My dad gifted me my PSA upper. Its a carbine length gas system and its nitrite coated with a heavier profiled barrel. Its a standard 1:7 twist if thats relevant. I want to know if theres any way that the barrel that is on my upper was a PSA barrel that was outsourced to FN or not. Is there any way I can tell? How do I learn how to shoot better? I feel like I'm horribly innacurate, even after I finished calibrating everything. I was shooting from the bench with a bipod, and it still looks awful. My shoulder is sore bc I think I must've been holding it wrong, is there a proper way to sit with the rifle so it doesn't hurt to shoot?

also random question, people always ask if I have an ar10 even tho I have a 15, and I think it might be because I have a bipod and a scope on it. Is it really that uncommon for an ar15? I have pretty shitty vision, like for reading my prescription is already stronger than the lowest setting of my scope (3x-12x scope, 4.75+ reading strength) so I figure a scope is the best bet

I would swap out the brake if I was you. Its hard to explain why it isn't asthetic to me, I guess it looks too smooth, too much like a hunting rifle barrel. Cali doesnt restrict brakes on your rifle to my knowledge. There are so many options for brakes out there. An A2 birdcage is only 8 bucks or so

I got my Lucid HD7 for $90. I think they retail for $300 or something new. It works fine. It's clear, it holds its zero great, and it does its job as a red dot.

For your realistic range shooting etc, a grand on an optic might not make sense. But if your daily work routine involves engaging an enemy in combat, it's a solid investment.
