I've always kind of wanted a "combat jacket" type top for colder weather. It was more applicable to when I had to wear full armor in the military, where the vest alone kept my core toasty, but my arms were cold. I always had to make the choice between wearing lighter clothing to avoid overheating but having cold arms, or wearing heavier clothing and my core being hot as fuck.

If you can sew, I'd be incredibly interested in a fleece or similar material styled combat shirt. Throw in some venting zippers on the armpits and some tacticool shoulder pockets, and you got a product, son.

Not a BDU top, a slip over top with no seams.

Something like a waffletop with fleece/jacket styled arms.

Imagine wearing a heavy IOTV in the snow. The IOTV keeps your chest warm as fuck already, but your arms are sticking out to the cold.

1. Reduce meme pouches
>2. Implying Baofengs are good
3. Get a proper radio pouch because if that microphone fails (which they can, and do) you're going to want that on-radio PTT to be available.

Also when you get a longer antenna it's going to whip you in the mouth like that. Trust me.

If your looking for a day back with no Molle just get a civ one in black. Osprey makes some good ones. The only thing that really makes a "tactical" pack, tactical is the Molle, unless your looking for super specific pouch for something.

Those hiking day packs are pretty damn durable too

You might be able to force two in there if you leave the middle empty, but I would suggest going with a different pouch. Be aware that once you stretch out a shingle like that, your 5.56 mags will slop around.

If you want to use the same rig with different rifles, I suggest TACOs. I have used the same pouches for ARs, AKs, and 7.62 SCARs.

One TQ might not stop all the bleeding. There are cases where people have applied 2, or even 3 TQs to the same wound to get the bleeding to stop.

Also, in an emergency, it suddenly becomes very hard to find *that one specific thing* you desperately need, if you are carrying multiples you increase your dumbass future self's chances of getting ahold of it quickly.

Over seas, most guys in my unit carried 5, count them- 5, TQs on their everyday kit.

I have an outdoor research ferrosi hoody that I have used quite a bit this winter with a fleece and it has done well at blocking the wind from taking my heat, it's very light and packable, stuffs in its pocket. Though it doesn't do well when it's below 30 and really windy, and it will only take very light rain.

I also have a jack wolfskin hooded softshell. It's thicker and has a very light fleece lining. I have yet to find a temp/wind combo were it starts stripping my heat. I've Hiked for an hour in drizzling rain and didn't get wet, although it doesn't have taped seams(I didn't notice that when I bought it or I wouldn't have). Has all the fancy stuff like pit zips, Velcro cuffs, double front zip, and double adjustable hood. Very nice all in all.

I have a suggestion for an addition to the IFAK list. Immodium AD. you can buy bulk immodium at Costco. It's like $10 for 500 capsules. It could really save your life on a 3 day with excursion. Most people who have ever died in war died of diarrhea. If you are in the boonies and your friends and you all had bad water or bad food or you got sick somehow it could save your life. I know IFAKs are more for plugging holes but don't forget about the most important hole to plug.
>>
>>32881266
But diarrhea isn't cool, GS wounds are.
>>
>>32872563
nigga thats the one and same
>>
>>32881266
Already stocked up, friendo.

I am very strongly of the opinion to have the contents of medical kits separated into an 'immediate first aid' kit fo immediate life threatening trama, and a 'delayed aid kit' to deal with things that don't require shaved off seconds while applying treatment.

The trauma kit has all the TQs, chest seals, gauze, and similar.

Delayed aid kit has diarrhea meds, headache meds, salt, sugar, tweezers, antibiotic cream, moleskin, safety pins, and then extras of what's in the first aid kit. Also a lot of water and a space blanket packed in the bag.

The last thing you want when dealing with a trauma situation is a bunch of ancillary crap like diarrhea meds and tweezers and shit spilling out while you're on the clock to stop a bleeding wound. Two separated kits keeps everything nice and clean.

Does anyone have a Fighting Load Carrier? Is it any good?
>>
>>32881850
It's actually pretty good if you aren't wearing armor and if you adjust it to your body correctly.

Load it up with similar logic as you would with an ALICE belt. Don't put a lot of heavy things on the chest MOLLE, try to keep 99% of your gear on where the camo pattern is. Take care to balance the weight of the load on the left and right sides.

Tape up the hanging straps.

If you get a fighting kit with pouches, remove the GI triple mag pouches, those are trash. The rest of the pouches are fine.
>>
>>32881850
what makes them worth while is the price. they are dirt cheap, almost to the point of being disposable. you could outfit several for different purposes or rifles, and still spend less than for what the fuck ever seals or marsoc are sporting this year.

>the gear sits too low and fucks with my cool guy operator operations belt.

Even though it's a vest, it is supposed to sit really low like that to help distribute weight. 'Member that it's an ALICE replacement, and also that like 90% of troops don't wear pistols or other stuff to make up a coolguy operator belt kit. Most dudes wear everything on the chest, and GI gear is built for the masses.

I recommend FLCs as one of babby's first gear choices since it is durable, and once you move to something else you can still canibalize all the MOLLE pouches on the new gear.

Plus you can totally remove the inner belt and have babby's first battle belt in combination with a different chest setup.

For the price and experience level of most people getting them, FLCs a bretty good value. Better than getting something like that bullshit 'Condor Operator Kit' that gets shilled around here...

Because for some reason people too poor to buy plates want to buy plate carriers early. They think it will "save money" in the long run to not start with a chest rig. I know, I know. Retarded.

Official poorfag GQ starters are basically FLCs or ChiCom +ALICE belt/USMC belt/duty belt, but people want to jump up the operator rungs and be more "tactical" than their budget allows. Hence the scam kit.

So calling hits is basically an honor system thing with blanks. At Gap everyone was really good about it, but at grozny there was a whole platoon of new guys on NATO who wouldn't call shit. It's awesome when people do, the general rule is you have to react if you see they're firing at you. Whether that is finding cover or dying

Special operations cold weather kit. The Rangers from the middle-00s Iraq have kind of a distinct look because they were the guys wearing the foilage green/grey ones a lot.

COD:MW2 Taskforce designs apes a lot of the Iraq US Ranger look while adding some multicam on top of them to make them stand out from the *actual* Rangers in the game which just wear bog standard UCP ACUs. I'm into 3d design, so I kind of over analyze this stuff at a glance.

It's a softshell, so if you want that it probably works for you.

If you want something comfy for cold weather while you aren't too worried about large amounts of actual rain, I really love the first generation black Polytech fleece jacket. It's comfy and not obnoxiously tacticool. I wear it outdoors a lot, and if there is rain toss on a cheapo walmart rainjacket on top.

Or you just get a lined softshell jacket on some kind from one of the many companies out there. I have a non-tactical Patagonia jacket which is pretty nice.

Very popular company that makes affordable, mid-quality gear. IMO, a decent section of their gear markets towards the wannabee secret squirrels "greymen" with fantasies of being secret agents, so be warned when asking about their bags and stuff online you get a lot of cringe about that whole aspect of it. But if you find the functionality of the gear works for you, it's decently made. Their pants are pretty nice if you just want cargo pants for hiking or general outdoors.

>>32885336
My opinion for starting from the ground up- Build a belt first. Then add in whatever you'd like to prioritize, be it a chest rig, daypack, or full ruck. Then fill in the holes in that layout of gear. Then armor. Then you start going nuts refining gear, getting spendy optics, NODs, etc.

The evolution of the gear should go hand in hand with increased training, so always being buying bulk ammunition. Set yourself up some objective tests and track your score or progress. Continue a cycle of refreshing basics while slowly integrating more 'tacticool' skills. Don't just jump straight from no skills to tacticool, that's how you become a weak shootin' range ninja in gear more advanced than you are. Read FMs to get an idea of what sort of tests to apply to yourself. I highly recommend also reading books by Kyle Lamb, one of the most down to earth tactical instructors out there.

To actually answer your question- I am honestly really fond of duty belts. If you have cash and want something more tacticool, get a thin MOLLE belt like the TYR. The big monster battle belts that are 4 PALS loops high are on the way out of fashion.

OD is way more aesthetic. The only reason to get Coyote gear is either if you're in rocky/arid terrain where it actually matches, or if you have no idea where the gear might end up being used (as a military member might) and want something passable for any terrain.

If you have M81 and don't intend to be far from you're home terrain, no reason to get gear in anything but what matches.

You're gonna wanna wear some concealable soft armor and you can honestly straight up duct tape them to the inside of a shirt. No low pro carrier required. Cc a good pistol, literally any Glock will work and carry an extra mag in a pocket. You won't need to reload ever but it fixes your gat if there's a mag issue with the loaded one.

Don't go out looking for a fight, call the cops and absolutly get a flashlight of some kind.

Let us know if you need a door kicker cosplayer kit and we'll hook you up.
Stay safe.

Pretty much rip them off, if in haste you can tape them using electrical tape, prepare for that shit to fall off. I've heard stories of people using paint but that using fades off aswell, best bet is to cut it, if you can't, I'd probably try painting it.

I have a gunfighter belt on the way, I'm looking for a super small slim utility pouch in ranger green, I just need it to hold like a write in the rain

Any ideas?
>>
>>32886907
Ranger green makes it a tough request. I know of EMS glove pouches in black and OD that are super slim.
>>
>>32886966
Yeah I saw those in my search, that's been my problem is finding RG, found some decent OD and blk ones but I'm autistic about finding the right color
>>
How should I store my LBE? Hanging, or flat?
>>
>>32886672
this picture would be the exact same if that were just solid OD
EMR from more than like 10 meters just looks like fuckin OD
>>
>>32887231
i store my alice gear hanging but it really doesnt matter
>>
>>32887231
I've never heard of any issues like hanging a t shirt or anything. If anything I'd say if it's a mesh lbe don't leave it hanging with full magazines, but other than that I wouldn't worry much.

buy a bag of potatos and a brick of butter. all you need to do is cut up one potato and cook it in the butter to make homefries. it will be cheaper then buying instant mashed potatos and it will last you longer.

MP5 is extremely handy and easy to get going. After handling one you can see very quickly why LEOs really like using them against unarmored threats.
