Why Max Bernier?

Policy highlights:
Lower all income tax, scrap capital gains tax, CRTC, federal carbon tax.
Eliminate all corporate welfare, nationalize airports and Canada Post.
Reduce immigration, end relation with UN for refugee selection.
Double the length of firearms licenses from 5 to 10 years.
Reclassify firearms: Non-restricted = any semi-auto with overall length >26".
Reclassify firearms through law in Parliament instead of the RCMP or cabinet.
Repeal magazine size restrictions.

Lets say that in the next two years suppressors become legal in canada

>inb4 it ain't happening mate

how many of you would start getting suppressors for your firearms? how many of you would turn your firearms into suppressor ready firearms?

If so, how many roughly speaking?
>>
>>33356749
Suppressors might happen if Bernier gets into office, not before then. In any event the only firearm I have with a threaded barrel is my VZ58, but I'd buy a suppressor for it.
>>
>>33356749
>>33356776
Suppressors might happen regardless. There's a lawsuit in the works. Preventing people from using safety equipment isn't legal and hearing impairment is a serious problem.

To answer your question, I'd start producing suppressors, lol.

So is anybody worried about the Vote "scandal" O' leary is bitching about? Seems like he doesn't want first time party members votes to count which in turn would hurt not only mad max, but O'Leary's campaign as well, I wonder what he's up to with this stunt.
>>
>>33359511
There were something like 1100 memberships (less than 1% of the current total electorate) which were purchased with pre-paid cards, which is against the CPC rules. That's all that was found. Given O'Leary's seemingly perfect knowledge of the incident before hand, I wouldn't be surprised if it was part of a smear against other candidates or against the CPC party when he loses.
>>
>>33359593
They were apparently purchased from two IP's.
>>
>>33359608
That too, again, it wouldn't surprise me if O'Leary rigged this to happen to make himself look better and give him excuses if he loses.
>>
>>33351435
Any word on when they are getting here? I keep seeing more delays even for the guys who pre-ordered
>>
>>33359669
Sometime July.
Chinese bumped the production back to make an order of AKs for a state. After that is a run of Type 81s for themselves and us. After that there is apparently no production plan for more 81s for a few years.
>>
>>33359620
15000 bucks is pocket change for him.
>>
>>33359686
Hopefully I can nab one but I want to wait until other people have gotten some use out of them.
>>
>>33359722
You're probably going to be out of luck then.
The pre-order is partly to gauge interest. They won't be ordering too many extras. They'll be going for 25% more on the second hand market within the first month.
>>
>>33359511
>>33359593
Wait so people can game the system buy buying a bunch of membership several times? WTF? O'leary can just elect himself practically then?

Yeah I'm going to have to disagree with you there. That suggestion is only slightly more sensible than the 'logic' that people want to use to shut down BLM protests (ya know, because they slow down traffic, and that's so horrible!).

Claim that the violent minority represents the motives of the majority, ignoring any attempts they make to distance themselves from the violent ones, and then use that violence to persecute the whole group despite them having a point more often than not.

Or did you forget that Poverty is completely eliminated in Canada because of a couple Motions passed in the late 80's and early 90's.

I'm the poster you originally responded to. Toss me a throwaway email so we don't upset the mods.

My point is that 1) you can't ignore them 2) you can't have a dialogue with them.

You can't ignore them because our rights are being consistently stripped away via extrajudicial bodies (social justice tribunals, that is the institution's literal name) and legislation such as C-16.

The Canadian Human Rights tribunal has a 100% conviction rate. Think about that. It's a serious undermining of our existing judicial system and they forgo a lot of things that are established principles in the legal system like the presumption of innocence.

Dialogue has been made impossible because resisting means you are Hitler himself. Blockades of public venues, disruption via loudspeakers, chanting, airhorns, cowbells, etc.

What alternative is available?

Toss me a throwaway email.

It's the Globe Firearms Ltd. Model 555 Mohawk. Not too many were made (thank christ, they're made off butchered Finn SVTs), but it's not that expensive to get one. I still need to figure a way to secure that heat shield properly. And the gas system is way too short-I seriously cannot get it apart. Once I figure those two issues out, I'll be happy.
Eventually, though, I'll replace it, likely with a Savage 11 Scout.

Just learned that muzzle loaders don't require a license. Since my resources is very limited at the moment, I can afford a gun but not a license. Is it worth it to go with the old black powder?
>>
>>33382043
Black powder can be a bit of a bitch to find at times since it's classified as an explosive, and regular smokeless powder isn't. How much is a license where you are? Mine was 50 bucks here in rural Manitoba.
>>
>>33382180
Mine is gonna be about $200. Southern Ontario. How difficult is it to get black powder?
>>
>>33382216
200 is a rip off. Is that your only option for the course?

I'm not sure about Ontario, but where I am I'd have to drive over two hours to find a store that sells blackpowder. If you live in a larger city, I imagine it would be much easier.

Lol what the fuck, where do you get your information?

They absolutely do not have "100% conviction rates". Tribunals have to adhere to the same legal & procedural principles found in any Court of Justice. I actually doubt a judicial body such as a tribunal would forgo such principles, especially ones enshrined in our FUCKING CHARTER - If they did, they absolutely would not fucking exist.

And no, you're wrong - these bodies are not monologues. Not at all. Inbreds with half a dick from Smalltown Ontario can be an advocate in front of a tribunal adjudicator who will grant wide latitude and 100% of the time there are no retards to stop you. If they did, the Sheriff would have them in chains slapping his long dick of the law across their face. If there are any adjudicators in judicial bodies that treat you with impropriety or appear to be some Liberal Dyke that is serious grounds for appeal - in fact I can say with confidence they'd be even raped by Wynne's attorney general himself

I was thinking about a Ruger 10/22 since the sticky recommends a .22 for a first gun

>>33387857
Yeah it is. Only 200 bucks right now too. Whats your build? As long as your an adult male you should be fine with sks as your first gun. .22 is more for children and women who cant handle heavier guns with more recoil

I did a quick lazy search and found nothing, but:

Has that whole Ruger magazine court case thing blown over yet? You know, that stupid pistol they made that can take a big magazine that doesn't fit in with our stupid laws or something.
Can we buy real magazines for .22's? Or drum mags?
>>
>>33387894
Yeah man you should for sure get an sks first then. I feel like a .22 will be underwhelming for you. They are great to have but I like my sks and mosin much more
>>
>>33387864
>.22 is more for children and women who cant handle heavier guns with more recoil

As someone who bought a VZ as their first rifle I must disagree with this statement. .22 has its place, whether it be for hunting small game, practicing the fundamentals of shooting, or simply blasting away hundreds of rounds without worrying about the cost. It's a versatile caliber that you can have a lot of fun with.

>>
>>33388937
10/22s are NR in Canada, but the magazines are limited to 10 rounds, instead of the typical rimfire rifle unlimited, because Ruger made a "pistol" version and the RCMP are dicks, so now it has to follow the pistol limits.
>>
>>33388950
Except the rcmp ruling has long been declared as bs. There haven't been any charges or arrests for a reason. Not to mention it only applies to the bx25 mags specifically.
>>
>>33389107
Yeah, sure. But it doesn't change that the RCMP basically said that it's illegal as far as they care, and they'll try to take you to court and waste your time and money before dropping the case when it's inevitable that they'll lose so as to not set a precedent. They use the criminal justice system as the punishment.

To be fair, illegal immigration is less of an issue here
Going off of some quick estimates, illegals in Canada are 0.3% of the population (100,000/30,000,000), while in the States, they're around 3.7% of the population (11,000,000/300,000,000) (these are very rough estimations keep in mind)
>>
>>33392406
In terms of a numbers game they really aren't much of an issue. You'll also most likely find them in the big cities. Like Toronto, Vancouver, etc.

It wouldn't be all that hard to find a good portion of them and kick them out if there was ever a need to do so.

So really, illegal immigration isn't a a forefront issue. It should still be dealt with, but with a practical application. Rather than the emotional tear jerking Trudeau tries to pull.

What can you use to carry vz 58 magazines? I lost my 4 mag pouch in a fire. Also I think my rifle has the gremlin, sometimes if someone rides the charging handle and it doesnt close all the way I'll smack the charging handle to close and the trigger dead. If I have it with no magazine, I will let it slowly and it stops halfway and smacking the handle closed recreates these conditions where the striker falls with the bolt carrier. SKS is same price for gun, cheaper ammo, and you'll have more fun with it.
>>33396636
Price converted to CAD+ about 300 if you go through importer and it's from the states.
>>
>>33396668
Get an SVT-40 instead while you still can at a decent price from Lever Arms lmao

>Buy a Nugget for ~$200
>Or an Auto Nugget for ~$400
>>
>>33396668
The ammunition is somewhat cheap and the rifle is cheap. That part is good.

If you're not very familiar with shooting you MIGHT develop a flinch when shooting a full sized rifle caliber to start with. Not guaranteed but it's possible.

You're also paying the price of a full sized rifle round. I'd much more readily recommend you an SKS if you're a little strapped for cash or a vz58 if you've got a bit to spare.
If you want to get good at shooting and not take a hit on your wallet you're going to be shooting a lot. That full sized rifle round price is going to kill your wallet as opposed to an intermediate caliber after a while.

I love my nugget. I was lucky, it was only $180 and is an all matching hex. You won't regret it, but the SKS and auto nugget are very fun too.
The SKS has really cheap ammo is and is a lot of fun to shoot, but sort of a pain in the ass to clean. The same goes for the SVT-40, fun to shoot, but painful to clean. Some SVT-40s can be outright shit as well, and jam a lot, but most are fine. They're also lighter than the SKS which is pretty cool.
>>
>>33396776
Owning an SVT, an SKS, a Mosin, and a VZ58, I have to say the Mosin is the easiest to clean (given the lack of gas system), the SVT is the hardest, VZ58 is the one gun I could shoot the longest, and the SVT is most fun for short term (the concussion from the break gives me a headache after a few mags though). SKS is good all arounder, SVT is fun but I wouldn't say it's a good first gun. VZ58 is my general go to recommendation for people with the money to afford it.
>>
>>33396872
With the Mosin being the easiest to clean, would that be a point in its favour as a first? It would get me used to taking something apart and putting it back together.
>>33396790
>Some SVT-40s can be outright shit as well
I assume this is a risk for the SKS and nugget?
>>
>>33396930
I've never heard of nuggets being outright shit when they're bought fresh out of the cosmoline. Then again, I've never owned a nugget either. I've fired one though, and it seems like a solid starter gun for a grown man.

It's extremely unlikely the nugget will have any major problems. If the serials match or are electro-stenciled to match, and this goes for basically all Soviet milsurp, it should be fine. The only problem my Mosin has is with extraction, sometimes casings expand too much and it makes it hard to pull the bolt back. The SKS is quite a bit more robust when compared to the SVT-40 (not to say that it's a bad gun) and I've never heard of people having problems with them. I've spent time with all three, and all are fun to shoot. SVT-40 is the most comfortable due to it's lightness and the way it absorbs recoil, SKS is pretty good and the nugget has a bit of kick, but not too bad. The nugget takes no effort to clean, the bolt needs to be wiped down and the barrel needs some hot water and a boresnake or patches run down it. As for the SKS and SVT-40, the gas system gets corrosive residue on everything. On my SKS I have to even clean the recoil spring after I'm done shooting. Non corrosive 7.62x39 can be found for decent prices though, so if you hate cleaning you can negate it. I think if you don't mind cleaning though, seriously consider an SVT-40 or SKS. It is a lot more fun to send rounds down range via rapid fire as opposed to bolt action.

Why does Mr. Bernier's proposed gun legislation fail to deprohibit any of the prohibited-by name firearms? In fact, it makes it harder to deprohibit the firearms by putting it in law instead of OIC.

>Non-Restricted:
>(a) a firearm that is not a prohibited or restricted firearm.
>Prohibited:
>(a) a fully-automatic firearm,
>(b) a firearm that is adapted from a rifle or shotgun, whether by sawing, cutting or any other alteration, and that, as so adapted, is less than 660 mm in length.
>(c) a firearm that is listed as prohibited prior to June 20, 2016.
>Restricted:
>(a) a firearm that is not a prohibited firearm,
>(b) a handgun that is not a prohibited firearm,
>(c) a firearm that is designed or adapted to be fired when reduced to a length of less than 660 mm by folding, telescoping or otherwise.

Learn English. Also with his legislation he wants to get rid of the prohibited by name BS.
>>
>>33398009
Likely because wanting to reclassify hundreds of guns into a more accessible category would make both the Conservative candidates and opposition go strongly against him. Making the AR15 non-restricted and removing magazine limits is already madman enough. It's a great step in the right direction and I trust Mad Max will work towards properly reclassifying incorrectly prohibited firearms if he is Prime Minister.

The T97 has been known to have some problems. I'm sure some of them are alright, but it's just kind of a cheap gun. A lot of people just don't like bullpups either.
