Nobody said a gun has to be practical to be worth buying.

That said I still don't think there's enough special about the RD guns to make 'em worth what Fuller asks. You can make similar mods in your garage; churning out an XM8 or G36C from an SL8 conversion is another matter entirely.

I just got my guns license (europoor) and wanted to drop some money on an AK as my first rifle. Now, since I'm a faglord I was looking into the AK-100 series, more specifically the AK-103. Let's say that I found a Izhmash Saiga MK-103 for ~800 euros (MSRP was just over 1k iirc): is it worth it? Is it too much? Should I just get a cheaper one and buy some synthetic furniture later?

It's not THAT much of a collection, I've only got five 74 brakes plus one from Chimps and the two Russian slants. I'm sure there are others out there with much much more than I have and with more variety

I just like 74 brakes. Even as a kid playing video games and airsoft and just liking gun stuff I really liked AK74s and the brakes were the most iconic part of the rifle for me. The slants I only bought because I wanted one for my Maadi and they were cheap

It's kind of the same reason why I buy true blacks, I just like them

It's holding up well, I've only put probably 1000 rounds or so through it since I got it though. It came with a blue grip on it but it never shows up well enough in most pics to be really noticeable (in sunlight it shows well though). The Obzor is great, a year later and it still grows on me more and more every time I shoot with it. It's the only Slav optic I've ever had but one day I'd love a Kashtan

I've had that rifle for about three years now, it's a factory triangle folder and I put plum furniture and a Bulgarian zigzag on it right away. I put a faceted brake on it a little more than a year ago. I only went to all black with a long collar and smooth top cover about half a year ago. I feel like I'm one of the few who started with triangle and went to poly while everyone else started with poly and went to triangle

I put a surplus Bulgarian FCG in it a few months back, and the sling is a 1988 dated Russian sling that I put on it around when I first put on the short collar

Anyone know anything about pulling a 4.5mm rear trunnion to install a 5.5mm? Any reason it couldn't be done?
