email him how many of what you want.

Commiefornia is great, thanks. I love my gun restrictions and being classified as a felon for literally doing nothing wrong.

On a serious note, if any Calibros or lawfags could chip in.. Dec 31st is the declared last day to, "buy" any AR/AK type rifles.. but if my 10 day waiting period happened to go into 2017 do you think that'd be acceptable? I think I'll have enough time but my general anxiety disorder is going to drive me up the wall the next month and a half.

You pretty much listed the entire price range of off-the-shelf AK rifles.

Century rifles aren't very good. They get all the superficial stuff right but there's no substitute for good parts and quality steel. An ignorant person would probably consider a C39 a top of the line AK actually, just because superficially they are nice.
>>
>>31990769

Any chance I can mount pic related on my Pap M92? I'm thinking of using the stormwerkz dust cover rail, I'm just concerned that the optic may be too long. I just want an optic that will go well with the early 80s aesthetic I'm trying to go for. Bakelite and a triangle side folder (once I get a stamp) are also part of my plan.

Weaver fits on m1919, but it doesn't work the other way around apparently. I would go for the side rail version, but the Pap m92 doesn't have one and I suspect the location of the rear sight would prevent one from mounting an opting properly even if I did install a side rail.

If any of you are interested in plum or bake 5.45 mags, I am still going to be doing a group buy. For those who would ask, I am located inside of the US and have contacts in russia who can get them to me. My email is rusmaganon(at)gmail
I know there is VAFag who does group buys as well. The prices would roughly be $27 per mag and you can order as many as you want. I am also able to get steel RPK 7.62 mags for the same cost. Not sure how many my contact has, but I can ask.

>>31991158

>>
>>31991021

Yes, I'm not the only one either, theres a certain ivan in russia who will give you wholesale price if you buy 100 mags, his price is $3 for plums, $5 for bakelites, and $15 for true black, all 5.45 mags of course.

I'm not the only one either, there was a guy in the akfiles marketplace who had like 200 mags he was selling, he had pics of them all piled up, he told me about the guy, after paying him a small fee of course.
>>
>>31991158

why buy from you for $27, when we can just go directly from the people mag resellers buy from and buy them ourselves?
>>
>>31991173
Not disputing $3 bakes, that's a fact.

Like-new yugo though? Here's what i've been offered for yugos in the last year:

1. 20k mags, like new. ~$5/ea
2. 50k mags, like new ~$9/ea
3. 6k mags, used ~$9/ea
4. 20k mags,a few years old new production $20/ea

Any sort of bulk gets sucked into the middle east. It can sometimes be cheaper to buy onsie twosie mags than it is for significant quantities. Also, no import fees or tarrifs on gun parts.

>Different trip than the other RusMag fag

Why the yugo mags though, a lot of people hate them because of the BHO which is useless, unless you plan to sell for the price the usual Euro style mags go for, then game on.

wew.. is that normal or just atlanticfirearms trying to jew?

>>31991549
Not him, but you need to understand that the fact that it comes from a low-profile builder makes it questionable. Nothing about the picture or description is problematic in and of itself, but you have no idea what the quality of the build will be until it's in your hands.

If I buy a US built AK, I would want to inspect in person or at the very least buy from a well-known builder or custom shop.
>>
>>31991640

pretty close to normal. check akfiles and gunbroker to find them a bit cheaper.
>>
>>31991651

I own a Definitive Arms DAKM 4150, which is very similar to the rifle in question feature-wise, but from a well known shop.

4150 Nitride is the best that US AK barrels get. It will be a little more accurate than a CL CHF barrel and have a somewhat shorter service life.

Morrissey and Nodak Spud are more or less the same thing and are both fine.

Polish AKMs were not consistent at all, you see park, paint, carriers sometimes finished and sometimes left in the white. So it's fine in this regard.

The bolt carrier is listed as "polished" which probably means left in the white.

There's no way to know if the price is right until you're holding the rifle in your hands and can examine it.
>>
>>31991770
Atlantic also has some nice saigas in stock
>>
>>31991757
I'm not saying you should look at the C39, I'm saying it's superficially a good rifle but actually poorly built.

>>31991761
I might be telling you that oddly enough
>>
>>31991770
Wait a few months if you're chasing a Russian 5.45. There's a chance Trump could open up Saiga imports again. While the VEPRs are good, they use different furniture than standard AKs, if memory serves.
>>
>>31991770
>$1000
>Proprietary RPK furniture
>No bayo lug
>No accessory lug

Just buy a normal VEPR for $200 less and convert it yourself, or save an extra $200 and buy an SLR104 for the best 5.45 rifle on the market. If you REALLY want a Russian 5.45 rifle then find and convert a Saiga or find an SGL.

>>31991774
The difference being though is that Definitive Arms has a known track record of putting out good stuff.

Are you carrying 30 loaded mags in the back of your moms subaru to go shoot at old washing machines in a field? What the fuck does weight have to do with anything. Bakelite is shit. It was shit in the 1950s and it didn't get any better.

Keep being proud of your "different" magazines.

So I've got $100 to throw at some AK stuff. Should I get the PGO-7V that I'm almost certain will go on sale for Black Friday at Russian Surplus, or buy a couple of NOS 5.45 plums from AIM? Currently leaning towards the PGO-7V since any sale will be like 10% off and $15 isn't all that much to pay to ensure I get one at all.

New PGO-7V3 owner here

It's different and fun, but not practical for anything except slow paced long range shooting and turning heads at the range. Cheekweld is nonexistent. Looks great on my SLR wannabe afghanistan-era AKS-74N.

That last one could sell out at any time, keep that in mind.

So I fired an AK for the first time this weekend, a friend's WASR. Also first time shooting 7.62x39. Had a fucking blast with it, huge grin on my face the whole time I was shooting it. My AR just doesn't compare honestly, so I've decided to sell it to fund an AK.

Where should I start looking? I have a budget of $800-900 and I'm not looking for any accessories or optics, just a stock AKM and a sling.

This has some 7.62 mags but no details as far as rarity vs commonality.
They're mostly rare mags though, as these are from serious collections.

http://www.hk94.com/hk/topic/25203-rare-ak-47-and-ak-74-mags/

There are hundreds of varieties of 7.62x39 mags out there.
The only real way to know is to learn what's what.

C39 itsnt top shelf, but I really cant complain about mine either.

I think they worked pretty hard on them to try to break the "century only makes cheap rattle trap parts kit guns" reputation and did a pretty fine job.

Obviously its not a vepr or an arsenal, but its still a decent gun.

/k/ seems to have this idea that if it isnt the top shelf ultra delux model with cup holders and a built in dvd player then its shit.

C39 definitely isnt a top shelf primo AK, but it also aint a shitty gun by any means. Most assuredly not a parts kit rebuild like century used to make either.

TULA seems to run fine through my AK (lets be honest, just about anything is going to run fine through an AK) and its dirt cheap too.

Most people bitch that the old ammo is corrosive or fouls a lot, but that really doesnt mean anything as long as you clean your rifle after each range trip, which you should be doing anyways.

Tula is mighty fine plinking ammo and its cheap to strockpile too. You can even get it in nice sealed tins of 650 a pop with russian lettering and an oversized can opener which really tickles my willy to look at all stacked up on my shelf.

Like I said though, there's no substitute for parts construction. The finish on them is quite nice, and overall they feel like solid guns. Will filing the locking lugs of mags so they fit in my saiga fuck up their fitment in other guns? I don't have to file much, but I thought I would ask first.
>>
>>31997442
file the saiga if you are worried about that
>>
>>31997442
The rear lug on Saiga sporter mags is thinner than what's normal. The gap between the mag catch and receiver is sometimes smaller because of this. Filing the mag catch itself might be what's needed.

Are you the AK guy that goes to the range right outside of Bellefontaine?
Rn I'm beginning to prep for an AK purchase. Still have some savings to do and waiting for the panic to die down so it'll be a bit.
Just wondering what sort of recommendations you have of aks to get or where to get them. The patriots attic in huntsville has a whole rack of them at what seems like reasonable prices. Have you been there?
How do you get yours?
>>
>>31996759
First gen had issues with improperly treated bolts, but mine is a newer 2nd gen and its not having any problems.
>>31996792
I've ran about 3,000 rounds through mine without issue.

I do agree though, new shit is always iffy, and there ARE deficiencies with it.

For instance they built the fuckin thing with a really wierd double tang that doesnt allow you to install aftermarket stocks and pistol grips, even the ones designed for double tang dont fit it.

Need advice. I have 2 guys who want to trade for my hk93 clone/the original c93. One wants to trade a wasr10/63 and 7 mags. Other has a contractor used wasr or a ddi 74. Problem is I already have 7 aks. 3 of them Romanian and 2- 74s...what would you bros do.
>>
>>31997885
I'd just hang on to the HK clones. WASRs are slipping in price slightly already due to the election, and as you said you've already got a bunch of AKs.
>>
>>31997885
I'd keep the c93 myself.
Seems like you have a decent diversity of AKs, and unless it was some odd variant that you just had to have, I'd just keep the c93.
>>
>>31997885
What's the rpk at the bottom?
>>
>>31997885
Keep it, C93 is better than a WASR

I didn't buy mine from that seller, mine came from a guy in Russia, but that seller is good to go as well.

Sad that this is the absolute best picture he could find of them in action
>>
>>31998570
The button is spring loaded, it's impossible to get the top cover off without depressing the button. It's for AKs with mounted grenade launchers and AK shotguns, which have more recoil, which can jostle the gun and make the top cover pop off inadvertently. But I think they're pretty much standard now, grenade launcher or no.

Yep, that's me. I've never been to the patriot's attic, so I don't know what they have or for what price. I've bought three AKs face-to-face organized over Armslist, and three others from various online vendors (mishaco, Atlantic).

I would advise you the same thing as anyone else: Get a 7.62 AK first, avoid the RAS47 and avoid anything by IO.

How is it doing face to face deals? Little nervous to do one for fear of turning into someone's little white Boi.
Might ask to do the deal in a sherrif's or police dept parking lot.
