17 was indeed the final one to serve in the 'Stan.

Disgusting.
Do you know what kind of plates, if any, they use?
>>32752028
1) They've always liked copying foreign designs
2) Their country is fuckhuge and encompasses vastly different areas; no camo is universal enough to work in all of them
3) Lots of different military/law enforcement groups who all want distinctive stuff because muh esprit de corps
>>32752053
Disgusting? Maybe.
Helluva lot more practical than the 1960s-tier belt and yoke kit issued to conscripts? Damn sure.

Pair of 4 OCPs and a set of ASUs, couple pairs of summer boots, one pair winter, and all the other shit. All army issued.
Anyone got a good place to get Black/Desert/Woodland helmet covers for a PASGT?
I have an ACU one but that looks terrible and doesn't match any of my gear.
This was my first surplus item iirc
Anyways been hard at work and threw this together. Yes I know the pouch is polish and I'm mixing USSR & modern Russian insignia, but it's a start.

>>32758714
If it's an RDF coat that's wayyyy too high.
>>32759332
Most CADPAT stuff is trash amde in china, and even the canuck issue stuff is garbage.
A quick question Mainly for the Aussie lurkers. Do any of you lot know where to get cheap lightweight 6 colour desert Camo without being raped by US shipping to Australia.
Does the US issue any field jackets like the M65 anymore past the age of BDUs? I served from 04-08 and literally have never seen any. I always just saw and was issued the goretex suit with various fleece layers for under. I hate(ed) the goretex shit because it basically only kept you dry in minor/moderate rain and with enough time it will soak through anyway. Plus it is loud as fuck, I wasn't one of the high speed guys but I can't imagine anyone ever wearing that shit in an lp/op or some other situation where noise is a problem.
>>32759452
No, the field jacket lineage is finally dead. Essentially the same coat since 1943, rip.
>>32759452
Issue? No.
You could purchase the UCP M65 at certain PX's for awhile but they were done away with sometime before 2010, and they never made them in OCP.
Pic is the UCP M65. The liners were recolored to the "foliage" green.
>>32759452
>>32759508
It was issued for a time but was very short lived. I know a few guys that still wear it. I have the one I was issued. I never even took the tags off it. I don't like the M65.

Does anybody recognize this commando sweater?
I impulse bought it for $40 at the local surplus store the other day, and thought it was commercial until I realized that it's 100% wool and nobody seems to sell anything except synthetic sweaters in this price range. There are no national or maker markings on the tag, just "100% Wool," "Size - 38," and euro-style care instruction symbols. It's clearly high quality and definitely wool.
Given the quality vs. the price I'm thinking it must be milsurp from somewhere or other, but I can't find a match anywhere, and the guys at the store didn't know anything about it. The closest I've found were Dutch, but those are a wool/poly blend and not 100% wool, at least as far as I've found.
>>32769958
No matter where you buy, they will go for around 25 EUR. A while back varusteleka had some M36 (which are similar, but not the same) for 10 EUR, but they where pretty quickly sold out.

I was thinking of replacing the standard draw cord with paracord, but I'd be worried it'd be too slippery for the barrel locks.

>removal of the rank slide
>removal of velcro on shoulder pockets
>removal of the weird extra flap and wire on the hood
>replacing the issue zipper tabs with paracord

>>32786319
I'm glad you've upgraded to legit surplus.
>>32786351
Well there's only so much Jack Pyke.
>>32759452
I preferred my field jackets to the goretex because I had two liners sewn edge to edge, could button in another underneath those (I always got XL jackets) and it was warm as fuck riding to work and working on the flightline. I Scotchgarded the shit out of my M65s.
You can also Scotchgard the goretex. It is loud. M65 was a better design and should have been redone in goretex for the people who like that.
Scotchgard is life. Buy two cans, apply to and hang clothing outdoors so you don't gas yourself.
>>32786319
for a second i thought you had a sister that looked just like you.
USAF wore those into the 1980s unchanged so pieces shouldn't be too hard to find. We liked OG507s because they were disposably cheap and very comfortable.
>>32786214
Yep. We called them "wing tanks" and many AF maintainers used them for booze.
>>32786448
We do have a strong family jaw. If you lined us all up back then even; Grandad, father and my two brothers the similarity was striking. More-so now as you might imagine.
QUESTION
I still have an IRR ID and can get on base.
I want to buy some scorpion goretex at the local hooah base for a long trek im planning but my ID says im muhreen reserve. Will laquisha the aafes cashier let me buy it?
>>32786565
What are those boots?
>>32786594
Most won't look that closely at your id anyway
>>32749862
How much should be I be ready to pay for a 60s Bundeswehr boot that is still in great condition?
To answer the OP, I'm not a collector but what got me started into buying military garments for daily use was coming across the British Soldier 95 Windproof Smock online, which I ended up buying after finding on the same website an old grey finnish army wool cargo trouser which is now my favourite piece of clothing and I'm awaiting some old swiss wool trousers now.
>>32786922
The boot comes with a second boot by the way.
>>32786929
But is one of them left and the other right?

>>32781817
Nah, someone outbid me before you bid, so it's OK. Just glad someone I know got it.
I have a couple of Soviet kepi caps coming in the mail, one is the tri-color woodland pattern and the other is khaki (pictured). Does anyone know where I could find a KLMK pattern of this cap?
i want an insulated milsurp coat. not one of the really long ones that come down past the waist. what should i get?
>>32789040
strichtarn. They can be had for decent prices and are God damn comfy.
>>32788987
Spetsodezhda stuff is super collectible for some reason, haven't seen a kepi in awhile in that pattern.
There's a beret, panama, and visor up if you search "berezka" and leave the "militaria" filter on.
>>32789040
>insulated
>not past the waist
So, like an Ike jacket over a sweater?
>>32789075

>>32789286
Hmm, well most military stuff likes to run long.
Maybe a flight jacket or bomber jacket?
There's both surplus and tons of commercial ones in all sorts of styles, materials, and patterns/solid colors.

>>32789444

That looks like a current issue boot but I may just be retarded.
>>32789609
>t
Nah current issue ones I think are coyote brown now, or the combat hikers, I do know the ones i posted were used in the gulf war.
These parkas from Varusteleka have a place for patches on the sleeve? I cannot tell.
https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/bw-parka-flecktarn-surplus/1155
>>32789694
Yeah.
>>32789694
I tinnk they do yes, were you gonna sew one on or will it be a velcro patch? because one arm on the parka has a small pocket while the other doesn't, depending o the year, pre 2005 ones had no velcro sleeve while 2006-on wards will have a velcro area for a patch
>>32789694
Also if you do want one with the velcro/not, i;d get in contact wit then=m to see if they can pick one out just for you.

nice digits
just a guess but looking at the condition, the modern looking liner fabric and the desert color (gulf war 1) I'mma say 93 not 83
>>32780752
>>32782081
>>32782112
I'm pretty sure it's not British, as the last guy said. The Brit ones all have a distinctive "ribbed" pattern, while this is more consistent, if that makes sense. The modern ones also have velcro epaulets and a patch on the front for attaching a badge or nametape, as far as I can tell.
The material of the German ones looks closer but those all seem to have a front pocket.
>>32754114
is it too late to get in on some rhodie camo?
>>32789286
i really like that jacket. i see the brand but i dont suppose it has a model name or something i could try to track one down with?

Is that fur collar button on? I bought one and it had no mention of a fur collar.
>>32789342
Where on earth do you find these?
I live in France and I'm in dire need of finding a milsup store.
Do you guys have any idea where I could command shit online that ships in France?
>>32792586
Check your local, and there's Varusteleka from Finland. They have loads of things but local stores and ebay will always be a good choice as well.
>>32792586
For vietnam visit Moore militaria, ww2 visit AtTheFront, Varusteleka is great for modern stuff or just all around surplus.
>>32791151
>is it too late to get in on some rhodie camo?
Yes.
>>32792586
Zedthefed on ebay. I'll ship anywhere.
I got a real challenge question here. is there a PINK DPM?
>>32793680
I do recall seeing images of female personnel in some dysfunctional brown-people-land rocking pink DPM.
>>32794269
India has a pink camo.
>>32792586
Leave France
>>32792551
Yup. If it doesn't have the collar, you may want to double check it is actually a winter version, and not the standard one.
