We have a lot of outside barking dogs, and barking and howling during the day don't do shit. Distress is pretty much a go to, whether it's call or scoring a hit on a coyote and letting it do the distress call.

The farmers in their fields use howls more with distress. And a guy down the road just lets his guinea fowl roam around and picks off coyotes from his tower blind.

I'd say hang out at your local Sportsman club and see what they're doing for your area.

Yea your results will be different. Ours are heavily pressured and very skittish because they're hunted with such prejudice. Howls and barks work at night but rarely during the day here. There's a local place that gives like $15 for an average sized pelt so I might as well skin them. Really its because I live on a farm and they're starting to bother the cattle which they've never done before, so I figured I'd do something about it. I've killed a few here and there before but never truly hunted them.

I've always wanted to shoot a groundhog with a 170gr FNSP loaded to I think it's 2700FPS out of my 30-06. The 170s are a soft 30-30 bullet meant to expand at slow speeds, so they detonate when jacked up.
