I'm thinking of getting one. The law makes it convenient to have one and use it on a shooting range.
Just as a first firearm so I can get some practice with a rifle.
I do plan on suplementing it with a handgun of some sort.
I think that's an ok plan.

Burger reminder that only in the US and Fingolia you can own guns excluding the shitskins. 22LR is popular among countries who people can't own a real gun.

22LR is pretty popular anywhere you can get firearms. The prices have went down for ammo ( finally ). You can SOMETIMES find it at your local big box retailer, but its very readily available at your LGS or outfitter. ( same thing happened with 9mm, 556 and 7.62 too around the same time.. Thanks Obama. )

22lr should be your main home defense in a SHTF/bosnian war scenario. It's lightweight and the most affordable so you can pepper people who don't belong in your neighborhood --- defend your neighbors homes with it and not worry about running out of ammo. The reason you want to defend your neighbors is if the rebels or some gang takes over your neighbors homes, it will be easier for them to take yours if they come at your home from all four sides. You'll at least want to defend your two neighbors on the sides if even you don't like them (just make sure they pay for it in trade deals).

Save your shotgun, ar and 9mm for direct conflicts where they target you.

Not since the last panic during obama presidency. Our local shops overstocked on .22 so bad they still cut deals with people trying to buy in bulk. I bought 20,000 rounds of cci minimag for 2 cents a round from the owner of one store last year because they needed the space.

While that is a good deal, isn't .22LR not a waterproofed round? Many of those rounds will become duds before you can use them all, unless you plan to flip them.
