DA/SA should be more popular. Shame there's this misconception that it's hard to shoot.

t. bench only shooter
>>32534913
You do realize that the exact same setup is popular in competition, right?
A simple dot optic is superior to iron sights because they don't need to be constantly aligned
*1000 on practice
Just remember this is a collector's board, not a shooting board
>>32534899
It's hard to shoot
if you own Glock brand Glocks :^)
>>32535435
Ah perhaps I should have been more clear.
t. high contrast target in optimal lighting condition only shooter
Fiber optic is much much better for target shooting this isn't even a question, just was a mild shitpost that tritium serves a purpose for when your light is less than ideal but seeing the sights without having to rely on perfect shouldering/hold of a handgun would be nice.
truth number 9 you must get good sheth for carrying because bad sheth gun fall threw you get sheth from me i make good sheth i can put desine on it

everyone agrees with this

Fucking agreed. More than half of /k/ would shudder at the thought of buying a $100 shot timer or taking a $500 shooting class.
desu most people on here place to much emphasis on gear and accessories. iron sights look better and shoot almost as well as your $400 optic.
autistic-ly standing by your product is retarded, especially if it's something like a 9mm pistol because the market is rich with good alternatives

I have to agree with you there. Especially here on /k/. I don't shoot close to how much i should and i go out at least once a week.
>fiber optic front/black rear beats tritium any day of the week
Fiber fronts are weak.and break pretty often. I have had them fly off in the middle of a course of fire a few times. Tritium fronts are stronger in that sense than fiber fronts. Full disclosure, I much prefer fiber fronts on all my handguns except my carry/defense guns.
~truth~
>Mosins, specifically 91/30s, have gone from a poor mans 30-06 to as expensive as them and far less accurate and available.

Sure, and kill your night vision.

i think he means in a self defense scenario, which wouldn't last long enough to worry about that.
>>32532814
>you should be as healthy as your weapon is lethal
This is why mosinfags are neckbeards.
>>32538179
the mosin nagant isn't even a bad rifle. it used to be really good for the price, now it's just a pretty good rifle for an okay price.
>>32538130
Gotta preserve your night vision, that's why I have a lit match on my three o'clock rail.
>>32538271
You can't say "it's good for the price" as a judgement of quality. If I get a free mosin in mint condition, does that make it any better? No, it's still a shitty weapon.
>>32532814
>If you don't own a Glock it's because your a hipster.
Maybe I just don't wanna spend a lot of money on modifying a Glock to be the way I want when I can just buy something that fits my hand for the same price.
>>32534899
I have heard the logic that you should get striker fired because you don't need an external safety if you've got a decent holster.
If that's the case what's the difference between that and carrying a handgun in SA and having all safety mechanisms turned off?
>>32533361
This. Picture related.

This is a universal truth
>>32532814

that is just fucking dumb.
>>32535670
>taking a $500 shooting class.
I think that paying for training classes is a meme. If you want to practice for self defense, then practicing drawing/aiming and then shooting (with snap caps mostly) is plenty enough practice. Most civilians who get into self defense situations do well enough without any training at all. Paying hundreds of dollars seems like a very sucker-ish thing to do.

>what grunts actually tell themselves as they cry to sleep, tightly hugging each other because Command didn't see fit to have them carry tents into the field.
>>32538271
For what one costs to buy new, it's bad for the price. Money spent on a mosin at today's prices would be better used on a new, cheap bolt gun like a Ruger American or a Savage 11 or whatever.
>>32532814
>because you're too "cool" for glocks
I just don't feel like overpaying for guns. Why spend $500 on a new glock 19 when for $50 less I could get a CZ 75 Omega which is a much, much, much better gun that costs more to manufacture.
>>32538119
Please tell me this didn't happen.
>>32538943
It depends on the training mate. Learning from experts who have the experience and the failures are valuable for you to learn from in any discipline. Don't learn from bogus teachers though, we agree there.
>>32538997
it only happened if you believe it did
>>32538943
have you ever payed for shooting instruction? If you have by who, any one of note? Shooting, like any other skill, is not something you can really teach yourself beyond the advanced basics. Instructions and proper training will make you far better and help you maximize your own time after you have gone through training.
I've had competitive shooting training from some of the best, Rob Leatham, Max Michel and Jesse Duff and can say it has made me a far better shooter. I would like to go to Gunsite and get some defensive training.
