I posted an ad on CGN about trading my VTR, got this email
>Hi. I have a VZ58 in near mint condition. It is non-restricted, 223 with skeletonized thumbhole stock, has receiver mounted scope rail and a very nice aftermarket muzzle brake plus a second magazine and the original strap, oil bottle, etc. The muzzle brake is the only thing tat shows any signs of use.
Sounds interesting but he's got no trader rating and like 5 posts.

Is he local?
>>33652606
No, he's a newfie. Creeping his handful of posts he seems like a regular guy, no alarm bells are going off.
Have any of the gun orgs commented on the new bill the LPC has tabled yet?
>>33654236
I haven't seen much official comment just yet, but here's the text of the bill as it stands:

My big worry about it is that it's basically just a big blank space with "we'll add regulations later" tacked on. Those regulations could make for at the very least added cost.

The kind of person who posts anywhere other than ee is the type of person to avoid. Let's be honest with ourselves here.

just want to point out that .223 versions of VZ58 had a batch in the past that were bad (gas port drilled improperly too big, so they beat themselves to shit, crack bolt carriers etc.)
Shouldn't be super paranoid, but it would be good to ask what year make the rifle is and lurk CGN for that thread about the defective batch, make sure it's at least few years after.
Wouldn't want fellow Anon to get someone else's lemon
btw, having no experience with EE, how common is for people to pawn off defective shit like lemon Norinco or other stuff and what is the general way of dealing with it
>primary reason I never got into EE is the fear of buying some bullshit and then dealing with it, because of not wanting to be the cunt that passes it on to the next unsuspecting person
Anyone go to the Calgary gun show? Pic related

Nyet.
$ or no deal
Been out of the loop for awhile, what's the current standing on AR magazines?
.50 beo magazines are prohibited from what I understand. Has the ruling changed on LAR pistol mags?
>>33658091
LARs are fine for now. As for Beo mags, that's still up in the air.
Looking to buy either a mauser or svt, what are your guys opinions? I prefer manual action firearms but the high cost of 8mm is kinda throwing me off
>>33658590
You could look into israeli mausers. They're rare but usually sell for 500-600
>>33658590
Had an svt, I'd get the mauser, especially if you plan to shoot it
>>33658590
I like SVTs more than pretty much all my bolt actions so I bought five.
Adjust gas setting, tighten gas cylinder, and never have any trouble.

It's a tuff call between my No4 or k98 as my favourite milsurp.

Alright guys thanks for the info, Lever arms in Vancouver has both so I think I will go in and look at their k98's and if they have any good quality ones I will probably pick it up.
I'm trying to get my friend to buy an svt40 so that I will have the best of both.
Any hood sources of surp/cheap 8mm?

The surplus has pretty much dried up until someone brings more in country. I found one shop who had a partial crate of Romanian left and I bought them out.

Man, I really wish I had the patience to read through all that.
