Meh. They'll get mowed down. Everyone here is packing or knows someone who has spares. It's also a fairly unified town loaded with mormons. It would probably be stopped rather fast. Only way it's a major threat here is if it's an airborne or waterborne transmission infection rather than standard bite. Other than that zombies would have to basically have human sensing abilities that works hundreds of miles away.

They'd also just freeze. High tomorrow is supposed to be 24 with a low of -2 and light snow followed by more freezing cold and a fuckton of snow that will turn to freezing rain before the end of the week. I would gather up my long spears and sit on top of my local Wal-Mart, no need to waste ammo on melee units that can't reach you.

I would make some half barrel planters and start growing crop to insure food stocks are plenty.

Most of the food in store would already be gone so i would go for the seed.

/tg/ here, I'm going to be running a post zombie game shortly, so I was hoping to get some opinions from the experts.

The main gist is that it's about 2 months after the initial outbreak, most of the people who were going to die have done so already.

The PCs have been fortunate enough to ride out the worst of it in a secluded location, but supplies are running out and they'll soon be forced to venture out to the nearby city area to forage.

What would be some good targets to attempt to loot for supplies in such a scenario?

There's the obvious ones like supermarkets for food, and hospitals for medical supplies, but those would probably be picked over already and probably infested with zombies.

Can you guys think of any less obvious places besides just going door to door in a residential neighborhood?

Crossed infection spreads like wildfire, transition is near instant. They don't die and return to life, they just go ballistic. But if it happened here I'd probable find somewhere easy to defend, fortify and grow food on. Say an office tower or a small island. (yes I'm near both)

Realistically, I'd probably die of starvation or starvation related infection. Basically, I could hole up, but I'd run out of food in a few weeks and then be forced to make a run but as I live in close proximity to 3 million other people, the food would be gone. Likely I'd either slowly starve to death or get infected while scrounging up a jar of pickles.

Bugout is not realistic either. Traffic is impossible just during a normal rush hour. There'd be no way out during an outbreak.
