Question for you guys:

Just built a brand new AR-15, took it to the range yesterday and today for the first time. First round failure to fire even though it was seated in the chamber and it ejected when I pulled the charging handle back. Next round worked fine.
I get this about one in 6, which sucks ass. I am guessing that I need more lube on my BCG, I used some CLP maybe a week ago but then I took it out today and it looked completely dry. Any thoughts?
Only other thought I had was that I bought the gas block and gas tube from two different companies and I was worried they might not fit up that well.

Are you short-stroking? Did you assemble the bolt carrier group yourself?
The FTF could be a firing pin or trigger issue.
>>
Should I get a cheaper plano case or invest in a pelican?
>>
>>31976507
So what I meant was it actually DID eject properly when I manually cycled by pulling back the charging handle, but when it ejected it ejected a live round, not a spent round.
I feel that maybe the bolt isn't seated all the way forward or something, or the hammer isn't hitting the firing pin in the right place or hitting it hard enough.

>>
>>31976528
Oh...ok
>>
>>31976535
No the issue isn't short-stroking, it gets the next one in there properly, and when I squeeze the trigger I hear a click and the hammer is definitely hitting something, but it doesn't cause the primer to go off. I also couldn't see a dimple on the rounds that didn't fire, and when I put them back in the mag they fired fine.

They don't know what all they want and will modify their rifle as time goes on. How many parts have you changed out on your builds? How many parts has your son changed out? At least with a prebuilt they can play instead of pulling a GC and taking a year to complete a rifle.

It's not going to happen. If you knew how electoral college nominees worked you would do that. My father was a nominee for Harry Brown. Had Harry Brown received enough of the popular votes he would have been able to use his electoral college vote for the candidate of his choice. Which would have been Harry Brown because of how the party selected him to be the electoral college nominee.

They don't just go and find randos to do it. Each party hand picks their nominees in each state.

Let's start there.

I plan on letting my gear and my skills speak for me and show that I have put in the work to be placed in an honorable position, and work my way up so that I will soon be hailed as a hero by my fellow soldiers. I don't think milspec is better. That was the question I was asking in regard to reiabilty, which was a concern of mine. The differences in trigger geometry with the mbt, and the sheer amount of testing the milspec has had, brought about this concern. After a bit more searching, I couldn't find legit mbt failures, and i also found larue has tested the mbt past 120,000 trigger pulls. I feel better about saving for the mbt now, instead of the act.

Do you guys actually report people? And to whom? It just seems kind of odd that /arg/ would report people given that /arg/ kills cats and small animals and stuff

No too poor

I report people to the ATF and FBI all the time. You ever see some of the posters on here? They're real trouble.
>>
>>31976405
Does anyone know what shoes he is wearing?
>>
>>31978400
Kekeke, I hope you have a few good proxies, because you just got reported.
>>
>>31978407
Also I'm used to ~11 lb triggers, so I don't need to go that high end
>>
>>31978416
Get an AR Gold and get used to a 3lb trigger.
>>
>>31978430
I'd rather not, I don't want to go too light
>>
>>31976484
I sometimes have a similar issue with my new AR build. I'm thinking it's the hammer spring so I'm going to start with that.
>>
>>31978409
>>31978412

Does this mean I'll fail a background check? I'm actually kind of concerned. What do you even report people for? Why would you guys want to ruin someone's life like that?
>>
>>31978462
You'll be fine.

Once again I'd like to thank MSD for this wonderful S3G trigger
>>
>>31978466
Out of curiosity, what would not be fine? What is the line for ATF enforcement? Has anyone ever gotten in trouble as the result of a 4chan report?
>>
>>31978490
That's a hell of a good question, and I don't know nearly enough to give a good answer.
>>
>>31978437
>I don't want to go too light

I went all the way with a geissele national match dmr
>People ask to shoot my ar
>No
>They stay persistent and beg
>No
>Keep asking, finally get annoyed and let them
>Warn them about the trigger several times
>Tell them to not touch trigger until they are on target
>Warn them again and have them repeat what I just said
>They Nd into the ground
>"Wow that's a light trigger"
>Everytime

I take my ar back after they do that.
>>
>>31978462
>What do you even report people for?
Strange questions or behavior like >>31977994
Doing illegal shit like illegal SBRs
Depends.

>Why would you guys want to ruin someone's life like that?
This is 4chan.

>>31978466
No he won't. He's done.

Multiple times. Arrests. Prison time. All that.
>>
>>31978407

>>31978490
You don't hear about it because they're in the slammer. Look up "getting V&"
Better watch your back if you've committed any felonies and posted them here. I submitted an FBI and ATF tip on your posts because you're acting sketchy AF

If you have the money for that, you could basically build one with better hardware, exactly the way you want it.
>>

>>

That would be the smart thing to do imo

Why do you leave the buis under the optic like that? Is it easy to remove the scope mount?
>>

I think there are different kinds of stupid, but it's philosophy at that point

Any opinion on Primary Arms optics? Their 1-6 scope is stupidly cheap.

good cheap optics, their 1-6 is the same as the vortex strike eagle but with better reticle

You'd better off training to be an assault rifle for universally compatible ammunition when you're on the frontlines with the other Therians.
