the next segment of houses out past the fields where I lived. I just kind of watched them as I walked. Taking a glimpse up at them every couple of minutes. About halfway down the neighborhood I figured they weren't going to do anything interesting so I stopped looking at them. Then as I got towards the end of the development that I checked back just because and noticed the spots were starting to get bigger, and I could kind of make out the shape of bodies and wings. They didn't quite look like regular birds and they bobbed up and down as their wings flapped. It also struck me that they weren't as precisely orbiting the other neighborhood as they were previously and of the three that I'd seen I only counted two, the third one drifted away out to the right over the field on the other side of the street, there being fields on both sides of the road out half a mile after the houses.

Satan is on board with the cat/human empire... Maybe all of you should get on board too, while you still have the chance. That's how much... Actually, now I wonder if we could get this worked to give them natural, built in image intensification, like night vision, but even better than Gen 3. But truthfully, I don't think it would suck that much, seeing as it only happens under black light (not too common in nature, huh.) and they don't have a baseline to compare it to. To them it would just be how it's always been. But if they glowed ALL THE TIME however, I still think it wouldn't be that bad, since they CAN still see in daylight, which is much brighter than darkness. It's not like when we suddenly get flashed when our pupils are dilated since the presence of the glow is always there.

Quick question for any Anons out there who know history, and can tell me if this is a viable alternate history story.

Essentially, I'm trying to write an alternative history where FDR managed to seize control of the Judicial branch by adding 7 new Judges to supreme court and successfully repealed the second amendment, which led to a civil war in the US. From there, 3 major factions rise up, with the federal government maintaining control in the East coast, the Rebels who obey the constitution in the central US, and another faction of Rebels in the West coast that are led by Communists.

Is this a viable alternate history, or is it too unlikely to happen?

Well... Ekatarina's already a VSS, so that would be a new subject unto itself if I decided that Michael got her pregnant. Then again, Emily is an FAL and Anon is a human, so that's ALSO an issue, since I did a one of Anon and Emily where they were in their home life raising a daughter in 2027 or so. Is the little girl someone's future raifu? Is Anon going to walk his daughter down the aisle to some dude who later on finds out she's an FN FNC? Shit, man! Let's keep opening cans of worms and see what happens.
>>
>>33946519
I'd say that's very, very unlikely to happen. For one, the Supreme Court can't repeal Constitutional Amendments. They could rule that 2A doesn't confer an individual right, but that would be even less likely to trigger a civil war. And as much as we'd like to think otherwise, repealing the 2A wouldn't be enough to start a civil war. Furthermore, even if it were, it's extremely unlikely that FDR would do something that politically risky when the nation was just coming out of the depression and WWII was on the horizon. Guns were pretty low on FDR's priority list at the time, he was more interested in expanding the federal government's power over the states and getting the US into WWII. It certainly wouldn't happen during the Depression, when people could barely afford to eat, let alone fight a civil war.

Also Communists have never had enough actual power to influence the government until recently, and that's Neo-Marxism, not pure Communism. Commies in the US are not like Commies in Europe. They've always been a very small number of upper-middle class white people who daydream about a Communist utopia and occasionally assault conservatives in public, but don't really get anything done.
>>
>>33946567
*cont

What would perhaps be more likely to happen (although still unlikely) is a civil war over whether the US should get involved in WWII. Opinion was actually quite divided on that prior to the war. A lot of people remembered how pointless WWI was and didn't think Americans should have to die for Englishmen and Yuropoors. Whereas FDR and the globalists of the day wanted America to be more involved in international affairs.

Wew. Now that I'm calmed down, I'll continue:

And that third one is the one that got my attention the most. I stopped and watched it because I thought I could see it coming closer. It was. Almost immediately after I'd past the city limit marker it flew directly overhead maybe 25 feet off the ground and then swooped down and tryed to carry me away by my bag. By thrashing around and spinning against it's claws I was able to wrench myself free. A fucking harpy, man.

They were the kind that had both arms and wings separately. They had faces like martial eagles with raptor teeth, human bodies covered in feathers, and feet like a regular eagle. They flew vertically with their legs tucked up and arms kind of to the back. They weren't too bright though because despite being a good foot taller than me, they wouldn't land and try to fight on the ground.

After battling it for a while I decided the measure is just to cover as much ground as possible. Every other couple of times it would land a hit on me I was getting knocked down and I was starting to get cut up from the thing trying to nab me with it's ugly tootsies, a second one had taken interest and had started to lay into me too. Having to fight against two of them got exhausting pretty quick and still had so far to go to get to the safety of home. I dumped the bag in the grass and bolted down the road sure enough right as the third one decided it wanted to be part of it. One of them made a pretty bad gash in my back, I could feel the shirt getting sticky presumeably with blood.

Then I woke up. Too often that I get to have fun dreams like this and then never get a satisfying finish.

true... Then again, maybe it's a matter of a mix between the two... think how many new designs we could come up with if this happened! Michael and Ekatarina, an FAL R1 and a VSS have a baby... it's an integrally suppressed battle rifle with the operating system of a VSS (striker fired rotary bolt) and the light weight rifle and full caliber of the FAL... The possibilities are... well. I don't know what to say.

Thanks for the feedback. In my alternate history, the idea was that Congress was changed, not FDR. In history, the heavily conservative Congress fought FDR every step of the way. His fireside chats essentially forced their hand on a few things, but they overall did a good job of limiting his power. In my story, I wanted Congress to become a bunch of yes men to FDR, which would lead to him becoming bolder.

Even though he was limited in power, he enacted the 1st gun control with the national firearms act, tried to overthrow the Judicial branch, interned US citizens thinking they would conspire against him, broke a tradition of presidents only running 2 terms in their lifetime, and had an amendment to repeal a past amendment (I agree with this action because fuck prohibition, but it wouldn't be hard for him to use this as precedents for other amendments).

After reading your response, I've decided to go back to the drawing board on the story.

I think that's reasonable, why would I bother getting into a relationship with someone to try and gain her affections and all that comes with them if she's just giving it out on the street corner? Then again, live in the far left state of California, get pushed far right. In my opinion, pic related is about as skimpy as women's clothing should be before it turns into degeneracy with a strong tendency toward all the nasty shit I see around here with the piercings out the ass, ass hanging out, tattoos, etc, etc, etc.

I don't mind jeans, shorts and tank tops, the problem is, and I fucking watched it happen from the age of thirteen, this comes next. About half of this is before the facial piercings, there was a time when the most skimpy thing you'd see was the shorts... that time was gone the better part of a decade ago. And what's worse is people will try to pressure you if you don't get all this retarded shit done! They're almost to the point of attacking people of not having an obscene amount of piercings.

There are SOME redeeming factors to California.

Notably:
Livestock
Fisheries
Major port of trade

Unfortunately, damn near everything wrong with it is almost inseparable from western society and media. It's because they're so insulated in the high tower created by their empire of modern movies, music, and other media, that the rest of the western world essentially demands, and it is self-sustaining.

So yes. Nuke it. Send it all to hell. Cutting out the cancer with nuclear fire will cause only some collateral damage.
>>
>>33956061
Well guess what. We live in a free country. That means people have the right to do whatever they want with their own property, which includes their body, regardless of your personal opinion on it. If you hate freedom like the muzzies you should probably find a new board. /k/ and authoritarianism are oil and water.
>>
>>33956122
>california is a pile of trash and you're only a littlw wrong
This is correct, and the problem with most /pol/acks. They see a legitimate problem caused by lefitst extremism, and rather than grasping that the problem is the extremism, assume that far right extremism will fix the problem. In reality they're two sides of the same coin, although I will conceed that leftists usually end up with a bigger bodycount.

But this is getting very off topic .
>>
>>33956166
just because you have the freedom to do it, does not mean I have to like it. You can do meth, in fact, that's a fair bit of the economy in my specific spot of the state. Doesn't mean your teeth won't fall out. Truth be told, I just want them to be as miserable for the next twentyone years as I've been for the LAST twenty one years.

>"P-please s-send federal money Donald."
>>33956178
I mean, you're close, and right, this is getting off topic. It's not the issue of extremism that really does it. it's the issue of the one party state. Can you tell me how many votes have been given to a republican since 1984 in california? If you guessed "none" you're correct. Truth be told, we could use extremism on both sides here for a beneficial end, the problem is, the left are so deeply entrenched in power that they can't by any means be dislodged. They've imported enough migrants who depend on them for welfare to out vote native residents, they've had a super majority for years, they pass anything they want, there's no power they don't have. I'd be glad to let them have the place and move elsewhere, but I've seen in the last few years how they'll follow you away to wherever you go seeking to root out and ruin any place you have, you simply can't have a "stay over there and I'll stay over here." policy with them, they'll insist they have a right to your state too, your property, your money, even your children. If all those who put up what little resistance they face left to texas, it'd make no difference because they'd just come to texas in numbers and overrun that too. The pendulum doesn't swing here. THAT is the issue.

That is a very unhealthy outlook to have. Trust me, it doesn't end well.

You're correct that the Democrats have fucked California. Well, more accurately the upper middle class urban dwellers have fucked California, and the Democrat party just happened to latch onto that demographic. But the alternative that you represent is just as unjust and bad. Extremism is never a good thing. And being reactionary past the point of rationality just makes things worse. Look no farther than the birth of the Soviet Union. The Tsar was bad, but the reactionaries were much, much worse.

That's an orwell reference? didn't realize it. But, yeah. If the extremism went back and forth, it would still go to a beneficial end, as they couldn't REALLY push anything through unless it was useful. Not bans on plastic bags, not encouragement of body modifications in schools, not the teachings of far left ideology as fact in the school classroom. If they couldn't prove it had a purpose other than to disenfranchise the other side of the aisle, it wouldn't go through. Problem is... that isn't the case, and a system which relies on a balance that will only be corrected by a revolution once that balance has been upset is not going to work, ever. Not in the long term anyway. They say we've got four boxes to defend our freedom, the ballot box, jury box, soapbox and cartridge box. Well, the soapbox does jack shit when that balance is gone. The jury box? The ninth circuit is packed with activist judges. All of whom are on the same page, feeding from the same trough. The ballot box? The amnesty of '86 (Thanks Reagan) ensured there's enough mexicans recieving welfare to permanently oust native and right leaning voters from any policy decision in the state. And what about the cartridge box? After all this, a regular guy's firearm is supposed to be the last defense against tyrrany! Oh, WAIT A MINUTE! What's the saying? When you're angry grab a rifle and run onto your lawn, if you are the only one, it isn't time YET? Well it seems to me that it's never a time that isn't "too soon" if it isn't too late!

Tell you what, I'll settle for all they enjoy being illegal and attempting to spread these policies anywhere they go in the world, rather than having any of them that has publicly wished harm upon the children of conservative or right leaning parents literally eat their own children. I think that's about as fair a compromise as I'm going to manage, because the hegellion dialect is a myth, and the middle option between what is "completely" giving them what they want and telling them to go fuck themselves is literally just giving them what they want piecemeal, rather than their extreme, which is giving them what they want wholesale.
