It broke in disassembly because it was literally spot welded to the bottom of the bullet holder thing. all it was or is (is) a small piece of metal painted black it is say 1 inch long, and is a bit thicker than a pencil lead. Can I just use some metal glue and stick it back in? I was reading around and saw something mentioning that it should be permanently altered to no longer be capable of holding 5+ rounds, glue is permanent right?

how do I put a non standard bolt in it, can I find sks magazines anywhere in canada that isnt that tapco shit, would my local gunstore have any spare magazines?
>>
>>31955199
You drill a hol in the bottom and put a nut and bolt in, its very difficult to remove or put in cause you need a wrench and screwdriver and the mag needs to be in a vice
>>
>>31955220
will this fuck the magazine so that it may never go back to 10 rounds? also, how long should the bolt be so I dont over or under do it.
should i just get another magazine to save myself the time?

if i take the gas piston out of my gas tube it will not cycle the action, thus making it not a semi automatic rifle, but rather a bolt action that I have to feed manually still allowing me to hold 10 rounds in it.
>>
>>31950981
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Johnson_(criminal)
>>
>>31955237
No you can take it out its just difficult and requires a bunch of tools, another mag would help. And no its still a semi auto to the rcmp
>>
>>31955237
the magazine is still designed for a semi-auto, thus must be capped at 5
>>
>>31955245

I've been out of the loop for a year and a half, someone at work today was talking about hunting and mentioned something about requiring a new license to purchase ammo. I told him he only needed a PAL to purchase ammo and he said no you need a different license now. I didn't feel like arguing with him. I thought I'd come and inform myself of any changes in the last year.

tl;dr Was there any changes in the Canadian firearms laws in the last year?
>>
>>31955654
You just need a PAL to purchase ammo, and if shit hasn't completely changed, you can buy ANY ammo on a PAL. Including dedicated handgun rounds and such.

Fucking christ, I can't import anything either.

Good news thought, the Mauser is coming soonâ„¢
>>
>>31957700
Ouch man, don't you have any surplus? I bought an 880 round crate of the stuff for 300 CAD. Also, looking forward to pics of the mauser.
>>
>>31957804
Nope, since I can't import anything, I can't get surplus either.
Since only a few people in Norway owns a Mosin Nagant, the ammunition is pretty scarce.

880 rounds for $300 CAD? Jesus christ.
The absolute cheapest I can get an substantial amount of rounds (1000) is $650 CAD and that's only if i order exactly 1000 rounds. (Package deal or something)
And that's basically all the rounds the provider can give me before he runs out.
>>
>>31957833
That's not bad if that's new production stuff. The crate I purchased is corrosive Chinese surplus, so it's pretty dirty and I need to clean every time I go shooting.
>>
>>31957859
Well it's Barnaul 185 grain FMJ rounds, so I assume it's new production stuff.

>I need to clean every time I go shooting.
You don't do it every time? It's pretty much standard to clean your gun after each "shooting session" here.
>>
>>31957873
Yeah Barnaul is new production, so that's a fairly reasonable price. As for cleaning every time, it's not really necessary for new production ammo, I know a ton of hunters around here that rarely clean their guns, if at all. New production ammo doesn't really cause massive rust issues like the corrosive stuff does, so it's not really important as important. That being said I clean my guns every time because I like cleaning my guns.
>>
>>31957897
Thanks.
Man, if you were to go to my local shooting range and NOT clean your gun before you went home, you would get a lot of mean looks.
People in the local gun community is almost religious when it comes to cleaning guns.

But yeah, I agree that cleaning guns is comfy.
>>
>>31957913
It's an important part of taking care of your belongings as well. I like to sit down and relax with some music, a beer, and just clean everything properly. It's super relaxing.
>>
>>31957924
Indeed, fully agree on that.

My grand-father has vocalized is wish to give me is old 12 gauge so i am looking for a simple rifle for dear hunting or going to the range (i have the hunter card deliver by the natural resources and fauna minister but no firearm permit)
>>
>>31957948
If you already have your PAL, I would recommend either an SKS for semi automatic, cheap, and short range shooting/hunting. Otherwise a Savage Axis would probably be a cheap bolt action, .270 for cheap medium distance hunting or .308 for medium-long distance hunting, and more ammo availability.

>Is home brewing difficult?

It's as simple or as complex as you want to make it actually. You can just buy yourself a beer or wine kit from a homebrew store to get you started and just use the canned refills from then on and still make great stuff out of it. As you get more experienced, you can actually use actual grains and mash your own stuff from scratch if you want to take it that far.

I actually got into it by making a simple batch of mead based on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYFv-KJfQdM

After it turned out surprisingly decent, it occurred to me that I could probably make all kinds of booze and started doing research, which basically turned into an addiction.

If you want to get started yourself, check out this Canadian homebrewer's channel:

So has the new leader for the conservatives been decided on yet, what's their stance on gun laws?
>>
>>31962183
guns fucken errywhere bud. statistics don't know the half of it

there are something like 2 million licensed gun owners in Canada, and my guess is 7 million gun owners total.

tons of people flat out disobey the law: AKs, full-auto guns, pocket pistols, unpinned magazines. they're otherwise not criminals, they just feel like the risk is low.

there are also a lot of full-time criminal asians, africans and arabs that own guns in the cities. there are many ways for guns to come across, one of which includes a native reserve that spans the border. every 5 years someone brings in a fuckload of guns, useless niggers shoot each other a bunch of times and then the cops roll out to take all the guns and put people in prison. repeat.
>>
>>31963037
No new leader yet, some decent choices, Kelly lietch or Maxine bernier would be the best choice. The conservatives updated their charter at the last convention and it now includes guns as a Canadian heritage, some other minor things too.
>>
>>31963037

canada was literally founded as a white supremacist state, a "white dominion". same story for australia, newfoundland, new zealand, south africa, etc.

early canadians drank a lot, we didn't have the puritan streak the americans did. there's the apocryphal story of John A. MacDonald vomiting in parliament and blaming it not on the whiskey, but the inane ramblings of his opponent. This is the kind of Canada I want for my children.

I shouldn't need to explain that homosexuality was not "normal" or celebrated at all times in our history. considering the strong correlation between child sexual abuse and homosexuality, I don't think it makes sense to celebrate it.

This is why conservatives don't 'get it' when it doesn't work when they try to be progressive.

Because everyone sees right through the bullshit.

It's like when people go on about why don't the gays support the GOP? They want to 'protect' them from radical muslims who want to kill them for no good reason, and can't understand why the gays are against that... they can't understand why the gays, who've been oppressed by them, might not jump at the idea to help those same people oppress another group? Seriously no one picks up on this?

So it's no surprise that most people see the fig leaf for what it is, when you guys try to do something like this. It also doesn't help that all the women they front (in the US) are mostly Palin and Bachmann levels of insane.

We have right wing options and they are, heh, "rightly" relegated to '3rd party' status behind the NDP and even the fucking Greens.

You /pol/-tier faggots that have been flooding in here for the last several months need to at least get with reality if you're going to discuss shit here and not turn /k/anada threads into the farce that you turn others into. This is further proof that you fuckers. Just. Don't. Get it.

Brian Mulrooney tanked the Conservative party in that election, Cambell was just the one left holding the bag. Same with what's-his-name who came after Chretien. Dissatisfaction with the way the Liberals were running things, as well as the scandals around them, were what brought them down. And it's what brought the Tories down before them.

i pretty much made that up. I suppose I was mixing up events in my head or just trying (poorly) to be inflammatory.

italian immigration in 1971 was 731,000 persons. oddly, in 2001 the italian population of Canada was said to be 726,275. obviously some wops are lying or misinformed about their blood, because italian immigration has never been zero since 1971

in 1972 the laws were changed to favour non-european immigrants, and the first referendum was in 1980

everybody says that "quebec has control over who immigrates there" but I can't find how that system works or when it started.

wikipedia does have the following:
>Citizenship Court judges from across Canada were sent into the province to ensure as many qualified immigrants living in Quebec as possible had Canadian citizenship before the referendum, and thus were able to vote. The goal was to have 10,000 to 20,000 outstanding citizenship applications processed for residents of Quebec by mid-October.[131] 43,855 new Quebecers obtained their Canadian citizenship during 1995, with about one quarter of these (11,429) were granted their citizenship during the month of October.[132] When confronted about the issue by a Bloc Québécois MP who suggested shortcuts were being taken to hurry citizenship applications for immigrants who would most likely vote "No", Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Sergio Marchi responded that this was common before provincial election campaigns in other provinces.[133]

likely only a handful of these people were italian

either call up the head office or your local MP's office if they're conservative. Go to your riding association's next meeting and they'll give you the skinny on everything.

It isn't recognized. There's one state that will actually issue you a CCL, I forget which, but that license is recognized in 12 states or so. After that you'll need to buy a handgun second hand, or borrow an American friend's handgun.
>>31979910
If it isn't prohibited you might be able to get the RCMP to allow you to register and keep it.

RCMP loves registering guns. I know people who have registered handguns that had never been registered or had "disappeared". They won't breathe down your neck for it.

if the barrel is too short or it's a .32, don't register it because they're not handing out prohib licenses anymore. for some models of pistol you can buy a legal length barrel and just stash the illegal barrel somewhere, then register if you want to be above board

look at the racial problems in the USA. riots in the street for made up reasons. when we're 40% nonwhite we'll have the same problems
>>
>>31982484
Leitch was saying that 1 in 10 immigrants aren't handled by an actual immigration officer, and that current immigration screening isn't sufficient. it's a retarded points system that makes no sense. you get points for being an engineer or doctor in your home country but if you come from a nigger country your degree is worthless here, yet it still helps you get in to Canada.

if immigrants get screened for canadian values then why do we have islamic honour killings in canada?

I'm well aware of the issues involved with importing shitloads of shitskins. The problem is that the general populace isn't. Go ask anyone on the street how it turned out for whites in Rhodesia, or in South Africa, ask about the issues in Germany, or the Calais camp. Seriously, at best you'll get 1/10 even aware something happened, and most of those people will be apologists.
>>
>>31982598
which is why we need to clamp down on all immigration as a stop-gap measure. it's not racist if it the reduction doesn't discriminate based on race or national origin. racial policies and subsequently constitutional amendments can come about afterwards. I agree that there isn't a lot of support for the idea, everyone ages 6-60 has been drilled since birth that "immigration is good, diversity is strength!"

this is going to take some serious meming. in the mean time, I'll accept legalization of silencers, uncucking magazines and getting rid of the prohibited/restricted OICs.

>in the mean time, I'll accept legalization of silencers, uncucking magazines and getting rid of the prohibited/restricted OICs.
Maxime would probably be the best bet for that. As far as cutting down on immigration, we all need to get the word out about the issues it's causing Sweden and Germany, as well as wait for the US to show it's not actually a bad thing to have decent immigration control.

Question that isn't really Canada related, but...

Was at the range, after we were all done shooting, we started chatting, one of the guys there heard me mention that I have an AR, went to his car, and brought me a ziplock bag of .223 ammo. I guess a friend have it to him for since he was wanting to get an AR15, but he never got an AR and had no use for the .223... Anyways, I took a look at it, but can't quite figure out it's origin. All the headstamp has is "IK" and ".223REM", plus there's some red around the primer. I unfortunately don't have pictueres, and attempts to Google haven't gotten me anything. Anybody know what it might be?
