https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmYIerz48KM
I want to get one, the price is great but that 8000round barrel life? Damn. Does it means it's 100% busted after 8k or it will start to degrade at this point? Is there a place that sells replacement barrels?

Handled one a gun show. It actually seemed alright.

Kel-Tec handguns have a 6000 round guaranteed barrel life, if that helps give perspective.

They need to give you notice to come inspect your house, unless of course you're involved in some sort of criminal activity.

>Half of /k/ is having dinner with their sks's in dresses right now.

I chuckled.

It's a good gun, especially a first gun. It's cheap and cheap to shoot, and it's accurate enough. It's not a sniper rifle but you can hit whatever you're aiming for at 100yds.

>>
>>31990967
Let's be honest here.

It is bad.

But it's fucking cheap, the ammo is cheap, and you can get it with a non-restricted and it's fun as fuck.
>>
>>31991165
Its not bad though, if your half decent with it you can pull 2-2.5 at 300m, with the front sight 1.5in above center of bore, and irons set to 300 you should be able to make any shot, for example at 100m youd be hitting about 20cm high, so if your aiming at a 40cm target you aim at the bottom and youll hit center, my sks has a grade 1 bore so thats probably why mines so accurate when i actually take time to aim and shoot instead of clipdumping

Yea and they dont do that, Lockhart says these are for professional use, real flashbangs dont use a bear banger with ~0.8 grams of flash powder, they use anywhere from 4.6 to 8 grams of flashpowder with magnesium, and should temporarily blind you for ~5 seconds, not make you jump.

I'm talking about participating in a riot, IE one that wants the sandniggers shipped back. >>31997893
Do you have a tunnel big enough to hide a truck?
>>
>>31999214

Iodine is used in the production of thyroid hormones and a deficiency can absolutely cause hypothyroidism, though that isn't the only cause of an underactive thyroid.

The amount of fluoride in an area's drinking water correlates with the rate of hypothyroidism within the population of that area. However, any attempts to study the effects of fluoride on thyroid health are immediately attacked as being the result of kooky conspiracy theories.

Consider the effects of hypothyroidism for a moment:

>Fatigue
>Poor memory and concentration
>Weight gain
>Shortness of breath
>Carpal tunnel syndrome

Among other things. These are all things that make you less capable of noticing or resisting gradual encroachment of liberties while also making you a cash-cow for pharmaceutical companies who sell levothyroxine (Synthroid), one of the most prescribed medications in the US.
>>
>>31999356
I gotta work with what he have published studies for. I can't say I particularly trust fluoride in the water, we get more than enough for dental health from tooth paste, but I'm not going off on unscientific claims.
>>
>>31999356
>isn't the only POTENTIAL* cause of an underactive thyroid.
>>
>>31999372

If the science behind it was actually important to people, then there wouldn't be so much resistance to actually studying it.
>>
>>31999390
I'm very open to studying it, there shouldn't be any limits to what's being studied based on political or sociological issues. The only time it should be stopped is when it causes unreasonable harm to participants.
>>
So I was looking at gun laws again, trying to find out what things are banned by name alone, and I came across this:

PART 5
Prohibited Ammunition

3 Any projectile that is designed, manufactured or altered so as to explode on impact, where the projectile is designed for use in or in conjunction with a cartridge and does not exceed 15 mm in diameter.

I remember when I did the CFSC that they told us explosive rounds were all prohibited, but this says otherwise. Anyone know any more about it?

Dude, I jabbed the bayo into the moist dirt, went prone, and was able to cut lines into my target paper at 100yards with my SKS.

Now I'm getting it a 4x scope, a bipod (bayo goes into the dresser), a two inch butt pad, and muzzle brake.

I'm going to make a happy face on the freshly painted metal gong once it's all dialed in at 200+ yards.

Open carry is mostly used by hunters who are walking along a road with their rifle.

not really, but you could be shot because of someone freaking out and telling the cops there's an active shooter. besides that, the cops tend to hit people with "disturbing the peace" if they walk around with something that scares people. also possession of a weapon for purposes dangerous to the public. 2 bogus charges that judges arbitrarily convict for

my uncle was walking along the main drag of edmonton with a shotgun balanced on his shoulder the exact moment JFK was shot. cops didn't get called because back then nobody was worried. we live in what's called a "low trust" society and the cause should be obvious.

Eastern Ontario Shooting Club is in the north section of larose forest, the eastern part of the "no discharge" zone. they're big on competitive shooting. $300 i think.

Eganville & District Shooting Club is in Renfrew, roughly an hour fifteen away from Ottawa proper. $100 a year if you put in 10 hours of volunteer work, otherwise 200. OPP wanted to train here a couple years back, but they insisted that everyone else be barred from the range so that nobody could see their ninja tactics. OPP was told to fuck off.

Stittsville is expensive as fuck, like 700 a year. They have homo rangemasters that insist on touching your cock through you pants before you fire every round. I've never heard of anyone buying a membership, just paying the $25 guest pass each time.

RA center is for babby rifle or handgun. I've heard they don't allow magnum pistol calibers. roughly 400 a year but it's indoors and close by so you're likely to use it. downside is that it's crowded as fuck. shooting during the day isn't allowed unless you're a volunteer range officer.

there's a cop range at algonquin college. I've been trying to get in even for a visit but I don't know any cops. there's probably another cop range somewhere else but idk.

there are a few groups that have shoots at a host range every couple months. Carleton has a gun club, for example.

fuck the mandatory safety course for every range. everyone who's allowed to own guns has already taken a mandatory safety course. I literally never did a range safety course.

>there would be millions of people rallying in the street supporting the army

There most certainly would not be millions rally to inadvertently support the death of police officers. Particularly since the police officers in high river were following orders from their administration the exact same way that the army was following orders from their chain of command. The only difference was the RCMP administration were being fucking retarded.

>only the RCMP are free to steal and kill without consequence.

Is that why it is federal law for a Serious Incident Response Team or an equivalent to be present in each province? These teams are run by civilian employees and are completely independent of the police administration and are responsible for investigating every serious incident involving a police officer. They have to determine if the police officer acted in congruence with the Police Services Act of that province. This isn't the 1960s anymore friendo.

>the RCMP is literally a military unit acting as cops

The RCMP may have started as a Dragoon regiment, but besides their paramilitary styled basic training, as well as their international deployments, that hyperbole pretty much ends there.

>natives hate the RCs, gun owners hate RCs.

Natives don't like any Canadian government affiliated organization least of all the military.

>provincial police is how this country was meant to operate.

There is nothing stopping each province from creating their own provincial police force, except oh ya, the cost. The RCMP are responsible for providing policing services to remote areas that do not have the funding or the infrastructure to operate a province wide police service. They often are given this contract at a significant loss that is made up for by federal taxes. You seem to be under the impression that the RCMP is muscling their way into the provinces. This is simply incorrect and if a province wanted them out, and could afford it, they would be out.

nice deconstruction. I actually kind of like it that the RCMP is a gendarme organization. it's not a hyperbole, it's completely true. they are military. they act like cops though, I won't fight you there.

the thing is that the provinces can't afford it due to the deep discount. it's essentially buying control of the provinces.

Showing anger or wishing ill will upon street level officers because of a shitty administration is the equivalent of yelling at a cashier because the store doesn't have your item in stock.

>>
>>32001748
I don't wish ill upon the street officers. I know some RCMP and they're OK guys. However, they chose to be part of an organization that sometimes does the wrong thing and if they get hurt breaking the law I won't be very bothered. If they get hurt carrying out lawful and righteous duties that's another case altogether.
>>
>>32001748
Problem with your analogy is the cashier was smashing my car window in while stealing my change in plain site. If street level officers want to do dodgy shit just because their superiors said it was ok don't be surprised when that blows up in their face. That the army was pissed enough about this violation of private property to consider the risk of an armed confrontation gives me a warm feeling deep down inside. At least somebody in this statist, collectivist clusterfuck non-nation actually gives a fuck about the common citizen.

> If street level officers want to do dodgy shit just because their superiors said it was ok don't be surprised when that blows up in their face.

High River didn't happen because the police "want to do dodgy shit" and the administration said it was "ok". It happened because the administration gave them orders that they were expected to follow. It's funny that the RCMP have been stated to be absolutely a "military organization", but then you act as if they are their own bosses. Are you so naive to think that if the Canadian Army's chain of command gave the order to not intervene with the RCMP, that the soldiers would violate those orders on "moral and ethical grounds"?

As for my analogy, you purposely missed the point of my statement. You are getting angry at the individuals who have little to no control over what is happening. They are a cog in a machine. If they outright refused to do the job, their administration would call in people who would, they would be punished and the exact same result would occur. By acting the way that you are, you are not effecting any change whatsoever. It's the administration's responsibility to ensure that all officers are acting in compliance with policy and that orders given are ethical and legal.

>Its well known every single cop out there right now is in it for the pension and nothing else. Once upon a time the mounties actually gave a fuck. Those days are gone.

Generalizing tens of thousands of people into a single motivation makes you look like an uneducated dumb fuck.
>>

I fully comply because I worry that something will happen to my house and they will be discovered in a fire or something.

However, there are many ways to comply with storage regulations for non-restricted guns, and earlier this year a bump-in-the-night changed how I do things. I used to have everything stored away with locks through all the actions but when a couple of guys tried to kick down my door late at night it took way longer then I thought it would to get them up and running. Now I have my go-to shotgun locked in a metal tool chest next to my bed, I just unlock the lid and everything is right there to load and shoot.

Seriously though I actually do want to know people in the area that I can shoot with, and areas I can shoot at. The only time I ever go shooting is when I visit my GF, and even then it's limited, since I'm relying on her goodwill and her parents connections in the area for land to shoot on.

Not him, but I feel the same way. It's what got me into guns and shooting in the first place

You have no idea. They're a major part of the reason I was actually able to overcome depression that had been crippling me for years. I have self harm scars because I would actually start to lose touch with reality, and pain was the easiest way to get back in touch with it, but I haven't had any issues since I started shooting. I will actually do everything possible to defend what little rights we have to shoot guns in this country as a result.

So, what would happen if someone hypothetically got ahold of a lathe and started selling undrilled baffles sized to standard hardware store pipe diameters?
>>
>>32004813
His watchlist priority would probably be raised.
>>
>>32004813
Absolutely nothing until they're assembled and are able to be attached to a firearm. As long as you don't accidentally the baffles in the pipe and accidentally thread an endcap and accidentally a .300BLK AR, you should be fine.

I know it's basically an anti-gun meme at this point but I wonder if part of that emotional benefit comes from the feeling of power, or control. And the physicality of a big noisy fun-machine that puts holes in things. Whatever it is, I know exactly what you're both talking about. Shooting is a real joy.
>>
>>32004827
Probably, but I don't see any solid legal risk to the producer. After all, 80% lowers are not considered registerable firearms, and they're a hell of a lot more "complete" than a handful of things that look like baffles but don't even have the bore drilled out.
>>
>>32004832
It isn't power, at least not over others. A small part of it is knowing that I'm actually able to defend myself, but the larger part of it is that it's something that I can relax and enjoy on my own time, at my own pace. It's something I don't need to have large teams for, it's something I can choose to spend money as I decide. It's something I can enjoy, and it's something I can use to improve myself. I've actually become generally happier and more patient with people because of it. It's made me an all around better person.

Exactly how I feel. There is no hobby I have that is more relaxing than target shooting. None.
Challenging yourself to get closer to the center of that target or get tighter groups is such a rewarding feeling when you do it.

Then of course there's the "I'm not buying my rifle for self defense but I sure as fuck am grabbing it if someone breaks into my house" thing.
I have a wife. She is extremely important to me. While I believe 'professionals' trained to react to scenarios are more prepared, I trust my life and more importantly my wife's life with myself over others. There will never be a day when I let someone hurt my wife.

I fucking love target shooting though.

Two questions. I am shortly getting my PAL and RPAL. After my courses and application fee what other costs besides a photo am I looking at to purchase a handgun.

Second, I want to purchase a c96 broomhandle. Preferably in a 9mm. I'm gay for this gun. What kind of price am I looking at? Are reproductions still made.
>>
>>32007222
We're still waiting on that newly submitted SCAR-17 and that Not!AR-10, but those could be a while.
>>
>>32007400

You'll need storage. A $100 stack-on cabinet meets the minimum requirements, though they sell smaller lock boxes that you could put a handgun into.

As for the C96, they are very old handguns and 9x19 is not the standard chambering for them. You're looking at thousands for anything even remotely in firing condition and, even then I'd be wary of shooting it, both for fear of damaging an old and valuable firearm and for damaging my face with the bolt flying into it if anything goes wrong.

According to the blue book, a 100% "Red-9" with adjustable sights goes for $3500. Fixed sight $1750, but that's a 3.9" barrel, so those would be prohibited here. Prices in USD and may vary in Canada.

And you actually have to be disturbing the peace and displaying suspicious activity, if you carry youre normally and not like an autist with a gun people wont even notice you, youll get looks and stuff but generally if your not doing anything suspicious or acting strange people will keep to themselves, now if your walking around with your hand on the holster and obviously looking for trouble then yea youll get fucked, so dont open carry into the ghetto and expect to get away with self defense when you get jumped

you may find out that the ranges available are shitty, have rules that won't work for what you want to do, are too expensive, too crowded, etc

if that's the case you may want to go for non restricted guns you can shoot innawoods

i personally think it's a great idea to get a 22 pistol for practice on the cheap, but also grab a 9mm, or whatever other preferred caliber

Yes. I've seen two privately-owned APCs here in Edmonton, but it was a while back and I don't know what they were. One was kind of small, almost like a tankette.

You would have to figure out which government department to contact with regards to importing them, and also how to make them road-legal and registerable (for instance, steel tracks are usually not permitted on roads so you'd have to get rubber ones or whatever) because fuck being limited to the farm when you can pick up some burgers at the drive-thru in a fucking APC.

My dream is to get pic related, that way I won't need to get a boat.

CNC doesn't specify what kind of machine it is, just how it's controlled. CNC laser cutters, plasma cutters, water jet cutters, punch presses, wire/tube/sheet metal benders, routers, mills, lathes, grinders, EDM, welders, all the different kinds of 3D printers... All CNC.

Even if you tell me you just want to cut sheet metal, that's not specific enough. Laser cutters are fantastic for steel, but aren't great for aluminum, since aluminum will reflect a lot more of it and the aluminum oxide layer that immediately forms on the surface also requires more energy to cut through.

I'll tell you to avoid SMTCL. The prices seem nice, but they're actually shutting down the Canadian office, so you'll have to get people from the US to come service them, at best. My school had to routinely get guys from China to fly over and attempt to fix their 5 axis... I will say that the lathe of theirs I used was pretty nice, but it was also fucking tiny and kinda worked backwards from the industry standards. Oh well.

Regardless, I'd suggest going with FANUC controllers. They're generally regarded as being the most user-friendly.

Tear off the excess and stick it on that area between your testicles and your anus.

Quickly count to three, and tear it off as fast as you can. Count the number of hairs you've managed to rip off, and divide by the number of teardrops that streamed from your eyes.

If you get an odd number, eat the hairs.
If you get an even number, unwrap the sticker that's currently on your dick, and eat THAT.
