That's one way of looking at it. If you see America as just some patch of dirt that makes anyone who's born here an American. But if you see America as a land of pioneers founded in 1776 in the context of her original people's Anglo-Saxon, common law tradition, then obiously that implies that some people are more or less American, with people who come here for guns or come illegally or do not care for a limited government and welfare state being less American.
