The stock mount does suck. This sucker locks up solid and once you adjust the tension it does not lose zero. It has a double locking mechanism so accidental activation is near impossible, but I like to prepare for unforseen scenarios. Like I said Im confident in the mount and its locking. It not only has the tension lever locking but a secondary latch as well that must be activated prior to unlocking the primary lever. IMO it is the only QD mount type to get.

Leave the barrel, upper and lower, muzzle device, and buffer tube unpainted.

DO NOT get little colored bits like safeties and mag releases. Shit is gimmicky.
