(My message got left behind in the last thread, so copy/pasting it here because I'd like to know more about the CZ/vZ)

>>31853305
Nice; I love those little aluminium pins. A few minutes with a pocket knife is pretty much all you need. At least, that's what I 'hear'...

>>31856035
I heard that the CZ-858s are the semi-auto only vZ.58s, while a vZ.58 is a proper select-fire assault rifle. No? If that's not the case, then my next assumption is the 858 has the 18.5" barrel while the vZ.58 (even if semi-auto-only) has the standard... 16.3" barrel? That's the barrel length of an AK anyways, I'm guessing the Czechs went with a similar barrel length.
>>
>>31856478
I did that when I bought my first SKS in Morinville. Bought it, slapped the sling on and walked home.
>>
>>31856529
vzs come originally with15" barrels, but are switched with 18.5" cause non restricted guns are easier to import. select fire vzs are fucking amazing to shoot with 30rd mags. only got the chance once, should have shot more than one mag. same with when i got to use an AUG mk1 or whatever with the 1.5x scope and 40rd mags. should have shot it more
>>
>>31856478
That's fucking amazing. I need to go to Calgary some day JUST so I can do this. One more thing for my bucket list... I assume it can't be loaded though. Even if it could, I think I'd keep it unloaded, just in case a cop decided to be an ass face and request to have it looked at.
>>
>>31856560
feels great doesnt it.
>>
>>31856590
Sounds awesome, but I don't think it entirely answered my question. So a CZ-858 is MADE semi-auto-only, but a vZ.58 is one that started out as a standard Military cZ however was CONVERTED to semi-auto-only?
>>
>>31856607
na just recreate that scene from heat with multiple 1022s or something absurd
>>
>>31856042
There's another thread on /k/ claiming that VZ-58s will no longer be imported into Canada. Does anyone know if this is true? There's an article out the from April that said Wolverine was stopping imports.

I want one really bad but I never had money and the desire to buy one at the same time. Is now the time to buy one???

Also, the only ones I've seen are all $1300. Are there any out there on sale that I just haven't been able to find? The ones that are listed as ~$1000 are all out of stock
>>
>>31856632
oh theyre both semi auto only receivers ones just less semi auto only than the other, you need the military surplus full auto trigger group whichyou can find in parts kits
>>
>>31856643
If there are any under $1300 I'd like to know as well, I've always considered getting one but its a fair chunk of change. I don't think they'll stop importing just when they do it'll be in small numbers.

What are the rules for buying and storing 40mm HE rounds? Is it even possible? Always wanted to do a C7/M203 build, but I think I'd just do a C8 if HE is unavailable to us filthy dirty civilians.
>>
>>31858208
I think you need an explosives permit or something along those lines
>>
>>31858286
explosives permit, separate storage permits you need a certified magazine and emergency plan in case shit catches fire and plan to prevent someone from stealing it, then theres transport regs, you need to mark your vehicle with the appropriate whimis and think that's it, oh and a controlled goods license
>>
>>31858359
Sounds fairly simple. But are there places, assuming that you meet the requirements, that will sell you the rounds?
>>
>>31858359
You specifically need the permit for Police and Miiltary devices. Not given out to anyone not connectedto the force somehow.
>>31858374
No one will sell to you as an individual. All sales go through the department.
>>
>>31858374
No. The only people buying 40mm HE rounds are governments. There is literally no consumer demand for them.
>>
>>31858401
yea there's different licenses for different explosives, some you cant get but to acquire and store huge amounts of ammonium nitrate and aluminum powder then yea you can get it, farmers get it all the time for storing tonnes fertilizer
>>
>>31858411
What about places in the US that sell them? I assume you couldn't import them from places like that?
>>
>>31858512
Sounds like a bureaucratic nightmare. I suppose it could be done, but the sheer amount of paperwork you'd need to do, and authorizations you'd need to seek, would be prohibitive. Especially if you get someone down the line saying "nobody needs 40mm grenades, application denied".
>>
I was really disappointed when I found out the M576 40mm shotgun rounds were just 12 gauge encapsulated in a 40mm and not just a special 40mm shotgun shells filled with dozens of buckshot balls. Just something that came to me on the topic of 40mm shells.
>>
>>31858574
Pity. No point in owning an M203 without HE....
>>
>>31858512
>What about places in the US that sell them
they're destructive devices. You'd need a tax stamp for every single grenade you buy.
>>
So if VZ-61's are classified as restricted rifles in Canada instead of handguns, does what mean a VZ-61 with an 18.6" barrel would be non-restricted?
>>
>>31856643
It specifically said 858s so I can't tell if that means vz58s too.
>>
>>31858726
The thought of that is fucking hysterical. A fucking foot and a half of exposed barrel. Handle it by the end of said barrel and you could use it as a literal mace/morning star or whatever it's called. Just a stick of metal with all the weight at the end. I'd want to get a paint job... an animal paint job... anyone know how to do giraffe-print? I'm gonna name it Pinnochio.
>>
>>31858726

Yes.

>>31858766

If you threaded the cylindrical part at the front of the receiver, you could easily mount some furniture to it. The top-folding stock wouldn't work anymore, though. Making a side-folder or fixed stock would be nice.

I don't wanna be that guy, but making a NR VZ61 tacticool would be amazing
>>
>>31858788
Good ideas, but if I were to get it, it would be PURELY for the lul factor. I genuinely would want to get it painted like a giraffe, call it Pinnochio, and if anything maybe get a few spikes welded onto it on the back of the receiver on each other top corners, one spike coming out the bottom of the grip, and if possible, out either side of the receiver behind the selector switch so it doesn't get in the way.

Alright, fine, I would never actually do that, but the fucking thing would look like a combination Joker pistol, and a Morning fucking Star. It would be GLORIOUS!!!

It's scary how much those two looks like two guys I knew about 5 years ago. The scary part is, both were close friends to one another, both were juggalos, both were white supremacists, and both would probably identify as Neo Nazis. The one on the right would definitely identify as a skin head, though possibly both. One on the left was only 20 years old at the time, but had such poor dental hygiene that he already had rotting teen that caused him pain. According to him, it was in the hopes that he could get them replaced with gold. Both were liars and thieves, and believed in the 'scrub life'. Obviously, neither were anywhere near as 'buff' as the two in the pic. The one on the right was actually overweight.

>>31860956
I think it would have been better if they used bigger bullets. I mean, to be subsonic, they're limited by velocity, yeah? Well then the only way they could make it fly flatter is with bigger/heavier bullets because more weight retains velocity. I think they do have a version in some sort of subsonic .50 cal cartridge. Recoil will be heavier, but I think the point is to have a lethal and accurate subsonic round that will be as quiet as possible in a silenced/suppressed firearm. Bigger/heavier bullets will have more energy, will lose velocity more slowly, and in being physically larger than a 9mm bullet it gives a higher likelihood to hit something lethal.

I think what they basically did was alter the 7.62x39 cartridge to accept REALLY long 9mm bullets that are around 200gr or more with the intent of making it around 950-1000 ft/s through that firearms barrel. .300 Blackout is the .223 version of this very same premise, except of course that's .30 cal while 9mm is about .35 cal.

I just think in this case with the velocity being limited, they should have tried for bigger/heavier bullets.

so for 3 years people were selling prohib 10/22 mags

wow
>>
>>31861096

It's not that simple. The narrower the diameter of the bullet, the more effective the suppressor can be. The best you can do is have long, narrow bullets, but then they either end up sticking out of the casing significantly or end up taking up a lot of the internal volume, reducing the amount of propellant you can put in there. It also becomes more and more difficult to stabilize the round as you lengthen it while maintaining the same diameter. Although sectional density does go up, improving the ballistic coefficient significantly.

It invariably ends up being a balancing act.

>>31860828
>>31860835
>>31860851

'Sup.

Gunsmithing is basically a mix between metalworking, woodworking and assembly. You'll spend 99% of the time just doing stuff like recrowning barrels, bedding stocks, drilling/tapping receivers for optics and occasionally doing trigger jobs (disassembly a trigger group and polishing the bearing surfaces). There's a certain romance to the idea of being the guy building rifles from scratch in his garage, but that's basically never the case anymore.

I'd recommend going either into Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Drafting or Machining (emphasis on CNC) if you want to work on guns. The more you know about each and every one of those, the better a job you'll do and the less people down the line will hate you for giving them more work by making stupid mistakes.
>>
>>31863669
>but that's basically never the case anymore.
Well, never the case for any gunsmith who wants to actually make money...
>>
>>31863700

If you want to make dosh, you basically have to find your own niche.

There is (was?) a guy who specialized in taking cheap norinco 1911's and making them good pistols. He had standard parts he'd swap out, would put the elbow grease into the rest of 'em and then sell them to clients and businesses alike.

If you do high end builds for stuff, you might even end up having a long waiting list, but even then there are just so many man-hours into those kinds of projects that you don't make much in the end. Especially when you consider all the equipment and material you need to do it.
>>
>>31863730

>>
>>31863894
Interesting. Ah well, if I can't find any, I'll continue with the plan of making RDG5 clones, because their fuze is the easiest to manufacture.

The annoying part about it is getting a reliable fuse setup. Cannon fuse is relatively consistent (as far as pyro fuses go), but offers the risk of primer blowby if it's not fitted correctly. Compressed powder eliminates blowby, but is very difficult to time.

Plus you have to make sure your fuze is vented. It's no good using cannon fuse in an m204 or similar fuze (like the one on your m26 grenades), because they're designed with a low gas-producing composition and aren't vented, so black powder-based fuses may create higher than normal pressures and speed up burn time or worse.

Once you get down to it, grenades that don't risk blowing your arm off are a fucking pain in the ass to build from scratch.
>>
>>31863654

Isn't the ACOG at least 1000$ new? Why did he sell the whole thing for that cheap?
>>
>>31864125
just use chinese time fuse if you can find it, and not using a regular primer offers a vent hole for it.

Hitmen, cleaners, murderer’s, assassins, professional killers. Very few people
ever consider killing as a profession; but for more people than the world’s governments
care to admit, killing other people is indeed their profession.
Does our government train killers? Of course it does. Every government does. To
believe otherwise is stupid. Today, the C.I.A., the D.I.A., the N.S.A., and each special
operations branch of our armed forces all maintain elite “termination squads.”
Then there is the Mafia, every person on this planet knows about a Mafia of some
sort. Mafia hitmen are the most dangerous killers. Patriotism or nationalism doesn’t
motivate them. They do it all for money. Fortunately, they are used exclusively in the
organized crime communities to kill informants, thieves, traitors, and the like.
Regardless of who their employers be, all pro killers use similar techniques. It is
these methods that assassins universally employ that we will learn about in the following
chapters.
This book is compiled of personal knowledge and files I feel are common to the
professional assassin’s field of work.
I've never written a book before so if it sucks ass please forgive me.

why dont you cucks in ontario and alberta do anything if you're so mad all the time? Quebec bursts into flame even when a hockey game goes bad, let alone outright riots over tuition increases of like five dollars.

Why don't you non-quebecois people ever get politically violent? Are you cucks or something?

It's easy peasy, only takes a few minutes. Major tools are just a barrel nut wrench, torque wrench, and a vice.

>lawful dispositions

I don't believe this for a second. The law only needs to prove mens rea for intent to possess the prohibited item itself, not for intent to possess an item because it's prohibited. When you take into account that the RCMP's stance on this is that this is not a reclassification, but that the law has always been this way - they are viewing you as having been in possession of a prohibited item the whole time. As such, no amnesty period either.

Why the fuck would I walk into a police station or call the CFO and basically confess to an indictable offense?

Is it legal to have unpinned mags for your centrefire rifle lying around in your house, as long as it's not actually in your rifle?

Just in case of a home invasion where you'd rather have those extra 20 shots, than having your mom/imouto get hurt because you were complying with a cuck law and ran out of boolits.
>>
>>31868561
Nope.
>>
>>31868561
From a legal standpoint, there is no way to have your mags unpinned in any circumstances.
>>
>>31868561

You're going to have enough legal hassle with a home defense situation already, using an unpinned mag to shoot burglars a bazillion times is just going to make it worse.

Unless you're getting home invaded by the hell's angels you can probably find a firearm that will be legal to own while stopping the threat.

Also get legal defense insurance.

Military isn't all combat. I want to experience the training, and the day-to-day life of an Infantryman. I'd actually be fine if I served for years without ever going to war. Probably retire at 40-45 years old.

>>31866883
I dunno about all that 'Odin wouldn't let me into Valhalla' nonsense; you have to die with a weapon in your hands in order to go to Valhalla. It's true though, about the Military not being all combat. As for the rest, my ideal outcome would be simply having my own house, writing whenever I please, drinking as often as I want (basically 5-7 days of the week), and with all the firearms/ammo I could ever want. I'd like it to be somewhere remote, with a lot of land on which I can set up a simple shooting range, and a small river running through the land would be ideal. I'd like to have a woodstove, and I'd like to chop down my own firewood. There's something so much more comfortable and nostalgic about wood heat rather than electric heat.

As for women, there's one woman I'd like to try and have a relationship with. Whether it'll work out or not, I don't know, but I think it would. Someday perhaps we'd have kids, but there's no rush on it. She's going to College. I just wish my novel would have sold well when I published; I'd already be on my way to that ideal lifestyle. Sadly, my book only sold one copy, and she was the one who bought it.

>>31867475
What the fuck happened to that TT-33? It has the WWII-style slide!

>>31867505
I've heard of SVTs rechambered to .303 and sporterized. No clue how they did it or got the mags to work for it...

>>31867990
Looks fucking nice though... and yeah, great pistol to carry. So damn slim. Just a shame about that awkward grip angle. In a stressful situation, I'd probably ignore the irons, hold it like a normal pistol, and accidentally end up mag-dumping into the ground.

I know it's not going to be fun and games, obviously, but I have a lot of respect for Military history, and I want to experience what it's like while I'm still relatively young. Better now while I'm still in my 20s rather than when I'm in my 30s or 40s, and if I never even TRIED, I KNOW I would regret it later in life.
>>
>>31861096
Yes but will it ever make it here? I'm hoping that since the suppressed is internal and not a "device" it could make it into restricted. Besides the laws seem to have a soft spot for civilian versions of military firearms ie type 97

Oh, you actually think CANADA might have a chance at getting it? I thought you were talking about America... though then again... Americans can import firearms from Russia and China anymore, can they? I think we have a better chance at getting that unsuppressed version, but even then, why would our stores buy it in bulk? They would also have to supply surplus ammunition, because it's utterly unheard of here. That, or they offer a free Lee hand Press, die set, bullets, powder, and primers with each purchase.
