He says lightly used and it looks that way. He cut the front sling point off because of some hand guard he used to have, but I don't give a shit about that. Also has holes drilled in the back for a sling plate but I'll probably throw a brace in it which will cover those anyway.

Probably best to have a barrel blank turned down because of the short gas system. Need to have a custom FSGB made or have one modified (of he factory one looks special just for he AK9)

I'm of the assumption that the AK9 uses a gas port closer to the chamber like the earlier 9x39 AKs have (don't think the Russians would half ass it and drill a huge gas port)

I've never seen an AK9 without the handguards so idk if it's true.

I'm going to grab one of Atlantic's WASRs for my first foray into the AK world. I know when and more importantly when to buy my AR mags for the best price, but I have no idea where to go to get 7.62 mags for the best price. Slick guns seems to be shit lately and I hardly ever see anything AK mag wise besides magpul shit on there anyway. Looking at it now, I'm sure it could be done with a Saiga .223 as a base, a .300 barrel blank, a krink gas tube and a heavily modified fs/gb (not sure if krink or 100 series would be better off).

It'd take a hell of a builder, especially since that lower hand guard looks like it's permanently attached somehow, as was stated in the last thread.

It's not really a question of how or if it's possible, so much as how much and who could build it.

With how far it needs to be stripped down to get it to .300 blk there's really no reason to just start from a blank receiver, depending how autistic you want to go. RSB will need to be modded to shit, modded up gas tube, figuring out the fitting of the lhg retainer, etc. plus it would allow you to build it as a pistol so you can install a 5.5mm sidefolder trunnion and a pistol tube with a KAK brace till stamp clears. There's faux PBS-1s floating around too that you could use as a placeholder till you buy a wolverine or stamp the faux one and install baffles when it clears

Installed a Vector quadrail on my Saiga M3 and got instant regrets.
>had to cut off the lower handguard retaining plate/sling loop
>had to cut off the upper handguard forward collar plate (the thing on gastube you know)
>had to reshape the upper handguard rear plate in order to have new handguards fit in properly

The outcome was kinda good, but my inner fudd was screaming in agony while i dremel'd the slingloop away. I can always buy a new gastube with all the shit for like 25€, but a new lower handguard plate/slingloop would require a gunsmith

anon considering a 20'' vepr in .308 here.

anyone here with one ever chronograph their averages with different ammos?

asking since im thinking about putting the PA 5x prism optic on it to utilize the BDC. though it requires a certian FPS from certain ammo per the manual.

Wasr is a great option, I'm not a fan of the yugos. I had a Pap 92 and a N Pap underfolder, ended up selling both. The Pap 92 construction was so bad it could not be zero'd at 25 yards EVEN after sending it back to century. The underfolder showed signs of soft receiver so i ditched it as well.
