I tried the MBT versus blu's SSA-E

The SSA-E has a rougher first stage (might just need some grease, mine has been greased recently)

But the SSA-E has almost no noticeable creep on the break at all, whereas the MBT has creep on the break that is noticable on every single pull if you pull slow enough.

Do you think you NEED a free floated barrel? I have a frankengun that's more or less an A4 clone. BCM 20" upper with a KAC quad rail on it.

Not a true clone because it has a bcm mod4 charging handle and the lower, also a bcm, has one of their gunfighter grips on it. Can't afford much else at the moment though.

Question for ARG:

I had my first real malfunction in my AR today. No round in the chamber over-bolt double feed. Dicked up the finish pretty good getting the round out from the bolt before I just took the castle nut off and yanked the bolt out the rear.

After I fixed it, it feed properly, but wont go all the way into battery. A guy at the range tried to tell me it was because I was firing 5.56 in a .223 chamber (which is not totally correct, as it's a .223 wylde chamber). My opinion is that there's either powder and stuff in the throat of the chamber blocking the bolt lugs from locking, or more likely, that there's something going on with the extractor/ejector that's keeping the bolt from fully closing.

Do either of those problems give an indication of what I should check out first?

I can't say that I tried. It goes into battery without a round or mag in, but I didnt try letting the bolt go home on a round in the chamber with no mag in.

Will try to sort it out on my range trip tomorrow, but I definitely need to scrub the bolt down a bit and get all the powder out, since I wedged the bullet out of the over bolt round so that I wasn't working with something "live" (realizing the primer could still have gone off and just lit all the shit in the upper on fire)
