belt pouches
before this thread dies, I'm going to make a youtube video about the tyr tactical ifak and things you need to consider before mounting it on a gunfighter belt. Has to do with the stability of the pouch.
I'm also going to make a pastebin about pouches specifically soon, I promise

Wether I'm gay or not is none of your God damn business.

m8, ur hurting muh fucking feelings stop that

companies discontinue their products quickly and without warning. My STT is discontinued and replaced with the STT.1 want a first spear stt that works with esapis? get fucked, you have to buy SKDtac's plates now

but looking at the combined mayflower/velocity systems lineup, the low pro carrier and law enforcement carriers are both really similair. Furthermore there are still a few lwpcs floating around out there if you just gotta have one.

What does /gq/ think of the Rush 72 bag in sandstone?

>>
>>32928031
Yes, I have found them as you said at atarmor and eBay. The carrier has features I like, features that the lepc does not. I prefer the cummerbund that the lwpc has and the full front Velcro. I do not know of any other cummerbund on the market that has both molle and elastic holsters on the inside.
>>
aight, look at this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Safariland-070-91-92-LH-Mid-Ride-Jacket-Slot-Duty-Holster-H-K-USP-4-25-Level-3-/111969771918?hash=item1a11eb218e:g:gXUAAOSw5L9XEBce

I'm running into two problems with my usp holster: I'm broke and I don't know what I want.
this holster is used, so there is no lead time for manufacture. It's cheap ($40) its quality (safariland). It's clearly a dated design though, but so is my usp. Should I go for it? Worse come to worse I'll have it for my rainbow six raven shield cosplay I desperately want to do.

that is an anon, and I'm not going to reveal his name. He is a grade-A shitposter that generates massive butthurt amoung airshitters. He also rolled onto a pea grenade during a night ambush, saving my "life". 10/10, would follow into battle

>>32928074
someone else does it I swear. First spear does velcro stuff on the inside and Velcro pouches and I think theres' a tubes cummberbund refit kit now, which is cool as hell. I'm less of a fan of tubes on the shoulder, but first spear tubes is a great cummerbund system.

If you looked at their home page, you would notice that they posted a message stating that they are inundated with military contract orders and are trying to fulfill them which most likely would have a higher priority over individual orders.

I have ordered from them in the past and they have been very fast with shipping.

My current belt. Moved fully back to ALICE clips from plastic MALICE clips as I found they held the belt more securely.

This belt is a distinct evolutionary descendant of my deployment belt in several ways- the belt mounted primary medical kit, the continued use of a Serpa holster, the mounting of a multitool. It is much lightened from the deployment kit in many ways; both because I am required to carry far less, allowing me to do without things such as a cumbersome buttpack, and from looking at more options such as moving away from a tall and thick full battle belt system to a lighter belt. Also a reduced number of mags compared to the number initially carried on a deployment belt (that number parred down over time), and because I am not dealing with having my chest space taken up with heavier and bulker equipment like a military radio and mil-specific electronics.
>>
>>32928247
I'm not a fan of double-decker tacos. I don't like the outward bulk, and the pistol mag is kinda hard to draw. but I like your belt kit, glad it works for you.

I put the frame together for this ALICE pack.

I'm looking forward to getting the pack back from TT soon. It's getting a hydration pocket, fastex buckles, and some other stuff done.

Total price was high because I wanted matching m81. The pack is m81 as well. MOLLE pads are extremely hard to find. Platatac makes some multicam pads for the 1606 frame. You can buy the frame direct from DEI for like $35 and it's much better than the aluminum frame. If you have more money the best frame is the NICE.
>>
>>32928267
It was a concession made to free up as much space as possible along the belt so that I could reduce how crowded it felt.

The rifle/pistol combo pouch works well in my opinion. I think the fact that it's attached by a clip going all the way around the body of the belt makes it sit more securing than if I were attaching with MOLLE. I did try a rifle/rifle combo pouch briefly, and that really wanted to pull away from my body and I did not like that at all.
>>
>>32928321
So far with my limited use with it I like it a lot and yes I was looking at the MSW pouch after using my setup with my radio in the front (its fucking trash and limits my movement) I will have to bite the bullet and buy one sometime.
>>

For a pattern used for over 30 years all over the world, woodland is really hard to find.
>>
How many of you guys strictly run a first line set up? I mean assuming you have a rifle you'd obviously want a CR or PC, but if you are a pistol only anon are you confident your first line fits your mission?

The more I think about it, the more I think a solid first line set up is probably the most use-able and realistic set up. For general range shooting or a course, you can wear it and not look like a mall ninja. For SHTF you could conceal it easily yet still have everything you need.
>>
>>32928526
Probably because there was no industry for it. Everything you can get is surplus.

Bending over with this thing on is a bitch, considering a smaller belt. I like it for having lots of stuff and standing around but crouching and shit is annoying. Gonna get a different inner belt and see if that helps more. Might just need to adjust it

So the tube cummerbund seems like a good idea.

What would be a good carrier to go with it?

My criteria is velcro front, place for buckles on top of carrier for chest rig.
Comfort is ideal too, padded straps, decent carrier padding/ventilation.

>>32929277

The construction is pretty good, upper-third perhaps (though not in the ballpark of Mystery Ranch, Eberlestock, etc).

I really, really dislike the layout. It's like someone at Jansport went full autistic with pockets, it's laid out like a bookbag. Bookbags make poor 3-day packs because of how far off the back they sit and how you can't access shit from the front very well. I also dislike the fucking enormous "drain holes" they have on the bottom, the thing's about as water resistant as cheesecloth. Also, you can't actually use a *full* hydration bladder with it as the fucking bladder sits *between* you and the single frame stay.

That being said, they fucking nailed the waistbelt design.

If there is any possible way you can swing the $300 for it, Mystery Ranch's 3-day Assault Pack is the best 72hr bag going.

I still use my old issued ALICE web kit (yes I'm old enough I got issued a Y-back pistol belt+suspender setup and not even the "LBV" vest) for varminting, because
1. It's about as breathable as you'll get
2. Works well when prone, and I do a LOT of prone shooting
3. Works okay with a camelbak and 2 extra mag pouches instead of 1qt canteens
I can carry 12, 30rd mags comfortably for a day of blasting prairie dogs, or swap out for 2 1qt canteens, 3 mags, and a pistol for when I'm running my trap line or sitting out for coyotes.

I'm building a rather extensive first line battle belt that should work reasonably well with a PC on top.

2 pistol mags, 4 rifle mags, two 1L Nalgenes in separate pouches, dump pouch, IFAK, and UV5R.

>>32928628
>>32928676
It is designed for the extended battery.
I've got that pouch, but I'm not thrilled with it. It is good, but a little bit large and overbuilt.
I actually think most Tactical Tailor stuff is overbuilt. That is probably why they started the Fight Light line of gear.

I like Nalgenes. 2L isn't bad. I plan to put another two Nalgenes on the carrier.

I don't like bladders. I've done the calculations, 3L in Nalgenes is like barely half a pound more than 3L in a bladder. Isn't a big deal for 7lbs of water.

This battle belt is first line. Seems like radio and water belong on it.

Yeah widemouths are a bitch. They get all over you face.

Narrow ones are hard to fill up and are too tall.

Nalgene needs to make something in the middle.
I don't like sucking from tubes and I don't like the durability of a bladder. Don't get me wrong, they are durable, but a Nalgene is more durable.

To his defense, all but two people were asleep and we were all woken up by the upstairs watch yelling at us about two seconds before the grenade came through the window. Knowing him, it's entirely possible he was just rolling back over to go to sleep when the grenade sandwiched itself between his sleeping bag and the concrete.

To another point, I was also out of the room when this happened, so I wouldn't know.

It's really thick and either my rig hits it if I'm using my ak rig or it just restricts movement because of where it sits. It isn't easy to adjust so when I have more clothes on it rides higher, I think a new inner belt would fix that though.
>>
>>32933060
I'm 6,0 or 6,1' and if I wore a warbelt (albiet not exactly on my belt line) and my pc there would be an inch gap if that between the two.

Not to mention that thing looks even wider than the HSGI war belt so Jesus Christ.

I'd go with a Ronin Senshi personally. They're extremely solid, wide hook and loop so the thing never moves and the Senshi or TF belts have a plastic under weave to make them stiffer and hold shape better. Even at that the Gunfighter or Warrior's are still pretty stiff.

condor-tactical-belt-10.jpg
52KB, 500x216px
So before anyone jumps on me, I'm using a condor tactical belt to currently test the water of what setup and gear I like and don't like.

I definitely prefer these standerd type belts to molle war belts. However, not surprising the condor is kinda shitty, it's thick which is great for attaching gear by alice clips so they don't move at all. But it's a pain in the ass to adjust, it's too thick in the front due to the belt being essentially double layered(due to how you adjust). So you can't put most pouches up there, and the plastic buckle is trash. Also, im using alice clips, belt loop pouches and molle pouches all on the belt. The molle and some of the belt loop pouches slide around alot. I'm forced to basically put belt on, attach pouches, adjust them into their correct position, adjust belt a little, attach belt keepers, adjust some more things, etc... till I'm finally good to go.

Whats a better belt in this style that

>can accept regular belt loop style pouches, molle pouches and alice clips.
>I can use the entire length of the belt around my hips for gear
>easy to adjust
>easy to sling around my hips
>when I put pouches on, they stay on and don't move.

What I want is basically a tac belt with all my pouches and gear where they should be, that I toss around my hips, buckle it up, attach some belt keepers if needed. Then I'm good to go.

Price is $100-$150, cheaper is better and I can go higher if I absolutely nust. Be reasonable.

Currently I'm using a riggers belt in my pants loop to keep my pants up, then use 4 2" inch belt keepers to help the tactical belt stay in place around the riggers belt. If that makes a difference.

Also bonus points for a great ak mag pouch for belts, I got one strike hard gear single mag shingle, and I'm finding it hard to pull the mag out.

Kthnx sorry for being 2 stoopud
>>
>>32933087
I'm 6'8", the belt has 4 rows of molle on the side and 5 on the back. Its meant to hold a lot of shit and it does, it plays nice with my pc with a tshirt on but with my legat vest and a jacket it rides to high
After seeing blus inner belt and tyr belt I really like the ability to just tear it off and retain an actual belt
>>
>>32933093
Looking at the pastebin, it seems that the LAB belt is the way to go? Seems I can buy all the pouches and shit that I need along with it. Any other options that may be better? Should I go for it? How do those uni mag pouches work for ak mags
>>
>>32933093
Ton of options out there. A surplus USMC MOLLE belt is ~$20 on Amazon.

For your current belt you are able to put pouches up front, you just need to route the MOLLE/ALICE clip between the folded belt pieces. If it is way, way too long you can always cut a bit with some scissors and take a lighter to the cut end to shorten it.

You can prevent pouches from sliding by using ALICE clips for all your pouches, belt keepers, or a little bit of duct tape.
>>
>>32933093
http://www.ronintactics.com/store/p29/Shooters_Belt_.html

I know I keep shilling for Ronin belts but they're top tier. This seems to be what you're looking for
>COBRA buckle
>molle all around
>Easy to adjust
>can accept regular belt loop style pouches, molle pouches and alice clips.
>when I put pouches on, they stay on and don't move.

It has an inner loop belt that acts just as a regular belt and an outer PALS webbing with a nylon weave material on the outer belt with hook on the inside to mount to the inner belt.

>>32933466
The only difference is that I'm not sure if the Tyr can be used as a pants belt as well. The benefit to the ronin is that it acts as your load bearing belt and your hold up your pants belt at the same time.

Idk if the Tyr is JUST a load bearing belt or if it's both.

The only difference looks to be if you pony up for the Senshi or Taskforce Ronin belts that they're stiffer and have those nice rapelling rings.
>>
>>32933535
>The only difference is that I'm not sure if the Tyr can be used as a pants belt as well. The benefit to the ronin is that it acts as your load bearing belt and your hold up your pants belt at the same time.

If you plan on doing that, get suspenders.

>>32933545
Good belts don't require suspenders unless you're overloading them with way too much crap.

Personally have the Ronin Taskforce and it comfortably holds an ifak two HSGI double Decker (rifle and pistol one) taco's, and a holster. Throw on two extra pistol taco's for pistol range days or classes and still fits perfect.

Doesn't move around at all.

The ronin and tyr are basically the same thing just different colors. IMO the ronin looks a tad more stiffer, but not by much. They both offer options for a rappelling ring or rigger option. The TYR does have the padded option so you dont have to connect it to the inner belt, however you can put the inner belt in your pants loops and then put the outer belt on that, just like the ronin.

They are essentially the same product, Id probably go with the ronin if they have the color you want, but I bought the tyr in ranger green. If you get either one your getting top teir belt products. Im unsure of ronins lead times, however tyr has 60 day lead times, so if that bothers you, you might want to consider that aswell.

>Warriors - New 2" Cobra buckle, D ring, same material as Shooters
$165

>Senshi - New 2" Cobra buckle, D ring, Stiffer "Weave camo material"
$184 ($165 in Woodland, but they're sold out for like the next few months)

>TaskForce - New 2" Cobra Buckle, D ring, stiffer "Weave camo material" and the PALS webbing is the same color as the belt, unlike on the Senshi where the PALS webbing is black.
$185 ($165 in Woodland, but they're sold out for like the next few months
>>
>>32934133
Otherwise the only other difference is colors.

Shooters is availabe in CB, Tan/MC, and black
Warriors in CB, RG, Tan/MC, and Black
And the Senshi and TF are in Woodland (out of stock for eternity) and multicam.

>>
>>32934248
Why not protect your entire body, arms, legs and head?

Each inch of plate contains a non-negligible amount of weight. Each inch of plate also restricts mobility and dexterity/flexibility. The entire purpose is to protect the internal organs that result in a guaranteed death if hit.

8x10 does that for many folks, 10x12 is the standard for a vast majority of folks. 11x14 would cover gigantors.

it's not just tac holsters, and it's a formatted mess, but I'll work on it

alright, I'm going to blog for a sec:
my long term plan for my tyr tactical belt is to transfer everything to blue force gear pouches. In order of priority:
>a bfg double pistol for light/pistol mag
>bfg micro trauma kit now to replace tyr
>bfg single rifle low ride rifle mag to replace taco

I just keep looking at bfg pouches and seeing their multirole use and lightweight low pro set up.
my tyr ifak would return to my plate carrier. The micro trauma kit would be light, not bounce, and allow me to easily sit with my belt on.
the taco replacement is low priority because the taco works.

Hence why I didn't buy it.

That being said, the closeup photos of the pants on Gearcraft's website didn't look particularly inspiring on build quality either. Pulled threads, everything's only single-stitched, no comment on material and appears to be standard cotton twill.

I mean, if you say it's quality, okay. I know their pouches are supposed to be good but I haven't heard anyone talk about their other products.

That being said, I did order 3 of their faux TACOs and their micro chest rig. $73 shipped is hard to argue with.

Yeah it's the 72. I really appreciate how they set it up with regards to compartments and internal pouches. I would have some reservations about putting serious mileage under my boots with it though. Stitching and materials are more solid than expected and it's 100% good to go as a range/truck/day hunting bag, but lots of folks are adamant that long term durability is suspect. Time will tell.

The cover is a cheap one I buy 2 or 3 at a time off Amazon. I tend to shred these things relatively quick one way or another, but they work, fit a few of my packs really well and are cheap enough to destroy and replace without losing any sleep.

lol, I'm the polar opposite on the way they laid out the internals on it. I think it's dumb and almost as overdone as my Eberlestock McMillan.
>yo dawg, we heard you like pockets...
Also, I really hate the fact they sandwich their hydration pocket between your back and the single center frame stay. It would work if they used 2 stays at the sides of the pack but as they have it you can't have your bladder more than half full without it making the back of the pack convex and thus prone to rolling side to side (or just outright popping your bladder if you have more than ~20lbs in the pack, which it would easily hold). And the two humongous drain ports in the bottom (the one place most likely to be in contact with wet ground or kicked up mud/water) is retarded, there's a reason why every backpacking pack ever has a reinforced, waterproof bottom. Pretty much 100% necessitates dry bags for anything capable of absorbing water in your pack unless you live innadesert, and even then I'd be worried about sand/debris intrusion.

I do really like their waistbelt though, too many tactical packs either have just the web belt that really sucks at load transferrance, or a full-wrap padded belt that interferes with armor/holsters.

I guess it comes down to different use. I have so much small little shit I like to keep separate that the small admin portion is perfect for separating all my assorted emergency and shooting bullshit. Might feel differently if I was trying to use it as a serious trail pack.

As for the bottom drainage holes, they probably did it because the rest of the pack repels water about as well as a sponge. Without a cover even a light rain will get shit inside the pack soggy if it's not in its own waterproof bag.

I agree on the belt though, pretty well done, though I really don't use it since it's not much of a long haul or heavy load pack for me.

The bladder being sandwiched worried me at first, but after filling it with a 3L and taking it out hunting a few times it really didn't bother me too much. That might change if I was trying to get some real running and gunning done with it on.

>looking at you Eberlestock

No striker trigger has ever truly made me happy, but the VP9 has gotten to the "good enough" stage and thanks to the ergos I'm extremely accurate with it (relative to my accuracy with other pistols). As a matter of fact the only other pistols I've been able to group tighter with have been 1911s and the very first 226 I owned.

Don't worry about missing the hammer, small autistic detail and the grip ergos really do lend the gun to the P30.

>>
>>32940896
They're field gear deserving of a place in a field loadout tho'. Moreover chest mounted hands free lighting and helmet lighting is tacticool that's semi-permanently attached.

The L-shaped lights were a fixture of troops for decades. That style is outdated now, but plenty of mini LED l-shapes or chest mounted stuff out there now for the kids.

As for headlamps. Maybe not tacticool, but life innafield is much easier with a red headlamp when you're inside your wire and trying to semi-tactically trying to not trip over literally everything.

As noted, THOSE particular lights are outdated now, but many smaller modern options exist- high lumen output, LED, small size, smaller batteries.

Plus head/helmet lamps.

Yup. I see only a few headlamps around here, and only in a blue moon a helmet lamp.

Merely talking that lights are an important thing for field or "innawoods" type gear.
