got to signal landing of rescue helio today using nothing but memory of signal that my mom taught me when I was like 13 or so.

from what i get from him and researching on it before deciding to go with acog.

It's great for quick shooting but for many the reticle is too thick and obscure too much. I like the exterior but PA have better reticle being ACSS better for making actual shots beyond 100yds with winds. then even better vortex but fucking base isnt acog style and cant mount it on carry handle.

if you got flat top vortex is really better choice then PA then Burris solely based on reticle.

I really wished burris didnt dropped the ball on the reticle.

burris also made now a rare 1x version with superior reticle but you would need a magnifier and leave it on all the time and by then you got too long of setup and it defeat the purpose of prismatic optic.

Are there any advantages/disadvantages of a shorter suppressor? I wanted to get the Ase Ultra one, and they have one very short (CQBS-BL) and one longer (CQB-BL) version, price difference is about $30 ish. But their site says they have the same sound reduction, and basically everything is the same.

Sure PA might seem too busy but it's clear and superior for actual longer range usage burris is too busy and compacted in to basically tiny blotch of a dot and many more tiny botch of dots inside the dot. the dots is way too big and obscure too much of the target the thickass donut doesnt help.

hey /arg/. Just got my barrel in from Ballistic Advantage. It's supposed to come with a pinned gas block. There's a loose pin in the package(pic related) and i'm not sure what it's for. BA barrels come with the gas block set in place and DRILLED for a pin but no pin installed yet in case you need to remove the gas block from the barrel for some reason. You have to install that pin. It goes in the bottom hole, the top hole is for a smaller pin that holds the gas tube in place.

take a look at actually good reticle that trijicon offers. if you actually specifically like and want muh quick cqc aiming, get silly horseshoe that trijicon offers and is superior to burris ar332 bolb of a reticle.

you wouldnt be able to get as tight grouping at all range as you would be able to get with trijicon acog chevron or crosshair.

I can't tell if I'm just being fickle or if I'm experiencing a paradigm shift within, but I'm starting to tire of these "do everything" monstrosities most ARs' have become... take my rifle, for example. Its plenty reliable and accurate and though it weighs 10 lbs unloaded it balances and carries fine for me on long hikes and such. I just can't help but feel though that it strays so far from what the AR was supposed to do, and I keep just wanting to ditch all my AR stuff and just make an XM177E2 clone, toss a compact ACOG on the carry handle and call it a day... wat do?

No it isn't too small to be useful. If I'm shooting further than 300 I turn it to the lower red or green setting instead of the standard black.

I've got the 3x so can't really comment on the 5x, maybe an aimpoint with a flip magnificator?

It does have a focus adjuster for clarity as well. If you have it at the proper eye relief the reticle seems to be about the size of those erasers you place over the end of a pencil. I don't really have a way to measure it.

Pencil barrels aren't new. The original m16 had one, the SCAR L and H have them. They work fine even for combat. Only 2nd Tier operators like Marsoc need socom barrels for their Block IIs because they're too fucking stupid to know when their barrels are getting too hot. Even mk18s and CQBRs have the cut down skinny barrels underneath handguards. The a2 profile does nothing for heat anyway. A tapered shaped Hanson or Faxon barrel is best of both worlds.

I don't really notice the weight anymore. I wasn't able to get the fastfire when I picked up mine and never really followed through with trying to get it. If your set on a variable man do what you want for your set up, it's one of those "buy once cry once" things. If you do get it and end up not liking it resale it online somewhere.
