Just took my CFSC and apparently Canada has about 0 fatal gun accidents per year...
If we combined American lack of gun regulation with Canadian gun education but implemented it into the public school system then we could have a society of 30 million people who can safely open carry thus reducing criminals due to the demotivation of everyone having a gun.

Canada could become the safest place on earth.

I went to school in a rural area. A couple times we had an RCMP officer explain proper firearms handling and safe storage.
Told stories about stuff he was called to like when a farmer tossed a loaded shotgun on the back seat of his truck. He hit a bump, shotgun fell off the seat and went off. Got an ass full of bird shot and all the springs that were in the seat.

Do they make reproduction Garands? Can you even get a Garand in /k/anada? Second question, I saw a TT-33 for dirt cheap, should I get it? Knowing that having a pistol can get you in shit, I'd rather have on in my collection then go without one
>>
>>32143363
There were post war Garands made, but nothing recent. Closest new production gun would be an M1A clone. Handguns are fun, not as much trouble as you think once you're set up with one and in a range.
>>
What are some /k/anadian YouTube channels? Can we get a compendium made up for future generations (future threads) and for science, plz?
>doesn't have to be "very good" in your opinion, just channels with Canada relevant content, reviews and discussion, and something that is current (not a dead channel with last video posted in 2009)

I'll start with the most recent ones I've seen:

Civil Advantage -- good overall info from a firearms enthusiast
Matt Capranos -- ok channel with a lot of info about specific firearms like T97, BRS99, etc.
Skallagrim -- he's mostly into medieval weapons now, but some firearm stuff and decent legal info in older videos (has some good videos to inform noguns and antis in a friendly non-threatening manner)
TV-PressPass -- good production/video quality channel, in love with Tavor, lots of info on that and other firearms
>>
>>32143916
Skallagrim is in Canada?
>>
>>32143916

Rybec from Canada is pretty good. He's also on /k/, and stops by here infrequently.

he was always more into that, he only started doing some stuff when he moved to canada and he is cringey as fuck, and also a furry

>>32144434
he moves from country to country every few years thinking his life with magically improve somehow, when the actual issue is that he's a pretentious autist
>>
>>32144466
He came to the last couple meets kek
>>
>>32144466
good guy, saw him in /k/anada threads, answered a bunch of questions about his setup, despite my shitposty manner of asking them.
didn't know he had a YouTube channel, that's neat!

>>32144562
eh, like I said, you don't have to like all of them, just trying to compile Canadian YouTube stuff with decent content. his approach is very friendly and engaging; videos on Canadian laws and perception of gun owners are pretty good and I converted an uninformed anti friend with those.

another example is TV-PressPass, a lot of people dislike him and call him a Tavor shill, but you can't deny that he makes a lot of decent content
>he even has videos where he's discussing feeding issues with his Tavor and trying to figure the problem out, so I wouldn't call him a total shill on that account
>>
>>32145354
Ive got a shitty channel that ive been meaning to make better vids for but just never go around to it, Canadian firearms and explosives review
>>
>>32145354
I totally disagree about skallagrim being good

He would completely piss people off and rub them the wrong way with his creepy nerd vibe

He made a video of him talking about alcohol like an edgy 12 year old for 20 minutes
>>
>>32140788
>>32140799

>do you actually have a channel though? would likefollowsubscribe

>>32145383
idk, I think his somewhat non-cencervative look and wackyness appeals to millennials/SJWs and in a subversive way makes it much easier to convert. like I said, old white guy in a trucker hat bitterly bitching about "fucken librulz!" has the opposite effect of what we it's trying to accomplish. while, his video actually worked in getting a TO libtard I know to change his mind on guns and gun owners

Polytechnique massacre anniversary.

The media makes a big deal about it every year, saying we need more gun control. The LPC has a majority government and they might just do it for "easy points".
>>
>>32149146
Nothing

Every year people freak out, and nothing ever happens (aniversary of ecole polytecnique )
>>
>>32149175
Haven't had a Liberal government in years, let alone a Liberal majority.
>>
>>32149202
Reminder that the last time a serious gun ban was announced by the LPC, the Liberals got their shit kicked in and we got Harper. Be vigilant, and we'll make it through this.
>>
>>32149257

You mean when the LPC had only 133/155 needed for a majority and that any of the opposition parties could topple the government?

Because that's not the same thing as our current situation at all. They could ban ALL guns, down to your .177 pneumatic plinking pistol and we wouldn't be able to do a damn thing about it until October 21st 2019.
>>
I'd like to think the LPC respects legal gun owners, but every time I do, they pull some shit that throws that out the window
>>
>>32149312
Don't let the anti's see you sweat, Anon. It's important to present an image of strength now more than ever.
>>
>>32149407

Putting your fingers in your ears and going "LA LA LA! THEY CAN'T BAN GUNS! LA LA LA!" isn't helping fucking anything.

If the truth of the matter makes you nervous, then get involved. Or at the very fucking least, just delude yourself, don't spread your naive belief they can't do anything to others.
>>
>>32149443
Where the fuck did I infer that? I said be vigilant, which most certainly includes engaging both politicians and regular people when the subject comes up. You need to stop panicking first, it's not going to help anybody.
>>
>>32149312
If they banned all guns they could do whatever they want, thered be no voting for change at that point, thats why you do your job as a law abiding citizen and fucking kick them out or kill them the second they try anything seriously detrimental to our way of life, they hate us literally just cause we dont live in the city and truely believe everyone should live by city "rules" or whatever and most have absolutely no clue just how dangerous it can be in the country, moose are dangerous as fuck, packs of coyotes exist within rural subdivisions, if you experience a break in youre on your own essentially, if you experience a medical emergency it can be extremely dangerous cause it takes alot longer for an ambulance to get to you, citycucks should not dictate how countrycucks live
>>
>>32143363
The garand is the only NR semi auto firearm that is permitted to hold over 5 rounds
>>
>>32149504

Taking away someone's means of protection and their property is a huge violation of multiple rights regardless of whether you live in the country or the middle of a big city.

Hell, if anything, the ability to carry a pistol would be more beneficial in a city than out in the boonies. You'd want a shotgun or a rifle for that.
>>
>>32149549
Yea pretty much, i believe ccw should be legal, but it should come with extra training and requirements, cause carrying a gun is easy, know when and how to use it a different thing and takes training, similar thing with full autos, they should be treated like restricted firearms but with more requirements, Czech gun laws are a good example
>>
>>32149546

"pistol" AR15 mags, they get marked for the LAR15 "pistol" that is just an SBR without a stock and can hold 10. Anything that shares a magazine well with the AR15 can use it, like the T97 or Tavor.
>>
>>32151704
That said, the very same loophole was used to fuck us out of Ruger 10/22 mags greater than 10 rounds*

My university hosts a Polytechnique memorial event each year about feminism and evil guns.

Why don't all feminists support guns? Guns make women more equal to men, compensating for their physical disadvantage.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from my understanding, the import of Vz 58's has stopped. If this is the case, how hard would it be to buy one secondhand, or from an online store.

Basically is there enough of them in Canada to stay relitively cheap, and available.
>>
>>32151770
This. Feminists don't like accountability of their actions. Having a gun takes all the accountability of murder in their eyes into their own hands, and they don't like that.

Its unpinned cause most people unpin there mags. I do, when you use and abuse mags they get dirty and damaged and to fix or clean them you must disassemble them, but in most cases the rivet prevents you from removing the spring and follower so it has to be temporarily removed for regular maintenance, ive had to unpin mags cause the rivet prevented the spring from going up causing feeding problems. Unacceptable when your paying anywhere between 70 to 400 a mag

>>32153327
bolt action or any manual action for that matter has no mag limit, 5 round limit refers to center fired semi auto
>>
>>32151728
True but it's supposed to be what the mags were "designed for" meaning it won't hold up in court.
>>
>>32153327
Rimfire and manual action rifles and shotguns are not limited in capacity. Handguns are limited to 10 rounds, and centerfire semi autos are limited to 5 with the exception of the M1 Garand.

I can't say for sure but I don't think they're done.

>>32156313

I don't use them much anymore because I like using the ten rounders in my 10/22 in my M1 Carbine stock, but I'm going to keep shooting in the woods with them. I hope that court challenge fucks them up, it's a stupid rule that's arbitrary and solves fuck all, I never see Ruger 10/22's in the pictures of busted criminal operations, most of the time they're AK's or sawed off shotguns. And surprise surprise we're not supposed to have AK's in this country, they're prohibited by name! Usual RCMP bullshit.

What purpose does the trigger guard spring have?

I went shooting before I moved, and stupidly didn't put it back together before I loaded up.

I went to put the magazine and trigger back on and I'm noticing it's gone, looked around everywhere I can think of and I don't know where it is.

Will the rifle shoot fine without it? Where should I look for replacements?

How much would you pay for a single-shot break-action .45-70 that folds into a <15" long package?

Shortest shotgun config is a M590A1 with a raptor grip, leaves you at 26.5" OAL 12g to keep you set camping against bears innawoods all day

What do you guys recommend I should get for my first shotgun? I've heard the Maverick 88 is a popular choice, but I've also heard some pretty bad things about it.
>>
>seriously considering buying another sks even though I don't have anywhere to shoot it
There are things about hongcouver I like, but I hate not being able to go shooting
>>
>>32188317
What do you want it for? Truck duck or natives?
>>
>>32188799
Fun mostly. Also, 12 guage is pretty cheap compared to the stuff I usually shoot.
>>
>>32188317
Maverick 88 goes bang. There isn't much pretty about it, it'll rattle, etc etc. But it will go bang.
>>
So I took my CFSC/CRFSC courses 6 weeks ago and I still haven't got the course reports. What info will they need when I call to bitch at them for fucking something up?
>>
>>32190370
You haven't got reports of whether you passed or your licence from the RCMP? Because the RCMP can take up to 6 months, and are often 3 months wait minimum.
>>
>>32190370
Call the instructor to ask, if he can't help you call the CFO for your province.

Anyone know when those Cabelas orders will ship out? I'm going to be out of my apartment in a couple weeks.

Funny thing is if someone manages to break into anyways, even if it take them days, youll still get charged with unsafe storage for having your guns stolen

Are silencers really outlawed because liberals think it makes it easier to "assassinate" people?
>>
>>32193236
Yes, it's also why our magazines are pinned and probably why "restricted" firearms and the whole ATT stuff exists
>>
>>32188317
The Maverick 88 is a good choice in my opinion, I have one. I've probably fired over 400 rounds or so through it, and I've never had a jam or FTF. The only problem I ever had with it was it had light primer strikes that didn't set off that Russian Dominion 00 Buck, and I think the reason for that is the way they crimp the ends of the shells, they just didn't work great in my particular gun. But Remington Sluggers, Winchester Game Loads, and Federal 00 Buck work flawlessly without a single malfunction. I've found it's quite a durable and reliable shotgun, it never fails me.

>>32183860
There are a lot of choices for good short shotguns in Canada. I just recently picked up an Asil Bulldog, a Turkish shotgun, that has a 17.5'' barrel with a fibre optic front sight, spring assist pump, and a top folding stock. Really neat gun for cheap with a folding stock that's actually comfortable to use, it has a flat portion for your face that actually feels really good even shooting slugs and 00 Buck.

Another neat short shotgun that's unique is the Norinco 1887 shotgun, if you want it really short you can get the pistol gripped version, and you can get 7 shells in there. Really neat, a little awkward to operate with the pistol grip but it's not too bad.

The other suggestions posted are probably the best short options but these are some additional ones.

Amigad my PAL came today! Nobody warned me about this stupid little pretty much blank "conditions" document that I also can't lose. How hard is it to get another copy of it if I accidentally wash my wallet?

https://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2016/12/01/women-should-be-allowed-to-pepper-spray-and-mace-attackers-leitch-says.html

Is it time?

Will she bring conceal carry to Canada?

>conceal carry can protect women from rape and murder
>if you oppose conceal carry you are basically saying women should be at the mercy of men to be raped

Make liberals fall for their own tricks.
>>
>>32195342

It's going to be gradual, for sure. Pepper spray and stun guns are a good place to start.

Russia has a lot of "trauma" pistols that shoot rubber balls.

>>32195334
Now what you'll want to do is intentionally lose your wallet, so you don't spend all your money on guns.
>>
>>32195477
Hah. I probably won't be purchasing any until spring anyway, since there doesn't look to be much in the way of shooting in the winter here.

Maybe if some kind of deal pops up around boxing day I might partake. Since I got my license just on time to miss the SKS deal at Cabelas :\
>>
>>32195498
There usually are deals. You could also start to look around local stores, and figure where ranges and crown land to shoot at are.
>>
>>32195535
Yeah, I'm in Manitoba. So there's an endless supply of crown land. I just need to print up a million land allocation maps and go over them with crayons or something. Also I think some of the provincial parks allow firearm discharge if you are at least 300 meters out from any rec. area.

Guys, guys, here's what we do.

We help get women pepper spray and mace... and then we help get them concealed carry... and then we take a case to the supreme court that men should be allowed to conceal carry as well because otherwise it's discrimination.
>>
>>32196449
Come on anon it's 2016 you can't discriminate against men!

Just say you're gay and scared of trump supporters crossing the border or something
>>
>>32196449
It's a good plan if you want to allow every one but white males to CC.
