I have a GR1, and yeah, it's kinda low profile cause it's not really military and even the little bit that is a lot of people don't care about. I have a 11.5" upper and that'll fit snug in there with the lower and a SADF chest rig. Any more barrel and you'll have problems, though. You've only got about 18" to play with so that kinda limits your options as to what you can carry.

Cut some more bamboo and one more babby pine tree today. now there's line of sight to large backstop about 55 yds or so (this is wild guess havent pace measured it yet) and this is for standing. if i crouch or go prone the pile of cut bamboo block the line of sight. though of me building a shoulder high raised platform to lay on a and shoot at backstop to get around moving all of those downed bamboo plus having better angle of impact at the backstop.

If ffl didnt transfer it as rifle then you can build it as pistol then document it and back up the document on multiple sources including cloud, email, and computer storage.

if it was built first as pistol it can be converted into rifle and back but not if it was built as rifle first.

myself I am not big fan of ar15 pistol only retro variant and they would be sbr not pistol with gross "not a stock stock"

but you best build it as pistol first, just in case you end up wanting it to be a pistol even after making it into a rifle after making it into a pistol for legal reason and keeping the option open.

I'd honestly get a decent set of irons and enjoy it until you can put a little more in the optic. The new gen 2 vortex viper 1-6x is a pretty excellent option at $700. If you can live with less magnification you can find 2nd hand triji accupowers for near $500, accupoints for $600-$700.

Along the same lines. This is my first AR but not my first gun. Over protective and worrisome mother objected but I am 24 and it isn't her choice. Now I've expanded past just a handgun to a mossberg and now AR. Mother and sister are hyper liberals and are calling every other day to make sure I did not commit a mass shooting.

Should I just take them shooting a few times to dissolve this illusion of danger surrounding this particular platform? UBR is now installed to the 308AR. Now looking into a new spring and possibly a new buffer. As of right now I'm between a Sprinco Red, Tubb SR-25. . . . Or suggestions. I'd like one that I don't have to replace often that'll be smooth and a bit lighter (if possible) than the standard spring.

have you found source of scraping? you need to pop upper open and plug the ass of bcg with your fat finger and pull and push the bcg in and out of upper is the scraping similar? try pushing tail of carrier down and cycle it as if off axis force from ch would tilt carrier a bit and scraping might come up now.

no scraping? then its out of spec buffer tube or/and buffer. you should add grease or thick oil like 10w-40 in buffer tube and if that doesnt smooth thing out replace the tube or/and buffer. machining of L.W.S. buffer tube is rough but your might just be too rough.

or its fucking hammer scraping against underside of carrier.

or upper is poorly machined.

there should be bit of difficult initial pull as bolt unlock this is unavoidable save for it going away after high round count.

this is not hard look at everything closely play doctor moving from parts to next logically.

Yeah, I swapped out the buffer tube, so it's out of the picture now, but I didn't consider the BCG being mis-aligned.

Just fucked with it. CH feels insane levels of gritty (I've already greased it before doing this), and the BCG moves less than my ar15s. pushing on the spring it feels. . . . wrong. I'm not real sure how to describe it. I don't see or feel anything wrong with it, it just doesn't feel like other 308 springs i've played with.
