I'd say go for more magnification with an 18" barrel. Once you do you're probably looking at a 34mm tube, which is where Bobro mounts start to get heavy. Depending on budget anything from 1-6 or 1-8 would be perfect IMO

I only noticed it after shooting 4 mags pretty quickly. The rail panels do a decent job but I'd probably switch to Noveske NSR rail panels or a VFG to get my hand further from the handguard if I was shooting a lot suppressed

Yeah, I had a viper PST 1-4 for awhile and I really liked it, only thing i didnt was that certain lighting conditions seemed to cause glare. I just feel that it makes sense to match the price point of the optic to the rifle and his rifle appears to have some nice components.

I'd do a 1-6 if you only want one optic and aren't bench shooting or going for a dedicated SPR setup. 1-8 is doable but it's gonna be roughly 25oz. It's not QD but a lightweight 34mm mount would be your best bet.

That's where I'm unsure. The eyebox on the 3-9 is supposed to be pretty good, and it's light. An ACOG is 4x and I shoot ok up close with it, even without BAC, but I do really like the 1x on my current scope

Comes down to what you want to do with the rifle. If it's simple target shooting then go for a 3-9. If you're hunting animals like boar, where you may very well need 1x, or doing courses like 3-gun and training classes, then do a 1-X. You could always get an RMR for the ACOG too
