Just ordered a Paramilitary 2 and gonna lanyard 550 cord with a small carbiner to attach to my pant belt loop.

Are kershaws decent?
I have a spyderco tenacious that i'm not really happy with anymore. The action is really slow. I'm looking for something spring assisted, preferably with a flipper.
Recommendations on blade steel? While the 8Cr13MoV on the tenacious hasn't given me any problems, it hasn't really blown me away...

It depends on how stupid you want to get with it.

If you're going to use it hard and dirty, but not abuse it, get an ESEE 6, ESEE Junglas or one of the BK knives.

If you're going to baton wood with more knots than that bestiality video your cousin starred in, you want soft steel. If it's intended use involves rocks, or prying, or throwing, it needs to be under-hardened.

And if you're going for an intentionally under-hardened knife, the Glock knives might be what you're looking for. They're hardened to like 52 HRC, which makes them buttersteel compared to other survival knives, but it seems that's what you might be looking for.

Damn anon, that sucks.
>>31898296
Some of them are, but they're quickly becoming Gerber with a few pieces of shit. Keep in mind they use mostly 440A and 420HC, and that in my opinion is worse than 8Cr13MoV. They're okay but they're not the best. If you're looking for something a little higher end, get a Benchmade Mini Griptilian or a Spyderco Endura.

940 all day

I want to get a zt or sebenza next
>>
>>31898296
the tenacious will loosen up a bit. learn to flick it with your index finger. its plenty fast. kershaws are great though. get the blur. its their best all arounder and probably the best ergonomically. you'll like their version of a thumb stud better than a flipper. ive got two of them and a tenacious also. all good knives...
>>
>>31898296
I have the knife in that picture (the Clash), it's comfortable to hold and seems solidly built but it takes more effort than expected to open it and it rusts easily.

I carry this when i wear a longer coat or am in my kitchen. Its the best fixed blade in my collection, although that doesnt say much
Holds an edge, is light, is balanced, and cuts very well.

ZT's have some of the best bang for your buck knives. They're as close as you get to full customs, use good or high end steels, carbon fiber, titanium, and the smoothest fucking pivots you will ever have the joy of fondling all day every day.
I really want to like the 940 but I just don't like the small size and the cheap feel of the aluminum. I'd really like to hold and play with a G10 or CF handled one (especially the 940-1501 Knifeworks exclusive) to see if I like those better, but the ergos just don't fit my hand as much as I'd like. But that blade shape and that axis lock...
If I were you, I'd get the ZT over the Sebenza. I've never held or owned a Sebenza, but I've heard plenty people complain about the ergonomics and the action. From what I hear the tolerances like centering, even grinds and washes etc are second to none, but I think ZT's are more worth it. If you're going to have a frame lock, why not get a beefy one with a smooth as all hell bearing pivot and a flipper for a cheaper price? Sure the tolerances may or may not be as tight, but think about supply and demand, as well as replaceability. You can replace a $160 ZT0450 easy as walking down to your local Sportsman's Warehouse or placing an order on Amazon or BladeHQ. You can't exactly order a $300 Large Sebenza 21 from just anywhere, and if it gets lost, stolen, or broken, that's a lot more to replace than a $100-200 ZT. A ZT0450, 0095, or 0808 will do you nicely without totally breaking the bank in most situations

Solid points my dude. I'll definitely consider the zt.
