The only thing that is really "crap" on there is maybe the rail and maybe the trigger. The rest of it is mostly good quality stuff (Aimpoint M2, EOTech magnifier, Troy sights, LaRue mounts, Surefire flashlight), but it's just too much shit on an SBR. He's trying to live that Mk 18 Mod 0 life, but he did large parts of it wrong from the start, so what he has instead is an unnecessarily cluttered SBR.

If it was an accurate Mk 18 clone, I'd let it pass, but at the moment I'm just thinking if you're gonna strap that much outdated shit to a gun for the sake of cloning a period look, you should do it right.

Glock products are nice because every single one of them works and provides you with a really good starting point that requires minimal changed

Sig products are heavy DA/SA dinosaurs from the days when you made a metal DA/SA pistol and that was it. They are obsolete and the p320/p250 series cannot compete with Glock or other popular polymer wonder 9s. Exter sig is also a bunch of fuckups who refuse to make a good Sig550 series rifle. Dont even get me started on their QC issues and legion memes

1911s have all of the negatives of sigs but also handfitted parts and other oldworld shit that lends them to being complete toys. A Mark23 is lighter than a standard gi length 1911 and it has an extra 1" and a DA/SA system.

15" on a 16" is fine. 12-13" is also acceptable.

I want to build my first AR and want to use mega arms stuff, but I don't know dick about AR stuff what should I get from them? What do/should I get from someone else? Price isn't really an issue I'm fine with buying it piece by piece over time if I don't have the money up front.

they both mk4s, the early ones. i always got a kick out of the name "super modular rail" because at the time geissele didnt sell anything for those rails. they didnt even come with proprietary rail sections. seriously.
and to add to the issue, every few months, they would make small changes to the rail itself. the black one and the tan one have different sized spacing between the holes.

thanks. its a surefire m300 with pressure switch on a haley strategic thorntail mount. i have a geissele mount which attaches directly to the rail but since the rail is so short on that gun, its nice to have it farther forward. and its just behind the flash hider so it gets no blast residue on it. not a big deal if it does but its a nice bonus.
