What's the best 4.2in barrel revolver?

Why are 1911's so expensive? I just want to LARP as a WW2 soldier.

Are ATTs still a thing? I know you don't need them for going to the range but what if the bolis phones and says they have your gun that was stolen? I was told I could get it mailed to my local detachment and after I get an ATT I could take it home from them.
